@Bleak1302 No they don't. They say "male-bedders" are doing something so hurtful it's incompatible with God's kingdom. Male-bedders are NOT homoxesuals because the former could repent "such were some of you" but people can't change who they're attracted to. Also women who like women are hardly male-bedders, are they now?
If we aren’t supposed to follow these laws why does Jesus say I have not come to do away with the old laws? I do believe some of the laws weren’t meant for us now but I don’t believe all the laws were dismissed.
About the apparent contradiction between Eph 2 and Mat 5, when Eph says Christ abolished the Law, the word there is a softer word, Christ annulled the Law, so that it still exists (like the New Testament often quotes it) but is no longer operational. In Mat the word there is much stronger: Christ did not do away with the law as you put it. Christ did not come to bring lawlessness or to get rid of the word of God which he came to fulfil. The Law of Moses is no longer operational as a binding set of rules for God's people. Instead, Christ has given us the new commandment, to love one another as he has loved us. So why do we look at Moses and see commands that we would find relevant? The reason is that it's based on the same fundamental principles of respect for God and treating each other well. Some things that are wrong today are not wrong *because* they are in the Law of Moses, but it's because they are wrong in the first place that they are both in the Law and are still obeyed today. There are plenty of things in Moses that are no longer relevant because society has changed or they do not have the same cultural significance (as mentioned in the video). There are some things that we do differently altogether, like having better strategies to deal with bankruptcy (rather than selling yourself as a slave). Then again, there are plenty of things we do today that are not in the Law because they were not appropriate in that culture, like allowing women to vote.
Hi, and thanks for your comment. You'll be glad to know that I have a whole video devoted to 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 - you can find it here: ruclips.net/video/ZFCKWJ7uk2o/видео.html
Bible and Homosexuality just saw the video. Let me just tell you something. I don’t want to sound mean, I respect your opinion but I must go all out. Why do you twist God’s words? God said that it’s meant for a man and woman to be together, even in the beginning, it was Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve. Your claim is stupid, it’s garbage. God CLEARLY says that the homosexuals and sexually immoral will not enter heaven, that’s all that needs to be said. Why do you consistently give crap of it, twist words, and give false testimony? God even said He doesn’t want false testimony and that’s exactly what you’re doing. I pray that you see that you’re wrong and that you need a good reality check.
Hi, thanks for checking out the video and responding. If you have seen the video on 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, you'll know that the Bible DOESN'T talk here about homosexuals (in part because that concept wasn't used in the ancient world). Whether a same-sex, faithful, monogamous couple are sexually immoral is precisely what we're trying to discern - it's not something that can simply be asserted. You also mention Adam and Eve, and I also have a video devoted to Genesis 1 & 2, addressing this precise point - I hope you find it helpful: ruclips.net/video/F4ljKuxHAJ4/видео.html

But Leviticus 19:37 and Leviticus 20:22 say "Keep ALL my decrees and ALL my laws. If anyone uses Lev 18;22 and 20:13 to condemn homosexuality, they MUST obey every single Old Testament law. Paul said the same thing in Gal 3:10 "obey everything written in the Book of the Law and 5:3 "obey the WHOLE law". Thanks for your comments.
Yes. You keep every law (including the ones about tattoos and shellfish and pork and the Sabbath) or you follow St Paul that the time of the Law has gone.
@@BibleandHomosexuality The law that Jesus is disregarding is the law of Judaism being exclusive to jews/children of Abraham since we are all one under Christ. This does not mean the Old Testament should be thrown out, since there would otherwise be no reason to disregard the law if Jesus is creating his on laws despite the OT. Our bible combines the old and new testament for a reason.
2 Timothy 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
I find it pretty helpful. Sound doctrine: 1st Corinthians 6:9 "Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men" Romans 1:27 "In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error." 1st Timothy 1: 9We also know that the law is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers, 10for the sexually immoral, for those practicing homosexuality, for slave traders and liars and perjurers-and for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine. 1st Corinthians 6:18 Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body. Are you going to say we don't have to follow the New Testament?
Hi JC, you've actually made my point. You've pasted these verses as though they clear up everything. But in each case, the difference in context (and the way some of these are translated) can seriously mislead us. To answer your last question first: we do have to follow the New Testament. But we also have to understand the New Testament and apply it properly. For 1 Cor. 6:9 (also covers 1 Tim. 1:10) see my video here: ruclips.net/video/ZFCKWJ7uk2o/видео.html For Romans 1:27 see my video here: ruclips.net/video/qkUytjBXXUg/видео.html For general issues with this area, see my two videos here: ruclips.net/video/LNPJ6GaeJ6Y/видео.html and ruclips.net/video/cGYaZpu0NgY/видео.html The last verse you quote, 1 Cor. 6:18, assumes that homosexuality is immoral. Please do check out all the videos on this channel - they cover many of the verses that are usually brought into this issue.
Homosexuality is condemned in both old and new testament. To say otherwise is dishonest and therefore you are preaching lies. 1 Corinthians 6: 9-11. Sodom and Gomorrah?
My interpretation of the word is irrelevant. The word of God is clear on all types of sins that deemed unrighteous and those who practice such things Will Not inherit the Kingdom of God. Problem is people tend to focus on just Homosexuality when they should spend just as much time preaching on all sin. Picking and choosing what parts of the Bible to accept based on there world views and not on what actually is said in Bible.
Hi, thanks for the comments. If you check out the videos as I suggested, you will find I have videos specifically on 1 Cor. 6:9-11 and also Sodom and Gomorrah. If you check out one of my overview videos, you will also see why this is an issue of interpretation (as the modern concept of homosexuality is not one that the ancient world generally considered). You say that your interpretation is irrelevant, but it is your interpretation that those verses are about modern forms of homosexuality - my interpretation is different, for the reasons given in the videos.

