  • Marc Lamont Hill sits down with Judge Joe Brown on the media frenzy surrounding Bill Cosby's criminal trial and subsequent overturned conviction.
Brown tweeted: "Anyone who was knowledgeable of American law would have expected and predicted the outcome of the Cosby appeal. Mainstream media and Hollywood incite public disorder by lying to the people about the law and encouraging mob rule. Hollywood reacts to Bill Cosby's release with shock."

I don't even want my sons to date, it's too dangerous. I blame this new feminist movement. Those women don't want equality, they way superiority. It needs to end. Women that claim rape need to have actual proof, if not they wreck someone's life for a lie. They should be in jail. Same with fake hate crimes.

These ladies had every right to raise their own moral standards and stop and just leave unless they could acknowledge of being forced to stay! Even if drugs and drinks were involved and none was forcefully tied up, it was more likely that both parties were aroused to go further!
Ladies are also more likely to regret previous sexual encounter when they feel their standards have been set lower while they were dronk or high!
Accusations aren’t facts! Old judge is right again both are equally responsible!

The rhetoric is that it was on you for putting yourself in the situation. So what real difference does it make for these women to flirt with this man, join him in going to his private hotel room, accepting whatever from him, etc. I listened to one of the accusers case and she admittedly flirted with him all night knowing he was a married man, followed him into his bedroom and continued to flirt. He wasn't pretending to be a lawyer. He separated his arguments. 1) Bill Cosby was not guilty under the law. Hill was okay with this 2 ) Bill Cosby ADMITTED in a deposition that he used a powerful sedative drug, money and fame to get women. Morally that is wrong. That is the arguement Hill was making. Meanwhile Bill Cosby was running around scolding black men for the same thing. The judge was also scolding black men and pretending that Bill Cosby didn't do anything wrong, morally. Cheating on his wife is not wrong? Drugging people without their knowledge is not wrong? Having sex with a woman he drugged is not wrong? Bill Cosby admitted all these in the deposition. Now he was told he couldn't be charged, that's why he said it and they used it against him. That WAS WRONG for them to do that. However, Bill admitted to all these things and bill was wrong. Bill Cosby is a predator based on his own deposition.

@@dollarroll2000 "Bill Cosby ADMITTED in a deposition that he used a powerful sedative drug, money and fame to get women."
Cosby never said that about Andrea Constand, the alleged victim whose alleged rape is why he went to prison. His deposition relating to her only stated that he provided her with benadryl *at her request*. So, he never stated that he drugged her to have sex with her. What he may have said about other people would be a separate case. The prosecution had nothing on him in regards to Constand, so they basically used character assassination instead, by bringing in other women not related to the Constand case. As much as I like Mark Lamont Hill, he is misguided where it relates to the whole Cosby issue. Judge Brown's possibly inadvertent interruptions of Hill's point made perfect sense, because what people "think" when ruled by emotion is precisely what can lead to mob mentality. Also, Hill's comparison to Zimmerman is ridiculous. There is no question that Zimmerman killed Martin. The only question is whether he was justified or not. There is NO proof or even sufficient circumstantial evidence that Constand was raped, let alone that Cosby did it. Apples and oranges.

Not only should this nonsense have been tried on 50 years ago when it happened, but these women should not have entered the hotel of a man, flirted with a man nor accepted drinks from a man. One of the accusers said she was flirting with Cosby all night, went back to his hotel with him, he stroked her hair but ultimately sent her home like she was nothing and she went home. What's she's suing over? The hair stroke! Half of the accusers are ridiculous. This metoo movement foolishness has gone too far! This is why I am very happy I am gay!

What the Judge either fails to realize or refuses to acknowledge is that if his interpretation of "innocence" as defined by the law, is what determines *ALONE* whether or not the criminal acts perpetrated by a person accused of them are just, valid and acceptable when that person is acquitted and found Not Guilty following a trial, then he *MUST* also believe that the White men who were defendants in the Emmett Till murder case (an example he himself raises in this interview), were, in fact *_INNOCENT_* and absolved of all guilt and that their actions were just, valid and acceptable too, or to use the Judge's exact words they "didn't do anything." Because those men were *ALL ACQUITTED* of Emmett Till's murder by a jury of their peers, even though the evidence proved otherwise, and every person in the entire world *_KNEW_* they had cruelly and monstrously murdered that young man. So Judge Brown, you can't have it both ways. What's good for the goose is good for the gander. If you contend that Bill Cosby "didn't do anything" because, under the "presumption of innocence" provision in our laws and legal system he was not found guilty of the crime he was accused of, or because the manner in which the law was applied and our legal system was manipulated, he could not be prosecuted for crimes that he actually - *_KNOWINGLY_* - committed and confessed to....then you also have to say the very *SAME THING* about those racist White men who murdered Emmett Till and got off scot-free because of a *TRAVESTY* and *MOCKERY* of justice and an abuse and misuse of our justice system. They too must be considered "innocent" since (to use your own words) they *_"didn't do anything."_*

  • @indatube

The miscommunication was judge Joe brown wants to police people's thoughts, Marc was saying legally he's right but people can still believe someone's guilty (with no weight) or feel justice wasn't served by the legal verdict. It's not illegal to disagree. It's illegal to take the law into your own hands. Judge is, at best, speaking of an ideal utopia, and at worst he's taking the white approach of "that's the way it is". He won't even entertain the thought of the laws being wrong so how can we ever change them? He seems very comfortable with the laws as are and seeks to preserve status quo. It was disturbing how he wouldn't give any ground to someone having sex when the other is incapable of consenting, regardless of choosing to intoxicate.

Claiming rape after decades should not be allowed in any court! Also I'm not sure why Mr Hill is so concerned and personally invested in "ripping" Cosby down. You Can NOT use the law of today to prosecute people in the past. EVERYONE that partied in the 70s 80s and 90s and then engaged in sex knew that was the way it was. There was no consent issues. The walk of shame, waking up with someone and not remembering how we got together was a mutual thing most of the time. About the time that the roofie predators in the late 90s became more and more common that is when the consent issue started. I meet a girl at a party in my 20s that was late 80s. We drink all night together with others and then we end up having sex the girl would wake up the same as me what happened? Bill Cosby just as rock bands and other famous people in those days it was common to offer all kind of drugs and drinks to get the women there to the party and to have them there so we could have sex with girls. They knew it and we knew it. To go at Cosby for what was well known and to have some of those women get jobs because of Cosby then 30 years later then accuse him of rape was outragous. The laws today are like Joe Brown said not the same in every state. I am so glad I am not young and have to deal with this kind of landscape. What do you do if you don't get someone drunk and both end up in bed then the next day the woman can just accuse the young man she didn't consent and have his life ruined just based on a accusation? Explain that Bullshit
