They fail because of lack of grease , when you grease it make sure you have it jacked up with no weight on the wheel . I had quite few f series trucks like this

It would save a lot of time with air wrench.
I made a press to use right on the truck. Never seen anyone take the front axle out to change king pins before. Lol.

Use proper tool. The hub has two roller bearings. An inner and an outer bearing.