You are twisting the word of God for convenience. As a teacher you will be held accountable for this misleading instruction (James 3:1). Jesus came to uphold (fulfill) the law and not to eliminate it (Matthew 5:17). Gods plan is for men to be with women (Gen 2:24). Jesus confirms this in Matthew 19:4-5. Those who come to your video looking for affirmation of their sinful behavior will only find a life of sinfulness; not life as you describe it. But Jesus will forgive you and all types of sins if you repent (Luke 5:32). Outside of repentance there is no other way to forgiveness from God. Your logic may be the cause for many coming to your video to remain in sin and lose their souls to eternal damnation. I am guilty of sin and do not say these things lightly or in condemnation but to share God’s gospel for the forgiveness of your sins.
Hi Greg. I don't know why you think I'm doing anything for 'convenience' - I am straight, cis, married with kids. Please don't impugn my motives. Jesus was not asked about, or replying to, the issue of whether it might ever be possible for two men or women to be in a committed relationship. In Matthew, he is replying to the issue of the permanence of marriage. I have further information on Genesis in this video: ruclips.net/video/F4ljKuxHAJ4/видео.html and I have further information on the gospels here: ruclips.net/video/fa2KvJ7SR4A/видео.html
@@BibleandHomosexuality I’m not disputing your motives and I am not implying you are gay. I am stating that your interpretation is incorrect however. I have many friends and family members, not gay but pro gay, who will say anything and everything to justify their position on supporting homosexuality. The Bible states in numerous places that scripture cannot be clearly understood by many because the Holy Spirit is not in those who choose to go their own way outside of God’s teaching. This is why Jesus allowed many to voluntarily walk away from his teaching during his time on earth. He will not force his ways down the throats of mankind. He clearly spoke of God’s intentions of marriage between a man and a woman in Matthew. You believe his lack of his addressing the issue then supports the issue. I say he would clearly have addressed such a controversial issue had he supported it, but he did not. The great commandment of loving your neighbor as yourself is not Jesus giving his endorsement of a perverted lifestyle. Paul confirms this in Corinthians 6:9-10. I’m sure your heart is in the right place, wanting to love everyone, but your logic in scripture is misguided. I am not attacking you but I do want to set the record straight that your words will hurt, more than help, those you are addressing.
Hi Greg, thanks for responding, and clarifying your position about my motives. The question on 'convenience' cuts both ways: I have come across many people who will find any and every argument to say that homosexuality is wrong. You speak of God's intentions for marriage from Jesus' comments in Matthew. I have a video on the gospels, which includes addressing this passage (you can find it here: ruclips.net/video/6nSPznp2ToU/видео.html ). However, the short response is that Jesus was addressing the issue of the permanence of marriage and divorce, rather than anything to do with homosexuality. You also say that Jesus would clearly have addressed such a controversial issue had he supported it. One might also say that Jesus would clearly have addressed such a controversial issue if he had not supported it. In other words, the argument from silence again cuts both ways. There are many issues that Jesus did not address directly (for example, slavery). Trying to build an argument from the silence of Jesus is building on foundations of sand. I agree that the great commandment is not an endorsement of a perverted lifestyle. But, of course, this begs the question of what is 'perverted'. You mention 1 Cor. 6:9-10 - I do not believe this addresses the issue of homosexuality as we know it at all (I also have a video on these verses which explains in more detail, but a brief summary is that the target was pederasty: ruclips.net/video/ZFCKWJ7uk2o/видео.html ). I hope this helps.
@@BibleandHomosexuality I watched your video and I must say there is significant supposition in your video. Your comment about killing homosexuals assumes God would be bad if he wanted homosexuals killed. If he is the creator and he makes a choice, his choice is just no matter what as he is the potter and we are the clay. Who are we to question the creator? You are right that in the Old Testament God wanted his chosen race of the Jews to be pure. That meant keeping the tribe pure and doing as God commanded. Hard words for hard times. But then came the new covenant with Jesus who said people must repent of their sins. The killing and severe rules would, to a large extent, come to an end but there would still be judgement in the end. New rules and old rules. New rules? Live your life as you choose. Old rules? Judgement will still come so repent now (while you still can) and one must claim Jesus as their sacrificial lamb for cleansing of their sins before eternal judgement. So we may not kill sinners in this life (and that is good because we all get a second chance). But Jesus the Messiah will eventually judge through eternal condemnation of those who choose their way over God’s way. The good news is Jesus offers himself as a sacrifice to our sins but only if we accept that sacrifice and repent of our ways. But if we continue to sin (and doesn’t matter what the sin) and ignore his grace, he will not know us at the time of eternal judgement. Those who continue to sin and those who teach others to continue in their sin will spend eternity separated from the one who wants to love us eternally. Ultimately it’s our choice and no matter what human logic or reasoning we use in the end he will say… away from me I do not know you.
Hi Greg, thanks for the response. I am not questioning the creator, nor examining how this worked for the people of Israel when they were being formed as a nation. My point was addressed, rather, at us today and how we interpret verses from Leviticus. Are we consistent in how we do this, or for some reason are verses related to homosexuality treated differently from the rest of Leviticus? On what basis are you saying that killing and severe rules come to an end? You give a reason, but it is not based on what Leviticus says. And if the only thing that has changed from Leviticus is the timing of the judgment, then why are churches not preaching from the rooftops the evils of tattoos, or having intercourse when the female is menstruating? Will people be condemned at the time of eternal judgment for this? I am asking for some consistency in approach, as picking out just verses to do with homosexuality looks suspiciously like special pleading. There is a better way to decide how we should live and act, and that is the law of love, taught by Jesus, confirmed by Paul, endorsed by John. So the question we need to be asking is, what is not loving about two people committing to each other for the rest of their lives in mutual fidelity, and what is loving about preventing this companionship? Please note that your stark warnings about those who teach others to continue in their sin cuts both ways: if it is not loving to prevent this companionship, then those who oppose inclusion are teaching others to continue in sin. Once again, thanks for engaging.
Hi Martin, thanks for the comment. The law is not an end in itself, it was always a means to an end. That is now found in Christ. Christians do not follow the OT law in a multitude of ways (for example, most Christians do not keep the sabbath, which runs from Friday to Saturday evening, even though it is one of the ten commandments).
@@BibleandHomosexuality Jesus didn’t come to abolish the law but to fulfill it ! Jesus was there even in the time of the Old Testament. He was right next to God putting the laws down , no we aren’t under the law the blood of Jesus covers us from that because no one is righteous to fulfill the law in the physical we would all be going to Hell if that was the case .
Hi Martin, I'm happy to agree that all Christians should follow Jesus more. I also agree that Jesus came to fulfil the Law. And because he has fulfilled it, we are no longer subject to the Law, as Paul makes clear in Galatians.
Hi Ridgeback, thanks for the question. However, it would be helpful if you could be a bit more specific. In the video I go into the verses in a little bit of detail (including comparisons to other verses in Leviticus). Which particular part of the argument did you disagree with, and why?
Hi, again this comment is just an insult. You haven't engaged with any of the scriptures or the arguments in the videos. (And for the record I am straight, married & cis-gendered - nothing to do with my desires at all).
Hello, Rev. Tallon. I have left a comment before, appreciating your thoughtful and well-researched videos, which you saw, and I’m joyful for the reply. What I comment about in this instance has to do with your claim of the mentioned verses in Leviticus being ceremonial laws, rather than moral (at 03:46). While Leviticus is vastly comprised of Jewish ceremonial laws meant for the purpose of separating ancient Jews from surrounding cultures (as you mentioned), I am still struggling with understanding whether or not Leviticus 18:22 and Leviticus 20:13 are ceremonial or moral laws about sexual immorality. Recently, I participated in a discussion about whether or not all of the laws in Leviticus are ceremonial, moral or a mixture of both, especially those that are sexual in nature (e.g. prohibitions on incest; Leviticus 18:6-17, etc). Leviticus 20:18 (this is the verse about a man not having intercourse with his wife while she is menstruating. A similar verse is Leviticus 18:19) is ceremonial, because-as you also mentioned-it no longer applies to modern Christians following Christ’s fulfilment of the Old Law (Matthew 5:17) with his perfect life and death on the cross. It also does not make sense to most Christians nowadays, and was, again, meant to separate Jews from the surrounding cultures (pagan practices took part in these often). Another law that is seemingly ceremonial but also continues to hold true in our lives today is about child sacrifice, Leviticus 18:21: "You shall not give any of your children to offer them to Molech, and so profane the name of your God: I am the LORD." This verse references Molech [i.e. Moloch], a pagan Canaanite god associated with child sacrifice by fire or war. If Leviticus 18:22 and 20:13 are about pederasty, abuse, or prostitution which were common at the time, it would make sense for them to still be applicable today. However, as your videos state, other verses cover those issues. Your arguments are strong and I commend that, but again, it has come into question for me whether or not Leviticus 18:22 and 20:13 are moral laws pertaining to sexual immorality, or simply ceremonial. Moreover, I guess that I am trying to inquire, "how are you so sure that it is ceremonial?" Perhaps I am not competent enough in my knowledge of the book of Leviticus, but whatever the matter, a careful and intelligent response to this would be wonderful. Thank you for taking time to read this. I wish to get some answers, and I greatly appreciate this channel.
Hi Verbatiism, thanks for the question. If you check the video, I don't actually use the terms 'ceremonial law' vs 'moral' law. This is, in my opinion, an artificial separation of the law that is alien to the law itself. I am aware that there is a long tradition of separation into moral, ceremonial and civil. But I do not find this particularly helpful. It is also not the approach that Paul took in his letters - there is no indication that he is dividing up the law into different categories, and that we need to work out which individual commandment fits with each. Rather, Paul says that the Law has come to an end (eg Rom. 10:4), and Christians should be guided by the Spirit. The only law is that of love. So we do not need to work through each commandment, trying to work out whether Leviticus 20:18 is ceremonial or moral. Instead, guided by the Spirit, in community, we need to work out what is loving. Hope this helps.
You didn't answer the question why the verse says "as with a women." To me that indicates he is speaking specifically to the act of sex a man does with a woman, not an abusive relationship and therefore a man shouldn't have sex with a man the way he has sex with a women. He does not mention the other relationships. And in Lev 20:23 God says he didn't like what the pagans did anyway so who cares what they were doing. God didn't like it and he didn't want His people doing it.
Hi Jaakan, I give more detail on the potential meanings of the verses on the associated website (scroll down to the resources section): www.bibleandhomosexuality.org/does-leviticus-mean-homosexuality-is-an-abomination/
DAMN , Did it ever occur to you that " being put to death ", meant not having eternal life ? Its amazing how homosexuals try to justify their sickness as being normal .
That's certainly an interesting interpretation, but seems to be reading a meaning into Leviticus rather than out of it. The command about 'putting to death' crops up a number of times in Leviticus, and sometimes the method (stoning or burning) is also specified. And then we have an actual example of stoning to death (Lev. 24:23). So I think we are on safe ground in assuming it means physically killing, rather than eternal life. People who are homosexual are not sick, and I, the author of this channel, am not gay. I am confused why you would assume the worst motives about others, rather than the prosaic truth that I interpret the Bible differently from you, and think you are wrong (as, no doubt, you think I'm wrong).

