She did belt a G5, twice or thrice, because when she sang If Its Over she went sharp on the "Give it to ME" and she went sharp twice on the "Got to say the WORD tonight"
Mariah had an incredible ability to hit the perfect note for each part of the song. It wasnt about how high can she could sing , it was about high can she could sing and still be musical and beautiful sounding.
Great clip!! MC is straight up the best singer that has ever graced the earth! Let's not forget that she writes all her own songs and the VOICE, etc. The woman is sent from up above, pardon the pun.
I love the "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing" performance. She sang the song with a lot of ease; not to mention it is one the most effortless vocal performances she's ever done.
My favorite era, her voice was still so thick and gospel and a lot of power. Amazing. I think she should have started recording albums when she was 15 as her voice prime faded very fast. Lol iam not for child labor but I think we missed out some of her good years
I think she was stronger here than during her debut, she had better control, her phrasing had improved, her notes were equally resonant, some even more so.. She stylistically added more growls but in no way to cover any decline vocally.
i loved this era...she didnt lipped any performance and she sang every hard note of make it happen and if its over!!! just flawless singing on this era!
Great vid! 3:41 Go MiMi! I never knew she did that live, I love that long note from her I only saw the "Hah Yeah Yeah" That Someday whistle is so sweet
@stardusth2o I Highly agree Daydream was a more layed back and Mello Album.. But Emotions was More Vocally Technical.. Daydream was Chill where she began 2 kind of sing the music she wanted 2.. Emotions was Where she couldnt really Control the music like she can now.. Daydream was her Turning Point
LOL @ "intoxicated", great video. I can't get enough of her vibrato on the c5 from Can't Let Go and I just watch 4:15 over and over, the expressions on the backing singers' faces and Trey's hair haha
@Mcvideos92 haha i agree..she could have effortlessly belted higher notes...but you know, what makes mariah amazing in her own right is because she didn't sing to impress people with high unnecessary notes..she always sticks to the melody and shows her musicianship. it's amazing
@comedymania999 They are both good, Calvin has been around longer and was the first to do so many videos of Mariah and her eras so I give him major props for that. I enjoy all of their videos.
Her overall RANGE changed a bit, debut era is my favorite because her lower register was more used, while here slowly but surely it became more higher pitch and eventually(late '90s throughout 2000's) became whispery, her overall RANGE was more impressive before.
@Marypopines1 That's the greatness of the legend Mariah. Let me assure you everything in this video is live except for the intro, filler and end sequences.
Nice yes it goes G5-C6-E6-G6-Bb6-C7-D7 lol I've always known her whistle register starts low. Whistle does not begin at Eb6 lmfao people have no sense if they think she bothers to transition to head voice I can whistle myself coz I experimented with my voice and i can whistle very low and high sometimes I can go down to even a C5 so I always knew mimi's whistles were low too.
@DreamloverLambi I'm on holiday till august 21st no vocal range vids till then ill upload random stuff lol. I dont have my computer so no access to the clips i need :/
@LoboAscuridad LMAO at your comments always lol. Eb5 was I'm in LOVE. That is called a vocal growl. I know WMM didn't stretch those clips oh well we'll live lol. She did a G7 and a G#7 in the last note in the video, read the details about the note at the bottom.
@sentfromupabove I do know that, it's just that quality of her voice changed drastically from one year to the next (96-97). she was overworked, yet still she decided to go ahead and sing(or her company decided for her). because in 1998 she did another tour. I'm just trying to come up with a reason of why her voice changed soo much.
I love that intoxicated note too. Only Mariah will do that xD So the intoxicated note was an EB5 or was the EB5 before the intoxicated note?? E5 Is my fav. I like that sound she does (kinda like Intoxicated). Is there a name for that? (If It's Over song) 5:45 & 6:24 & 9:38 Not Widescreen :( F5's and F#5 were Magical. My fav HV 8:12 My Fav Whistle 10:00 So MC skipped the G7? Dang... I was so looking forward to that.
The thing that bothers me about Mariah is that by this time mariah was a fucking vocal beast! you hear those f#5? gosh! but she never went higher when i know she could.. ;(
@rekupp I hear notes and double check with an online piano and its reliable.. and no wrong again, it's superhead voice. Lead The Way is an octave descension Bb6-Bb5. Santa Claus Is Coming To Town ANNIVERSARY MIX is C6, you clearly do not have sufficient knowledge of the voice if you believe a C6 in whistle is impossible.
Her head voice is totally her weakest part. Her belts were great and her whistles were awesome but there are other singers with better head voices. Celine Dion has one of the best head voices I've ever heard, although she doesn't use it much. It has a great tone.
Lea Syn Whitney's head voice is awesome too. She probably had the prettiest head voice out of Celine, Mariah, and herself. The control she had with it was amazing.
Hey guys check out my acapella cover of butterfly by Mariah Carey ruclips.net/video/6Eabr_Plwt0/видео.html
Crazy how husky and mature these vocals sound in 91/92 compared to her open and feminine sound in 93/94 (both amazing)
kpoptastic yeah Mariah's voice is so mysteriously magical
Her belting and growls were so strong during this era WOW. By far my favorite era of vocals. Thanks, I enjoyed this.
She did belt a G5, twice or thrice, because when she sang If Its Over she went sharp on the "Give it to ME" and she went sharp twice on the "Got to say the WORD tonight"
it doesn't matter because with that voice, we know she can.
Thrice?
Mercury 😂😂😂😂
Mariah at her vocal PEAK, and no one can deny it. This is exactly when she was considered the world's best vocalist EVER!
6:30 was her best F#5 ever IMO
Lol I've just edited this video because it was blocked which F#5 did you mean?
It's should be in 4:55
F6*
@@SomewhereOnTheOutside u dumb
sentfromupabove sr i meant the one at 4:55
Shit hit a Bb7 in this era
I didn't realise when making this video 5-6 years ago
So many F#5s in If It's Over that you had to include the whole climax 😂 Still like how the separate notes were from separate performances .
OMG Mariah Carey is the Ultimate Music Queen
So many F#5's
That wasn't even all of them lol.
Mariah had an incredible ability to hit the perfect note for each part of the song. It wasnt about how high can she could sing , it was about high can she could sing and still be musical and beautiful sounding.
I loved her during this era! Favorite era from her! Her pitch was amazing here!
the intoxicated party gave me life lmao
Definitely the best whistles, love the intro, and the old performances are so genuine, the belts are heartstopping, and the end is of course MAGICAL
She changed key to get an even higher note: amazing! ♡
Great clip!! MC is straight up the best singer that has ever graced the earth! Let's not forget that she writes all her own songs and the VOICE, etc.
The woman is sent from up above, pardon the pun.
I love the "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing" performance. She sang the song with a lot of ease; not to mention it is one the most effortless vocal performances she's ever done.
best vocal range video can you do one for her later albums
highest note is A#7
not lies at all. watch the filtered version 4 times louder by thi hills

