    For someone who received the wrong fish twice(!) and sick as well, you have a very good attitude :) Good luck my friend.

      Thank you! I was very disappointed initially, but now trying to see some positive side of it:)

    And me who thought it was only 2 corydoras...

    Honestly I don't think Tropco has any idea of their fishes haha. Easy mistakes and misidentifications. One of the biggest things that bugged me was the fishes were smaller then described. But when I ordered Ancistrus ranunculus I didn't want to receive Ancistrus macropthalamus. I think for Corydoras there is a common situation of underfeeding in stores as they are often expected to clean up after other fishes.
    Have you thought about discussing with Ian Fuller or going to a Catfish Study Group event? Maybe they can recommend someone.

      It was a sorrowful experience indeed. The corydoras that they've sent were not only starved, but also infested with some form of intestinal worms or gill flukes as it is only after 2 rounds of flubendazole treatment that they stopped scratching and started gaining some weight. I am certainly planning on joining the Catfish Study Group!

    Use Levamisole. It's not as strong as Flubendazole and Praziquantel, actually and it can be resorbed via the gills. The other stuff has to be added to the food to get into the fish. If deworming doesn't do it, it's flagellates, then use either Flagellol (or something with the same active ingredient) or Metronidazole. The latter is also an antibiotic, so only if all others are not available.

    • @tropicalfishhub
      @tropicalfishhub  8 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks, I will proceed with Levamisole treatment then. I wasn't sure how corydoras will react to it. I previously used it on discus and although they were successfully dewormed, levamisole stressed them out a lot

    I've seen true Corydoras eques on Pier Aquatics social media. I would take this up with the vendors,since they were both sick and mislabeled.

    I can't believe they think they are eques especially when they have the correct picture on the website GM aquatics have 5 or 6 wild adults if you want to get your hands on them asap. Gutted for you I've had the same experience in the past trying to get the real ones. Hopefully you eventually get some but gm aquatics or apisto aquatics to order some in would be your best bet mate

      Thank you! Yes, I was mislead by the photo tropco has on their website, but it seems these aren't actual stock photos. I will most likely wait until the next trip to Pier as they almost always have real c.eques in stock

    They owe you an apology. They also owe you money big time. What a horrible reputation they are making for themselves. I would never ever do business with them ever again. They probably wouldn't last long as a business in my county.

      There aren't many good online fish shops in the UK, so companies like that don't bother to improve sadly!