Hi George, the Genesis reference is different in context from the Leviticus reference. In Leviticus, the context strongly suggests that capital punishment is being understood. On the broader issue, Leviticus says a lot of things are an abomination, including working on Saturdays (breaking the Sabbath), wearing mixed fibre clothing, eating ham, etc. But the Law, for Christians, is over. You can't then cherry pick bits of the Law that you think still specially apply for small groups in society.
Your intentional twisting of God’s word makes you accessory to the damnation of all who are deceived by you. You should tremble. Unless you repent you will not be found guiltless before Almighty God, and the day of judgement will be a horrifying entrance into an eternity of torment for you. “For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to truth.” “There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other scriptures.” Paul and Peter were referring to you. Repent and turn from your sin, and stop deceiving yourself and others. God is not mocked. There is forgiveness with God in Jesus Christ for all who believe in Him, and repent and turn from their sin.
Hi Matthew, we should both tremble. Because if you are wrong, then you are making it harder for those who are gay to come to Christ. And Christ said this about such people: "If any of you put a stumbling block before one of these little ones who believe in me, it would be better for you if a great millstone were hung around your neck and you were thrown into the sea." (Mark 9:42) This means that we should take seriously our duty to examine the Bible and how it should be interpreted. Since you disagree with my arguments, please explain why I am wrong. Convince me.

what about when Jesus refers back to Genesis that God made them Male and Female and For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife? Matthew 19:4-5 . If as you say we don't live by the laws of the Old Testament, then why would Jesus make reference to something from the Old Testament? Also, you are incorrect that the only law Jesus gave us was love. You obviously haven't read the Bible or you would see there are many things about the Old Testament that are referred to in the New and we are told to abide by them still. Also, Jesus is part of the Trinity, and to say that Jesus either didn't talk about homosexuality or didn't mean a certain thing referenced in the Old Testament, you are basically saying he is not part of the Trinity. Whatever God says is what the Holy Spirit says and what Jesus says. They do not contradict each other. In no way am I saying that homosexuals shouldn't be treated with love and respect. We do need to show them love and what greater love is there than telling them the true gospel of Christ and saving them from eternal hell. I'm also curious why of all the sins mentioned why there is such a push to change the way we think about homosexuality and that the Bible might be wrong (fyi the Bible is not wrong) why isn't there a push to make adultery ok, or beastiality, or human sacrifices, or pedophilia? Why is this? If we are interpreting the Bible wrongly about homosexuality, then who's to say we aren't interpreting everything wrong? where does it end?