this Mariah's era is IMMACULATE!!
Nobody will ever match, or surpass her prime vocals.
5:05 that transition tho
Her E5s this era were at their best.
She was so gospel and so rock at the same time! I loved her costumes
The girl can just sing her ass off, this is just bringing me back to my childhood, being a little girl, singing my head off to Mariah!
my fav belting era... this just so good. My Whistle fav is 2001-2006... just on the spot..
I think she was stronger here than during her debut, she had better control, her phrasing had improved, her notes were equally resonant, some even more so.. She stylistically added more growls but in no way to cover any decline vocally.
She was so raw during the time.
Not as raw as the debut. But RAWWWWW.
You always share the good works! Thank you for the uploads! :)
Love it!
MC the greatest vocalist ever!
Never in my life have i seen mariah cried on any interview unlike other artists , She stays strong ! :)
This was the best era for her F5
Music Box is for F5, Emotions is for F#5!
@@TheRealVocalsOfNippyandMimi and daydream g5's ✨

awesome vid! i like the early 90's vibe.

such a great video, once again. ans sooooooo many F#5's in ''if it's over''. she is effing awesome!!!
That was her best era VOCALLY!!
The F5 is 5:52 remains the purest F5 I have ever heard. I LOVE the F#5 mash-up from If It's Over performances

she had many unstable whistle notes here but still her upper chest register was so superb!!
her whistle was best in music box era and early 2000s
I love this thanks for sharing
The Mariah Carey era - Music box era
This is where she can show her 5 octave vocal range
@comedymania999 They are both good, Calvin has been around longer and was the first to do so many videos of Mariah and her eras so I give him major props for that. I enjoy all of their videos.

I agree that she got whispery but her lows got better as well
Do you still have the mtv unplugged, songdastoppet or des o Connor emotions performance in 16:9 size? Or the hark the heralds angel sing? Or the link
@TheDeathsAdvocate I prefer her airy whistles lol they are beautiful :P
I love her E5 from If It's Over XD
thanx for share it!!!
Yes I am aware of the extra new whistles and TEOM = Bb2-F#7 actually. MOAIA = G2-F7 actually.

@Marypopines1 That's the greatness of the legend Mariah. Let me assure you everything in this video is live except for the intro, filler and end sequences.
@TheHololo Everyone knows her voice changed in tonality and power in the late 90's she was forced out of her vocal prime too early
3:28 what was that mess omg
LOOOOOOOL XD
daydream I think you mean: what was that GIFT~

Music Box had some uptempo songs, as Emotions had mellow songs.
So yeah, they're simular.

Her head voice is totally her weakest part. Her belts were great and her whistles were awesome but there are other singers with better head voices. Celine Dion has one of the best head voices I've ever heard, although she doesn't use it much. It has a great tone.
Whitney has the best head voice, for me
Lea Syn Whitney's head voice is awesome too. She probably had the prettiest head voice out of Celine, Mariah, and herself. The control she had with it was amazing.
Whitney's head voice was extremly pretty. Its so similar to opera, that tone, depth and god the resonance.
Head voice has absolutely nothing to do with whistle voice. Lol at the Mariah Carey stan that doesn't know anything about whistle voice.
I don't agree. Mariah has an amazing head voice and she can sing in her head voice with such ease. Simply amazing.
@stardusth2o Thanks please subscribe :3
@rekupp No it's not impossible, flageolet register can start lower than Eb6 in the voice that is a misconception that it begins at Eb6.
@comedymania999 Can you please stop commenting derogatively on my videos or I will block you this is getting too rude.
Her belts are upto G5 amd her highest whistle note is Bb7
@rekupp No this run clearly descends to C6. Lead the Way Bb6-Bb5. Another C6 would be Santa Claus Is Coming To Town Anniversary Mix.
nice
