My all-time fav. Police Song. Andy and Stew are legends but without Sting's songwriting brilliance there would have been no Police. He is the true genius in the band and what a superb voice he still has.
saw them in Philly last night too. Just the three guys. no background singers, keyboard's. Just raw power and talent. They could take any young band out today and send them back to the basement.
Awesome! The Police are back! Let me repeat that: The Police are back!!! I never thought this would ever happen. I'm gonna get tickets to see them this summer.
by the end of the tour, the same song will have been rewritten a hundred times over on stage and that's not to mention the thousands upon thousand of times it has been rewritten in each of these guys head's I love it. They are playing for the music and the music is good.
Great vid. I've got 2nd row seats to their gig this Sunday here in Grand Rapids, so I'm doing my "homework" on them to get reacquainted with their music and how they look in '08. Tks for the post.
This song still grabs me by the brain and never lets go...Sting/Andy Summers/Stewart Copeland--there's a reason these 3 great gentlemen are in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame! Heehee ;-)
C Sharp Minor-Stewart's cadence-Andy rocking as usual-Sting's witty singing voice-OMG I missed this band for so long-thank you God for bringing them back together! BTW they were awesome June 18th in Phoenix AZ heehee!
Excellent!!! Just watched the Rock History one when they played it live for the first time. THE POLICE lives on!!!!!!!!!! They came to our town and played in an old Warren Brothers theater that is no longer open, but the building is still there. They were on tour promoting their second album. They play this song. It was awesome.
this song touches my heart in many ways. it reminds me of guitar hero with my brothers waiting for them finish their song so i can play this one and barracuda!! love this song ❤ sending out an sos for the lonely people on the world, sending big hugs.. not a message in a bottle but with the heart.
Sting's a genius songwriter, Stewart's one of the greatest movie/tv soundtrack composers ever & Andy's one of the greatest guitarist/session players in R&R history so each one of them (not just Sting) has every right to be bloody cocky bedeedeb--take care then from Mikey (who's seen them twice and Sting solo 7 times)...
I read in the description this is a rehearsal concert, not part of the tour, so...they can make as many mistakes as they want to.... they are The Police
It's nice to see the natural kinks the band had to work through, as they haven't played together in so long. they still sound pretty tight. i love this song.
These old guys still got it , and I thought they were better than the early days , I feel Sting has gotten better as a vocalist and still has amazing power and tone , something many vocalists loss as they age , Copland is still sharp on the drums , and Andy did some tasty stuff in the middle of the song , I don't want to here the studio version of a song anymore , I like the spontaneity, The Police still rock !!!!!!!
For everybody that's saying they wouldn't buy tickets because of this performance. Good. Sit at home and have your friends call you a loser later on for missing the whole thing. I can say from personal experience that they were F**KING AWESOME last week! Even in the SOUNDCHECK they were doing AMAZING! The concert was freakin' ELECTRIC!!! It was honestly the best concert I've ever been to!
As someone who heard them last week, both the concert and the soundcheck, they sound AMAZING compared to a lot of other bands out there right now. Sting also looks great for his age compaired to a lot of other male actors/musicians his age who look like they're knocking on death's door.
I think all the vids from this show/rehearsal are completely charming. They seem to be having a blast. Let's just see if they can keep it up for the whole tour.
Hey Feyd... Yes, speaking of other 80's movies, I did see 2010. I liked that Andy did the soundtrack. I remember seeing the video for 2010 featuring Andy's music in the 80s. Yes, I agree with you, Andy and Stewart both deserve to be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I really liked Stewart's "The Rhythmatist", "Rumble Fish", and was keen on his Equalizer soundtrack. I even saw "Horse Opera" that was done in the UK.
Indeed. And I do hope they got better after this "rehearsal." I would love to see them live, as I never did back in the day; however, after watching this I had to clean my palette immediately by (re)watching "Everybody Stares", the Stewart Copeland documentary. If you haven't seen it already, YOU MUST!
The great thing about sting is even if someone doesn't like his music, he can sell out a concert in minutes... what a performer!
My all-time fav. Police Song. Andy and Stew are legends but without Sting's songwriting brilliance there would have been no Police. He is the true genius in the band and what a superb voice he still has.
These guys are one of the few bands today who can play live and sound as good as the album. GO POLICE!
Yes.
How on earth can he still sing that good and high after all those years ? Role model.
Good genes and working out.
These guys are so good. They have been playing this song for over 25 years and it's still unbelievably crisp. Such a talented group.
saw them in Philly last night too. Just the three guys. no background singers, keyboard's. Just raw power and talent. They could take any young band out today and send them back to the basement.
Live concerts of "The Police" are still a blast!
Best band ever!
They sound tight, like they never stopped playing together! Looking forward to the tour!
I often come to this video to enjoy this tune instead of the original version, I really enjoy the spontaneous feel to it.
Sting is one of the best artist I have ever seen in my lifetime ,but before 20 years ,the police was more better than today .
This was a morning show, awsome.
fantastic drummer
Sting is the one that keep up playing... you can tell.. umbeliveble like always.. i love policeeeee!!!!!
Awesome! The Police are back! Let me repeat that: The Police are back!!! I never thought this would ever happen. I'm gonna get tickets to see them this summer.
this band is amazing!!

wow the voice is just perfect
Very true.
Copeland is verrrrryy underrated.
His cymbal work is above any other living drummer's.
by the end of the tour, the same song will have been rewritten a hundred times over on stage and that's not to mention the thousands upon thousand of times it has been rewritten in each of these guys head's
I love it. They are playing for the music and the music is good.

kewl! good singing, voice, song...AWESOME!!!
This song still grabs me by the brain and never lets go...Sting/Andy Summers/Stewart Copeland--there's a reason these 3 great gentlemen are in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame! Heehee ;-)

I saw them sing this song in the early 80's at the orpheum. Those were the good ole days.

Stewart has had and always will have one of the best sounding drum kits ever.

I read in the description this is a rehearsal concert, not part of the tour, so...they can make as many mistakes as they want to.... they are The Police

No doubt...Saw them in Atlanta and couldn't believe how crisp their sound was...Perfection!!!!!
Live in Toronto November 2007 YAY can't wait
It's nice to see the natural kinks the band had to work through, as they haven't played together in so long. they still sound pretty tight. i love this song.
it depresses me so much to hear older singers lose their awesome voices. sting will always sound like this. thats awesome
I still love the song and the police are real good!
They're back and they're still amazing!

ancora una volta giaccio in ginocchio davanti all'energia che con basso chitarra e batteria sti tre vecchietti sanno tirare fuori.
As someone who heard them last week, both the concert and the soundcheck, they sound AMAZING compared to a lot of other bands out there right now. Sting also looks great for his age compaired to a lot of other male actors/musicians his age who look like they're knocking on death's door.