Hi, I just want to say the law we aren't supposed to follow anymore are the ceremonial law because Jesus already fulfilled it, but the moral law ( 10 commandments ) are the laws we are still to follow, homosexuality is apart of that law mainly because people in the New testament prohibits doing any homosexual acts.
Hi Multareon, thanks for the response. However, the Torah itself makes no distinction among the different laws, and trying to impose a 'ceremonial' category is artificial, and fraught with definitional problems. Also, Jesus fulfilled all the Law, not just part of it. I would note that Christians do not follow the ten commandments (in particular, most Christians do not keep the sabbath as the Torah expects, from Friday sunset to Saturday sunset). This man eloquently proves that if you go to scripture with your own agenda, you can prove/defend anything. But, no one with a truly open heart, would ever come to this conclusion.
HI, Thanks for engaging. You say 'we should keep the laws'. But the Christian Church has not done or thought this for the last two thousand years, since the first council recorded in Acts 15. Christians don't keep the Sabbath (Friday evening to Saturday evening). Christians eat pork and shellfish. Christians have tattoos. A blanket statement 'we should keep the laws' is, from the historic, orthodox Christian understanding, plain wrong. Have a look at the video; I look forward to your engagement with the content.
Hi Samuel, my first degree was in science from the University of Cambridge. I then got a first in a BTh from the University of Nottingham (with a prize). Subsequently I got an MPhil from the University of Nottingham, before completing my PhD with the University of Manchester. Hope this satisfies your curiosity. The Sabbath is but one example of laws that Christianity does not expect followers to keep. And this is because Christ is the end of the Law (Romans 10:4). Paul describes the Law as a disciplinarian whose role has come to an end. I note that you mention the Sabbath, but don't tackle pork or shellfish or tattoos. Why cherry pick some parts of Leviticus and ignore others?
Homosexuality is not 'clearly condemned repeatedly all over the bible'. Homosexuality is not mentioned at all. Male same-sex activity is mentioned in the OT only in Leviticus and the story of Sodom (where it refers to gang rape). There are three NT passages (one of which repeats a word first used in 1 Cor. 6). I deal with these passages in my videos and on my website. As it happens, I am not gay.
Why on earth would a homosexual male even consider "lying" with a male partner "as if" he were a female - one lacking the "equipment" a homosexual male would find attractive in a partner?
The underlying Hebrew is a bit more obscure: do not lie with a male bed woman/wife. If you look through the academic literature, scholars disagree on what it meant. One interpretation is lying with a male in the way a man would lie with a woman, by poking him between the legs. It did not prohibit other ways of lying with a male. I hope this clarifies it ... at least a bit.
@@MusicalRaichu Fortunately, it's not our problem, but rather that of the requisite (minimum) two male witnesses to the event to provide evidence against the offenders before the council of elders. It's doubtful they would have been as versed in the Hebrew Scriptures as you are.
Don't Use God's Word to Preverse it. Its Obvious Man shall not sleep with a Man and Woman should not Lay with a Woman!!!!!I Totally Agree. With the Word of God!!!!!You cant Disect the Word of God Making it to Fit your Lifestyle!!!!!Its Clear and Concise without Confusion!!!!!
Hi Ivalina, thank you for your comment. However, saying it is 'obvious' is not an argument. We both agree the word of God is important. We disagree about how to interpret it. (And for the record, this is nothing to do with my lifestyle - I am about as boringly conventional as it's possible to be - straight, married, kids, pets.
isn't it a mistranslation to say "man lay with man" in the first place? Wasn't it actually describing a very specific type of relationship not practiced today? We know the definition of sexuality and sexual orientation has changed an infinite amount of times from then until now. I don't think (based on what scholars have said) the Bible mentions homosexuality or anything adjacent at all. It's just a translation convenient for certain people.
”For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: and likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.“ Romans 1:26-27 KJV Its doesn’t need to be debunked any further.
That doesn't describe homoxesuality. We know it's not caused by idolatry, and no gay man has "left the natural use of the female". Seriously, not a single gay person I've known did even one word of Rom 1. Now sure, some guys "burn with appetite" for guys but plenty more "burn with appetite" for women. That's why the main point of the text is Rom 2.1, "you condemn yourself". The point of the text is NOT to use it to criticize other people.
God gave Moses the Ten Commandments on Mount Sinai to serve as principles of moral behavior for the human race and one of the commandments was " Thou shalt not kill " and then in Leviticus God is telling Moses that the people should kill those who worship other Gods or are homosexuals can someone please explain this to me ?
•Unclean Food in the New Testament Jesus declared clean. •The pagans would cut themselves in honor of their false gods, it is not talking about tattoos. •Having a blemish didn't make you less holy, if you continue reading it says in Lev. 21:22 that so they wouldn't profane the temple. •Should adulterers and homosexuals being executed? Yes. Romans 6:23 KJV For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Only Jesus cleanses us. That is the difference. Jesus died on the cross for our sins so we don't need the punishment. We must believe he is God and man. We MUST REPENT and turn from our ways and turn to Jesus. He is the only way to salvation. Love is not tolerence. Its warning someone of the danger they are in. 1 Corinthians 13:6 Rejoices not in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; Please see the whole chapter of 1 Corinthians 13.
Hi, you make a number of points. Let me address them. First, you say that unclean food was made clean in the New Testament. Please note that this is also true of 'unclean' people, as the account of Acts 10 clearly shows. Peter is shown a vision saying that all food is clean; the leap that he makes is, when seeing Cornelius, that all people are clean. I agree that pagans cut themselves as part of their cult worship, and that Leviticus may well refer to this. It proves the importance of understanding the surrounding context and why something may have been mentioned here. This also, of course, applies to Lev. 18:22. If your blemish profanes the temple, it sort of does imply you're less holy. I see that you are consistent about applying the death penalty. I strongly disagree with you, and note that Jesus didn't enforce the death penalty on the woman caught in adultery. I wholeheartedly agree with you on the importance of love, and repenting from sin. I just disagree with you that homosexuality is sin.
actuall Yahshua said to keep his commandments, he fulfilled the law, so no we do not adhere to the law because anyone under the law is under the curse of death Paul wrties. but his commandments are forever; all twelve of them.
I agree with what your saying. Right now were living under the dispensation of grace not law, If were we still living up under the law. I dont think it would be one human left in the world.
Hi Adam, I don't think I say anywhere that there is a mistake in God's Word. However, I might well disagree with you in how to interpret that word. That's why I produce these videos.
Hi Adam, I am happily married to a woman, have three kids and two rabbits, and live an extremely 'normal' life. I don't have a vested interest in this, beyond thinking it's the right thing to do. But I would be careful - there is a lot in scripture about judging other people.
Just another note - it came across as dismissive and aggressive when you referred to 'this queer' (irrespective of the sexuality of the person). Thanks for engaging.
Romans 1:26-27 New International Version 26 Because of this, God gave them over(A) to shameful lusts.(B) Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones.(C) 27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.
He’s preaching a doctrine suited to men/women and not of God because in 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 talks about anyone who practices those sins won’t get into heaven.
This might be the most wicked reprobate I've ever seen masquerading as a christian. Its repulsive to anyone who truly believe in Jesus Christ. There's a special punishment for workers of iniquity, and this "man" will experience every moment of it. God will not be mocked!
What I find most difficult is that the people of the lgbtq community are born the way they are. Why then do we support things that discriminate against those people? I came to this video seeking knowledge because I know in my heart when something is wrong. I know that calling a homosexual relationship an abomination is wrong. So I am grateful that others feel the same and are researching the context of scripture. Because there are verses, at least to me, that rubs me the wrong way, therefore I search for answers. For example, 1 Timothy 2: 12, says "I do not let women teach men or have authority over them." Should we take this verse at face value and strengthen the patriarchy?? No, we should search the context and find answers through the lens of loving faith.

