Ray’s comedy is very different, it’s very specific and detailed so you have to really listen in order to understand it. Kind of like Tig. It’s fantastic!
I have a big toe in the middle of the screen for the rest of my life now.... this guy is a genius.... and his netflix special is really one of the best I've seen in a long time.
I saw Raymond before he became a star. I was at a seminar in Brea, California and I we had the option to go to a western show or a comedy club. Ray was fantastic, and SO handsome. Imagine my surprise a year later to see him on TV using some of the same humor! EVERYBODY loves Raymond.
One of his great talents is to improv punch lines. This is something that you can see in the Bloopers and even the creator of the show mentioned it. Ray can come up with a different punch line to the same joke as many times as he wants. This makes everybody laughs during the filming of the show even if they have to repeat a scene 100 times.
I am cracking up about him saying "That's your side of the bed FOR LIFE". How very true! I did not know that until we got married & moved in together though! I actually laughed at my husband because he said "This is my side of the bed. I want this side forever!". I really laughed thinking he was joking! Nope, he was not! 😂😂😂😂😂
Wow, I never realized that also... didn't know that this is a real thing. My husband did the same. When we bought our bed he pointed to the left side and told me that he wants to slep on the left side. And adding a "forever". The way he looked at me, I knew he wasn't playing 😂😂 I'm starting to believe that this "forever" thing must be in every males DNA 😂😂😂😂!!! Same does my father to my mother. For him it's "impossible" to sleep on the left side. 😂😂😂
My side of the bed is always the one closest to the window. When we have moved house, away on holidays in various holiday places, I always take the side closest to the window and my husband doesn't mind. No matter how far away the window is from the bed. Maybe my husband doesn't want to be near the window? Apart from that Ray and 'his wife' have always been our tv couple, so much like us. 🤣🤣🤣 I am a foot shorter than my husband too. Married the same amount of time.
@@allnargles Haha! yeah we do. And growing up people would always say Everybody loves Raymond to me, like they were the first to make that joke. My response was always, It's a good show btw. really! I'm not just saying that because of my name.
Ray Romano always does a great interview, he is always so funny and I don't think I've ever seen him use the same material twice when he is on talk shows. I always really enjoy watching his interviews. This audience wasn't the best though.
It's just a thing in developed countries. Because a majority of people do continue to live with their parents even after they get married. The concept of leaving home at 18 or extremely nuclear families is a western concept and hence many people there find it appalling if people continue to live with their families.
Well... His kids are rich by proxy. Lol. However if I lived in that nice of a place with all the amenities at 21 with my mom I wouldn't move out either.
I'm rewating EBLR, and his comment about the TV angle, his wifes foot and only seeing Wed-Sunday weather, is literally a joke line STRAIGHT from the show!! hahaha. Still classic. Still love him. He's the best.
Well, I have all the ELR DVDs and I've watched all those interviews with the producers and writers and let me tell you that around 90% of the show is based on actual events in Ray's life. Of course, they had to come up with a whole new show every week so it's hard to have cool situations happen in your life every week so sometimes they added things that happened to the Creator of the show(Philip Rosenthal). E.g: The Fruit of the Month Club.
Happy Birthday Ray Romano. U have beautiful family, Ray! Seriously!! I respect u. May the Peace be with u Ray. From Harlingen Texas. December 21, 1957 December 21, 2020 though December 21, 3020
When Ray is on late night talk shows the audience is much more receptive - This audience is a bunch of duds - Ellen is not the best at interviewing him - His humor takes a bit of sophistication and listening
the issues he's bringing up about the tv, your side of the bed, pre-started argument, etc. all those came up in Everybody Loves Raymond. Man i miss that show. thank goodness for reruns.
Ellen is so jealous of him she tries to sabotage his jokes constantly. E.g. Ray tells the JOK about bed sides “I made the wrong choice, I didn’t consider the angel, now i have a big toe in front of my tv” Ellen replies “your tv isn’t centered?” like she is a stranger to jokes or funny stories
I'm surprised and amazed that he lived at home until being 29. He had it easy! How many of us can be at home for that long? Then, he made it.....but he didn't have to be a waiter or a bartender, he had a place to live!!!
I just realized that Everybody Loves Raymond doesn't have a character for Ray's fourth child 😅 Probably because his fourth kid was born after the show started
Ray’s comedy is very different, it’s very specific and detailed so you have to really listen in order to understand it. Kind of like Tig. It’s fantastic!
Same with Ricky Gervais, Louis CK, and Lewis Black
His love for his family and wife is beautiful. Frankly, that’s the kind of marriage I want one day!
I love Ray. I could listen to his stories all day. He is sooooooo funny..
my sentiments exactly. What a natural!
I adore him hes so handsome too .he has the whole package.

One of my favorite comedians and a great storyteller. I'm excited to see his stand up special on Netflix. Been waiting for this one Ray!!!

“Go cry in a bag of money” OMG 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Adalyn I am very thing guess I will
And it's a BIG bag of money!
Hey..he is right. If he was my hubby..just put him in the guest room when he sneezes loud. Since that bag of money creates plenty of rooms😂😂😂😂😂
Hahahaha, that was awesome 👍👍
What??!!
“They have a movie theatre they have a trampoline they are not going anywhere” 😂😂
Who's still watching 2019?? My favorite sitcom of all time. ❤
I still watch ELR, whenever it's on!
me 😊🥰
He is really funny, but the audience is dead....
I like Lin-Manuel Miranda more than this dude.
@@ahnyachristieson9544 they are 2 completely different people

It seems very trivial but its not...lol
This is guy is basically a pro golfer. He's humble, and probably didn't want to brag about good he actually is.
He's that Good?
You have the same name!

oh yeah yeah
He's soft and paunchy and looks like he hasn't had a lick of exercise in years.
She said "He's 21 & lives at home??" like it was the strangest thing in the world. Not every one is rich Ellen...
What does being rich have to do with it? We were poorer than dirt and I moved out at 16 to improve my life ha ha
It's just a thing in developed countries. Because a majority of people do continue to live with their parents even after they get married. The concept of leaving home at 18 or extremely nuclear families is a western concept and hence many people there find it appalling if people continue to live with their families.
Not about riches, some people desire independence and others are asked to leave. Every family is different.
Well... His kids are rich by proxy. Lol. However if I lived in that nice of a place with all the amenities at 21 with my mom I wouldn't move out either.
He probably doesn’t want them to move out. He rich and can afford to see his kids as often as possible.

Ray: Roasts his kids with comedy and fun.
My parents: Literally roast me.

That sneeze bit sounds very nostalgic to a episode they filmed in Everybody Loves Raymond
I have a grandfather on my Dad's side of the family named Brian.
The sneeze is real. My husband does it so loud that I want to slap him. The death stare is real in my home. Lol.
Yep. I think it was Debra who sneezed a 'cute' sneeze. LOL! I miss that show!

Yes and they need to undo their mistake and put Everybody Loves Raymond back on Netflix !
That's what he's there promoting. A Netflix special.
Skip 6:20 to 6:30 if you don't want Ellen to spoil the ending of his special like she just did for me