Matthew 19:5 Jesus says ‘A man will leave leave his father and mother and be united to his wife and the two will become one flesh’ the same as Genesis 2:24 when God said it when he made Adam and Eve, so whilst I agree with some of the things you are saying about Leviticus in todays society, I take what Jesus said to be the true meaning of the word in this verse regardless of the era. Yes we are told to love one another we are also told to correct one another and my concern is if what you are saying is not interpreting Gods word correctly then you and others like you are condoning and leading countless people into living a life of sin because of what you say is what they want to hear understandably, we all want to be loved but we all also live in a fallen world sadly and it’s not what God intended it to be as we all also know. Hi Linda, thanks for the response. First, let me say that I agree that we fall short of the glory of God, and whoever is wrong I pray for God's grace and forgiveness. I have done a video on the gospels, which includes the passage from Matthew, and also a video on Genesis 1 and 2. You may find them helpful. In brief, in Matthew Jesus is talking about the lifelong nature of marriage. The issue of gender simply wasn't part of the argument that was happening. Of course most marriages are male and female, and of course Genesis speaks of humanity in this way. But that doesn't mean that everything else is wrong (for example, being single).
Hi Terry, thanks for responding. This video explains why I don't think Leviticus applies. What are your detailed responses to the arguments in the video? Leviticus 20:13:- " If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they must surely be put to death; their blood is upon them. " When God's Word (IE: the Bible ) is so clear on this matter; any attempting to deny those words are simply attempting delude either themselves or others.
Hi Cedric, just checking that you feel this strongly about tattoos, or people eating pork, or people eating food made from blood (eg black pudding). Or about ham and cheese sandwiches. Or about intercourse during a period.
@@BibleandHomosexuality Basically.... Yes I do. Tattoos deface the bodies natural beauty, eating food made from blood is inherently dangerous, and intercourse during the monthly period is an abuse of any woman to whom it is done. That said however; I've never seen any Scripture criticising either eating pork, ham and cheese sandwiches etc, and would appreciate your mentioning where in the Bible these things are condemned. I thought it was only Islam which forbids the eating of pork ?
Hi Cedric, Although I don't personally have tattoos, I know many who do. I am not aware of any major denomination having a ruling on whether tattoos should be outlawed or not. I do love black pudding as part of a cooked breakfast, and I like my steak rare. I have never come across any sermon preaching about when married couples should have intercourse as a matter of abomination. The command not to eat pork is Leviticus 11:7-8. Not eating pork was a key part of Jewish identity at the time of Jesus, with stories being told of Jewish people martyred during the Maccabean wars for not eating pork. It remains as part of Jewish practice today for observant Jewish people. Observant Jewish people also do not mix meat and dairy (so no steak and cheese, let alone ham and cheese), based on the majority interpretation of Exodus 23:19; Exodus 34:26 and Deuteronomy 14:21. And I also believe that the Bible is clear when in the New Testament it says: '“Now before faith came, we were imprisoned and guarded under the law until faith would be revealed. Therefore the law was our disciplinarian until Christ came, so that we might be justified by faith. But now that faith has come, we are no longer subject to a disciplinarian, for in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith.” (Galatians 3:23-26 NRSV). The New Testament is clear that the time for the Law is over for Christians. Hope this helps.

Why not take leviticus into consideration? If we're the ones deciding what to obey and what not, why not get rid of the whole thing and start thinking by yourself?
The Bible is very clear on this issue What part of YOU SHALL NOT is unclear? It is FORBIDDEN! you're literally saying the complete opposite of what God himself said
@@BibleandHomosexuality there is *no* argument. What you are saying throughout this entire video is in direct contrast to what the scripture says. Let's take religion out of the picture for a moment and break down semantics and use context to identify the intended meaning of this as far as the intended reader (who would be a religious observer) is concerned: *You shall NOT LIE with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination* Here we can see that the speaker (the Hebrew God of Abraham) is explicitly stating to men (as evidenced by the word YOU) that you are not to lie with another male in the same way as with a woman. But what *way*is the speaker implying? Well how does a man typically lay with a woman in the Bible narrative? This euphemism is for sexual intercourse. So again let us use semantics in context here. You(a man) shall not lie(have sex with) a male as with a woman ;*it*(the action thereof which is homosexuality) is an abomination Here it matters not what the definition of abomination even is, it is how the action is viewed. They go on to state that person's caught in it are to be stoned. "thou shall not kill" is "thou shall not premeditate and murder" that's a statement you could use this argument for as god repeatedly tells people to kill in the OT yet *never told a single person man or woman to do what Leviticus **18:22** expressly forbids* Leviticus 20:13 expands on this narrative against homosexuality. If you do this within their lands, you shall be put to death. Note the semantics here. *Put to death* means executed. Here the hangman is absolved of the guilt that breaking the aforementioned commandment would bring as the lord is the killer. Otherwise they would be set free. Here you see again, the euphemism for sexual intercourse. The abominations spoken of *is the homosexual activity*. They even say their blood is upon them, meaning as far as the Hebrew God is concerned they had it coming. I'm not Christian at all, but this ancient work of men clearly is espoused by many as the LOGOS and it doesn't say what you're arguing in this video The point is you can take the word abomination out of the text completely and it doesn't change at all the stated message that homosexuality is *forbidden*
Thank you for putting forward an argument - it is appreciated. As I said in the video, I think the context here does matter - that at the time male same-sex activity was either related to pagan worship or was pederasty. But even putting this to one side, you don't address why Christians should feel bound by these two particular verses when we are not bound by the rest of Leviticus (and I give example of such verses in the video). If Christians can have tattoos, or work on Saturdays (that breaks one of the ten commandments) or have sex while a woman is menstruating, why are these verses on male-male sexual activity to be kept? Christ is the end of the Law to righteousness for all who believe.
Colossians 2:16-17 (KJV) Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ. Hebrews 9:10-11 (KJV) Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation. But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;
@@BibleandHomosexuality I am not assuming here. Let's say you are right about the Leviticus, but what about Romans 1:26-27? Which is after Jesus' death.
@A man of Vision Then this video is contradictory, since the original definition of pederasty was mentorship with benefits and the "boy" could be from 13 years of age up to 20 or 30 years of age. Plus the boy's father had to consent or else it was illegal. So no, it wasn't pederasty but rather gay temple prostitution (eunuchs?) since the original text describes "man laying with a male as if with the layings of a woman". The verse comes right after forbidding your seed to pass through the fires of Moloch.
@A man of Vision Not only that, the Septuagint would have "paiderastia" added to the list but that it never did. Plus God has no qualms with men "laying" with children (God said that the Israelites could keep the "women-children" for themselves after killing off a corrupted tribe).
Hi old Errol, thanks for the question. In effect, you're asking if Christians can take part in/support military actions, including war. This has been a long debate within Christianity, with some strands/traditions affirming that violence is always wrong, and that it is never the most loving thing to do to kill others. Other strands argue that in certain, limited circumstances violence and killing can be justified as the most loving thing, because the alternative is even worse. This lies behind (in part) arguments about whether you can have a 'just war'. But in either case, the traditions are arguing about what is the most loving, not whether it follows or not the Old Testament law. Hope this helps.
There's a huge flaw in the blanket "Christians don't have to keep the law" approach. The law also prohibits things like murder and adultery, as well as incest and bestiality, with these latter two in the immediate context of Lev. 18:22 and 20:13). Yet no one is arguing that incest and bestiality are okay for Christians to engage in because "that's the old covenant." I believe that you can plausibly argue that the "clobber passages" don't actually have anything to do with homosexuality as we understand it today and even that the Bible, overall, is affirming. But simply saying "eh, it's Leviticus don't worry about it" simply isn't a sound argument.
Hi Larrilyn, thanks for the comment and engaging. I guess I would say in reply that it's not me that says that Christians don't have to keep the law, but the New Testament (particularly shown in the writings of Paul, for example in Galatians). This does not mean a free for all, where Christians can do anything (it looks like some in the church in Corinth took this approach, and Paul had to try to correct them). Instead, the New Testament says that we are to live by the Spirit indwelling us, and by the 'law' which fulfils all the other laws - love your neighbour. So murder is wrong, not because it says not to in the Law, but because it is not loving. If you want to judge whether a Christian should or should not do something, that is the metric to use. The law all hangs together. If you think you should obey some commands because they are in the law (rather than because that is a loving thing to do), then you need to obey all the commands - including the ones about which foods you can eat, whether tattoos are suitable, whether clothes can have mixed fibres. You can't pick and choose. This doesn't mean that Christians ignore the law. It has a variety of purposes, one of which is to point to Christ (cf Romans 3:21). Hope this helps.
@@BibleandHomosexuality with respect, we follow Jesus, not Paul. @@joeporath2194 I understand Leviticus is attributed to Moses - some 1500 year before Jesus. @@BibleandHomosexuality I think you just verbalized your biggest problem: you don’t find God’s word helpful. You don’t find it helpful, because it is offensive and destructive to your personal agenda, because your agenda is of your flesh, not of God.
Hi Matthew, you seem to have misunderstood my point. I do find God's word helpful. In contrast, I find your comment offensive. Simply quoting a Bible verse is not interpreting the Bible, nor is it an argument. In the context of working out what the Bible says about an issue, there is sometimes an implied interpretation behind the verse. But this is not explicit, which is unhelpful. And sometimes it is not even noticed - which is even more unhelpful. I am content to be challenged on my interpretation - I try to respond to as many comments as possible. But if people don't engage with my arguments, they are not treating me seriously (which I can live with) or the Bible seriously (which I find more worrying). We are called to use all of us in the service of God - including our minds. If you are so convinced I am wrong, then explain (rather than just assert) why.
I got a question about the law. So you said that Leviticus isn’t for us. Wasn’t Leviticus for a specific group of individuals? Also what law do we follow today? The love thy neighbor and love god with all your heart, or the 10 commandments? I’m confused because im seeing 3 sets of laws.
Hi, thanks for the question. According to St Paul in the New Testament, the Law was for the people of Israel (Jewish people) until the time of Jesus. People are still at liberty to follow the Law if they wish, but it is not a matter of salvation or sin, and does not mark out who is part of God's covenant people. The new 'law' is the law of love: Love of God, and love of neighbour. There will clearly be overlap with the old Law. Take the 10 commandments. It would not be loving others to steal, or murder etc. But we no longer (in the vast majority of Christian churches) keep the sabbath (from Friday sundown to Saturday sundown). And that's fine, because the 10 commandments are part of the Law which we are free to follow or not, so long as we love God and love our neighbours. Hope this helps.

If it's not an abomination (Which of course it is), then why are so many people coming out from the homosexual lifestyle? Why are so many ex-homosexuals feeling so free!? Also in Romans chapter 1 it is very clear that men and women exchanged their natural attraction with those of the same sex and burnt with lust. We ought to agape love everyone. But, let's stop manipulating the Bible to accommodate our own fleshly desires. If you live with your gay partner in the same place, then sexual activity will be very likely to happen.
Hi, a few observations. First, I don't even know what you mean by 'the homosexual lifestyle'. The people I know who are gay lead very ordinary, even boring lives. Secondly, I find it telling that the founders of some of the main ex-gay ministries, after years (even decades), eventually repented of having tried to change people. Thirdly, I have a video on Romans, which I hope you will find helpful. This isn't about manipulating the Bible. But it is about taking it seriously, and engaging with it properly and not superficially.
@@BibleandHomosexuality Only God through the Holy Spirit can change people. If people try to change people it's open for failure. In the same way when people look up to the pastor and idolize him and when he fails at something they leave Christianity. We must be Christ-like. We should love men and women with Agape love. But when it comes to eros between couples of the same sex, that is where the error comes sir. Beware for you are deceiving many people. I beg you to repent! from your teachings. Carlos Catari is an ex gay and he is now married and even his homosexuals desires God removed them.
Given that, for the large majority of people, ex-gay ministries are failures, that suggests that this is 'people trying to change people', and nothing to do with Christ.
Hi Joseph, I'm not personally Seventh Day Adventist - I'm Anglican. My only point is that many Christians, if they treat any day as a special day, treat Sunday in this way, and not Saturday which is the Sabbath referred to in the Bible. Thanks for engaging.
Well this may come abit late as i only saw it now but i stand to disagree about following the old testament ..See how Jesus said it in Hebrews 8:6-13 and Matthew 9:16-17. In Matthew 5:17-18, Jesus says, "Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. So we jave to follow the old testament.Yes we may not abide by the rules that govern adultery in our current weak faith but that doesn't mean we shld abondon the laws
Hi Hamza. The mainstream Christian tradition of the last two thousand years is that we do not have to follow all the Old Testament laws (and Acts 15 and Galatians bear witness to that dispute within the early church). You quote Hebrews, but that says, 'In speaking of “a new covenant,” he has made the first one obsolete.' We have one law to fulfil, which is to love.
@@BibleandHomosexuality My word is for nothing. Christ said: John 5:46-47; Luke 16:31; Matthew 5:18-19.(ESV) Then Paul warns against lawlessness and specific transgressions of Mosaic law in Romans 1:26-32; and 2Thess chapter 2. Moses was clear: Deu 29:29 (Mat 5:18). Shalom
Hi Miles, thanks for the reply. Your verses refer to various occasions which refer to Moses, here taken as equivalent to the first five books of the Bible (eg Moses and the prophets is probably equivalent to the law and the prophets, a way of referring to scripture). And Jesus fulfilled the law, and gave us a new commandment. It has been the common understanding of most of Christianity from the outset that gentile Christians are not called to follow all the commandments in the Old Testament. Early examples include circumcision (with the acceptance of the gentiles without circumcision being a main feature of many of Paul's letters). Other early examples also include food laws (eg, Mark declaring that Jesus made all foods clean in chapter 7) and also no requirement to keep the Sabbath (which has continued - most traditions do not keep the traditional Sabbath). So it is clear that we are not called to obey all the commands of Leviticus etc. Moses points towards Jesus, but now Christ has come we no longer need the law as a guardian.
@@BibleandHomosexuality When Paul spoke of circumcision of the heart he was quoting Moses. And, as Christ said, those that teach against the Law are least. Christ is the judge, not you nor me. But I do not suggest to anyone they teach the law is abolished. You teach it is no longer a sin to have sex with your family and it is perfectly ok to sacrifice your child. You are misleading people and using the Word to promote your own belief system.
Hi Miles, but I wish to object to your logic. You accuse me of saying it is OK to sacrifice your child because I do not think that Christians have to obey all the laws of Leviticus. However, I have consistently said that the New Testament teaches the law of love. I do not think it is loving to sacrifice your child, and I'm sure you would agree with me. If you think we are called to obey all the laws, can I ask whether you think all Christian males need to be circumcised?
Hi Tony, that's certainly one interpretation. But many Christian traditions (rightly or wrongly) have had no trouble at all in killing people for sin (cf the death penalty in some states in the USA). Clearly this isn't the whole story.
Not Christian tradition, people who represent Christianity incorrectly. The reason for Jesus sacrifice is not an interpretation. The death penalty for people who kill people is a justified. Jesus coming did not abolish the law and he was very clear on it.
Jesus did not abolish the law, but he did fulfil it. And now we no longer follow the Law in the Torah, but the law of love (which again fulfils the Torah).
Fulfilling it means he lived by it,in order for you to fulfill the law means you follow it,you complete it. Why I fulfill my dreams means I did what I said I was going to do. Jesus was born under law,to follow law and prove it true since Satan and other angels questioned it.
My only problem with this is that the verse doesn’t condemn homosexual sex in the context of shrine prostitution, but bans the act as a whole. Even if that reason is to be “different”, it’s still a pretty bad mandate
There are a lot of unknowns about the prohibition. The text is ambiguous lit. "do not lie with male bed wife/woman taboo". we can try to tease out what we can out of the textual, historical, cultural and theological context. But I don't think we can make definite statements about it. Ultimately, it doesn't matter, for "we have died to the law to the serve in the new life of the Spirit" (Rom 7).
@@MusicalRaichu Ultimately, it does matter to define what sin is because "For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation" (Hebrews 10:26-27). If you continue to sin, then Christ's sacrifice on the cross will do nothing for you, and you'll be cast to hell during judgement. Also Jesus defined Marriage in this verse. This is coming STRAIGHT from Jesus, "And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder." (Matthew 19:5-6) Marriage is defined as One man and One woman (heterosexuality), and all sex outside of marriage is wrong. Also in this verse it says "father and mother" not "father(s) and/or mother(s)". It clearly defines just one mom and one dad.
The entire book of Leviticus is to prepare the Israelites for the promised land and to be holy as God is holy. God wants a holy people that is set apart from the rest who worship idols and engage in sexually immoral behavior, this is going against God's wish for a holy people. The Israelites eventually can't live up to the standards of God and that's is why they are eventually exiled from the promised land. This entire book is pointing to the fact that humanity needs a Messiah, a savior. Leviticus is a part of the entire bible and the bible is a message not of condemnation but of love, mercy and the everlasting grace of God. That no we don't have to die but God will make atonement for us and give us everlasting life with him. Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord".
I read Lev 19 this morning and it must be the most disgusting story in the Bible, apart from what our Savior had to go through of course. But l couldn't even read the ending, l knew it already. So l asked the question: why is this even in the Bible. Then l found out that it is a sort of repetition of Gen 19! Sodom and Gomorrah. An all time low you would think. But now, even after the Exodus, after the pronouncement of the 10 Words, and the many sanctifying experiences, here we have a story where literally no one is without sin. Not the concubine who turned a whore. Not her father who had a lying spirit. Not the Levite whose reaction was cold and cruel. A liar too, and..not the tribe of Benjamin in whose culture homosexuality was just about daily practise and totally accepted. Only difference was, God didn't destroy all of them like He did Sodom and Gomorrah.. And if we are honest, this is what all of us deserve looking back at our life. Me especially. But thanks be to God! He came down and payed our ransome and died in our stead!
Everything in the verses are spelled out for you, i’m sorry but your video is just giving excuses on you just can’t follow all of them. Of course no one can follow all of these rules, no one is 100% on the dot Christian. Every Christian is a hypocrite, because nobody can follow these rules 100%. This video is more like I said of “ it’s impossible”, then the Bible isn’t against homosexuality. The Bible is very much against homosexuality, that’s just how it is. I don’t understand why christians think they have to stay with it..
Hi Ninjette, thank you for your reply, but I must respectfully disagree with you. Christians don't have to worry at all about whether they are following these rules or not. That is the central theme of Galatians and Paul follows a similar theme in Romans and Philippians. If you think following the OT laws is necessary for salvation, well that is what Paul calls a false gospel.
@@BibleandHomosexuality I don’t believe you can grow as a person, without hearing other people’s views and opinions so I appreciate your comment. I don’t like how Christianity is being attacked now a days, but I myself am no longer a Christian. Having suffered through Christian schools for many years, and being looked down upon by Christians I have a very raw view of Christianity. I see it as set rules, and if you don’t follow those rules you are a hypocrite so it’s easier just not to follow Christianity but that’s my opinion. The world doesn’t revolve around myself, and those are just my views. According to the Christians I’ve come across, unless I repent and follow those set of “no one can 💯 live by” rules there’s no salvation for me anyway. I just hope what I do helping sick and homeless cats and helping people whenever I can, is enough to take me to a good place when I die. Thank you for listening to me, I appreciate it.
I'm sorry that's the impression of Christianity you were given. It should never be about rules, but about relationships: God's gracious, infinite love for us, and our loving response to God and others. Salvation isn't by rules. It's a free gift from God.

Bible and Homosexuality I am not sure what you mean by not being engaged with argument. As a student of the word of God, I don't have to engage with what you are teaching to know you are deceived and deceiving. Yes, we do not practice most of the laws given in leviticus but the ones that were mentioned again in the new testament are to be obey. In the new testament most of the laws were not repeated but adultery, homosexuality, etc. were mentioned. Romans 1:27) 1 Corinthians 6:9). read Revelation 22:14) the dogs will be outside the gate. among them are those who are sexually immortal!!! also, you mentioned Matthew 22:36 -40). That passage is more, so much more then you think! If we love God with all our being: we will obey him. John 14:15) 1 john 5:3). We will find satisfaction in Him to the point that sin will lose it grip on us and to love our neighbor as ourselves means; we tell them the truth not led them astray. When we read the last chapter in the bible. Revelation 22, we see that love for God is more then just professing with the mouth because it requires an action. Loving God means: we hate what he hates and love what he loves. May God give you understanding, and wisdom for His word and may He make his teachings known to. you
Hi, and thanks for engaging. You mention laws mentioned in the New Testament, and refer to Romans 1:27 & 1 Cor. 6:9. I have videos that address both of these passages - I do not think they refer to what you think they refer to. I agree with much of the rest of what you say, including loving God, obeying God and loving our neighbour. But I disagree about how you are interpreting certain verses, and I give my reasons in the videos.
Oh, how I wish the bible is not subject to human interpretation but unfortunately, it is. Have you read Matthew 22? Reading about the man who was able to go into the banquet party without a wedding dress? V 12-13), Matthew 13: 47-50). You see, in the end the true children of God will be reveal. My problem is not that you chose to believe what you want to believe but that you are teaching it to others. Romans 1:37). Not once in the bible was it mentioned a marriage between two men. Shouldn't that say something to you?
Thank you for being polite. I have no doubt that you believe what you are teaching and is doing it out of love but, I still think you are wrong. I pray that God will make that clear to you.

Hi Davis, thanks for engaging. I agree that Genesis 2:24 provides a pattern. But that doesn't mean that alternatives are not possible or that alternatives cannot be blessed by God (otherwise being single would be sinful). If you personally wish to follow the law, fine. But if someone should insist that others follow it, then according to St Paul, 'let that one be accursed'.
The early church had to address the issue of imposing the Law on non-Jewish converts to Christianity. Their conclusion was no, it was not to be imposed. This is recorded in Acts 15. I'm horrified how some of the church in modern times tries to reverse the apostles' decision.

Yes. Humanity is destined to hell. However, you are responsible for confessing your own sins. You also have the choice of whether you want to justify your behavior or accept it as sinful and confess to the LORD.
Everything is a sin in the Bible. The bar is set so high that no living human being can reach it. And even if you practice word for word what's in the Bible, you'll find many verses that justify killing for all sorts of context. The 'no-killing' commandment might as well be for decoration. There's a reason why most first-world nations separate Religion from Governments. Otherwise you would have honor killings, slavery (Bible condones that too), women being treated like second class citizens if they want to be independent. You wouldn't have fair trial if you committed a crime, whether you stole something or simply made a mistake. Basically everything you enjoy today is because of that separation. The Bible doesn't deal with depression, it just wants you to pray your pain away. It might help for some, but we have multiple diagnosis' in the medical field just for that topic alone. How many of you give your hard-earn money to the poor when you get a bonus from your job? The bible says take what you need, everything you have in addition should be given away. Do you need 3 iphones, 3 laptops, do you need more than 1 dress, shirt, pants, underwear?
(New testament) This is how God really feels about it. Romans 1:26-32 26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. 28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; 29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, 30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: 32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

Hi, thanks for replying, but you need to consider what I say in my video on these verses. What you think this means may not be what Paul or the recipients of his letters would have understood by it.
Hi, you have settled on one interpretation of what 'against nature' means in these verses (and also what 'it' is). However, it is not the only interpretation (nor, in my view, the most likely one). In my view, a likely interpretation is that Paul was referring to frenzied intercourse associated with pagan goddess worship. My video explains more.

It also says in 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 that those who practice homosexuality will not enter heaven. So your argument is null and void

I have further information on Genesis in this video: ruclips.net/video/F4ljKuxHAJ4/видео.html
and I have further information on the gospels here: ruclips.net/video/fa2KvJ7SR4A/видео.html
Gods law does not change , even JESUS spoke of this ! Jesus was there in the Old Testament as well .

Hello, Rev.

“For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to truth.”
“There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other scriptures.”
Paul and Peter were referring to you.
And Christ said this about such people:
"If any of you put a stumbling block before one of these little ones who believe in me, it would be better for you if a great millstone were hung around your neck and you were thrown into the sea." (Mark 9:42)

what about when Jesus refers back to Genesis that God made them Male and Female and For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife?

Now sure, some guys "burn with appetite" for guys but plenty more "burn with appetite" for women. That's why the main point of the text is Rom 2.1, "you condemn yourself". The point of the text is NOT to use it to criticize other people.

Hi Cedric, just checking that you feel this strongly about tattoos, or people eating pork, or people eating food made from blood (eg black pudding). Or about ham and cheese sandwiches. Or about intercourse during a period.
@@BibleandHomosexuality
Basically....

Hi, I'd appreciate it if you engage directly with the arguments you feel are wrong, rather than general statements like this.
You are right these ppl r insane if they think God recognizes homosexuality
@@BibleandHomosexuality there is *no* argument. What you are saying throughout this entire video is in direct contrast to what the scripture says. Let's take religion out of the picture for a moment and break down semantics and use context to identify the intended meaning of this as far as the intended reader (who would be a religious observer) is concerned:
*You shall NOT LIE with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination*
Here we can see that the speaker (the Hebrew God of Abraham) is explicitly stating to men (as evidenced by the word YOU) that you are not to lie with another male in the same way as with a woman. But what *way*is the speaker implying? Well how does a man typically lay with a woman in the Bible narrative? This euphemism is for sexual intercourse. So again let us use semantics in context here. You(a man) shall not lie(have sex with) a male as with a woman ;*it*(the action thereof which is homosexuality) is an abomination
Here it matters not what the definition of abomination even is, it is how the action is viewed. They go on to state that person's caught in it are to be stoned. "thou shall not kill" is "thou shall not premeditate and murder" that's a statement you could use this argument for as god repeatedly tells people to kill in the OT yet *never told a single person man or woman to do what Leviticus **18:22** expressly forbids*
Leviticus 20:13 expands on this narrative against homosexuality.
I'm not Christian at all, but this ancient work of men clearly is espoused by many as the LOGOS and it doesn't say what you're arguing in this video
The point is you can take the word abomination out of the text completely and it doesn't change at all the stated message that homosexuality is *forbidden*
Colossians 2:16-17 (KJV) Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.
Hebrews 9:10-11 (KJV) Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation.
But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;
Then why is sexual morality reitirated in the New Testament.
You seem to be assuming in advance that gay relationships are wrong.
@@BibleandHomosexuality I am not assuming here. Let's say you are right about the Leviticus, but what about Romans 1:26-27? Which is after Jesus' death.
I hope you find this video about Romans 1 helpful: ruclips.net/video/qkUytjBXXUg/видео.html
man shall not lie with young boy.
I don't think it condemns pederasty since the boy would be put to death also. God doesn't kill innocent parties.
If the law is done away with. Can I kill someone as long as it's Within the bounds of love?
Yet no one is arguing that incest and bestiality are okay for Christians to engage in because "that's the old covenant."
I believe that you can plausibly argue that the "clobber passages" don't actually have anything to do with homosexuality as we understand it today and even that the Bible, overall, is affirming.
As I previously highlight to you, Jesus was specific about the law - “ do not change a word of the law” “I have NOT come to change the law” Fact!

@@BibleandHomosexuality so in other words, the 10 commandments are not the rules we need to follow in regards to salvation?! It’s the 2 commandments he has given us about loving him and thy neighbor?!
Yes. Though of course salvation is ultimately dependent on God's grace, not what we try (and often fail) to do.
@@BibleandHomosexuality exactly. Salvation is faith alone through Christ alone. So what I’m hearing is that the 10 commandments is done and that levitical law is not for us??? That the only commandments are to love one another?

"or work on a Saturday which is The Sabbath" SDA bro?
You quote Hebrews, but that says, 'In speaking of “a new covenant,” he has made the first one obsolete.'
We have one law to fulfil, which is to love.
This is so wrong.
Hi Miles, you haven't explained why it's wrong. Which bit of the video is wrong, and why?
@@BibleandHomosexuality
My word is for nothing.
Christ said:
John 5:46-47; Luke 16:31; Matthew 5:18-19.(ESV)
Then Paul warns against lawlessness and specific transgressions of Mosaic law in Romans 1:26-32; and 2Thess chapter 2.
Moses was clear:
Deu 29:29 (Mat 5:18).
I thought the bible was pretty clear. If anyone has any questions just read it for yourself
You might want to watch this video about what the Bible does (or doesn't) say about homosexuality: ruclips.net/video/LNPJ6GaeJ6Y/видео.html
I rebuke you Satan in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ
I'm very happy to join you in rebuking Satan.
Jesus sacrifice was to abolish death from sin which is why we can't kill someone for sin.
What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder." (Matthew 19:5-6)
Marriage is defined as One man and One woman (heterosexuality), and all sex outside of marriage is wrong. Also in this verse it says "father and mother" not "father(s) and/or mother(s)". It clearly defines just one mom and one dad.
Next video: How a rock is not a rock. Manipulation of Leviticus 18:22 and 20:13 at it's very finest.
Hi John, could you please specify precisely where you think the text is being manipulated?
This teacher is a fool.
“You have heard that it was said to those of ancient times, ‘You shall not murder’; and ‘whoever murders shall be liable to judgment.’ But I say to you that if you are angry with a brother or sister, you will be liable to judgment; and if you insult a brother or sister, you will be liable to the council; and if you say, ‘You fool,’ you will be liable to the hell of fire." Matthew 5:21-22

Isn't it so sad when people try to interpret the bible to suit their own sinful behavior? Is like saying, is okay if you think is red. I see a different color and is not red. Matthew 19:4) do what you want to do. Just don't twists God's word!!
Hi Love for Christ, thanks for commenting. But you haven't actually engaged with any of the arguments in either this video, or the one on the gospels.

27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
