I totally agree. When u get a chance check out the 5 mins of Funk that my boy DJ DIAMOND The Artist just did. Hot 97 Posted it Yesterday. He Really Killed it. Got the whole Internet Buzzing!!!
I remember back when he used to fill in for Red Alert. I still enjoyed the way he plays his music but he can't talk too much at times and be very arrogant. I I think she feels it's more about him and that the music and how he plays it.
Just Blaze Set : song list. (Two songs I didnt know maybe you can help me out.) 1. Earth Wind & fire - Brazilian Rhyme 2. Billy Squier- The big beat 2.5 Bobby Byrd - I know you got soul 3. Rafii Guasp nah he is n he been bringing back just by the freestyles n the music he plays him n k slay prolly the only niggas that play artist's thats not really heard of but the relating to the real hip hop heads, like the first time i heard of dave east was from flex show nobody else be playing that nigga on radio lol but i get what u saying bout flex he could be annoying at times n open his mouth too much at times but like him or hate him this nigga is still keeping that hip hop feel to the game, the turn table is just another element of hip hop he displaying but it's all opinion bro
Bravo Just Blaze, Great classic breakbeat set, Just Blaze as most of us DJs in our mid 40s were heavily influenced by Jazzy Jeff. Flex needs to get Jeff on here.
I totally agree. I was looking at the positive comments and I was like "Damn, maybe I missed the good parts?" This was not good and props to you for calling it like it should be. No doubt Blaze is better than this right and ain't nothing wrong with having an off day.
Real hip hop it's on the way back to main stream. For me it never left but it's great to see the younger generations hear from where the roots of this genre came from.
Just Blaze a Legend no doubt and overall good set However we not gonna ignore the fact he's one of those strong hand DJs (which is his left) When he did use his right he kinda messed up only used it for transitions
DJ ShaqTown yes he relies on his left hand even for the right platter. i always gave him a slight pass since he probably spends more time in the lab than on the set.
+Bradley Gaju That is Flex set up so that is probably why he doesn't have both tables set to his left. A real DJ supposed to be able to rock any setup. He was nice tho. Made some mistakes but who doesn't. I never knew he was nice in the tables I always knew him as a beat maker.
Yup back when you need Two copies of the same record on the decks, and the mixer switches between them, creating a beat by looping the breaks. Youngsters today don't know anything about this craft cutting is absolutely a work of art
@@ericcaires6423 yes sir indeed I remember when your records were lined up on deck none of that the beats all on the same record I know im from the era of the late 70s when this thing we love and call hip hop today my interpretation of hip hop is so so so much different today but my brotha you specks the truth ✌ peace
This shit is bananas.. this is what type of equipment is out now?? The playlist on on the laptop & the record are in place for scratching but u never have to take the records off to change what song is playing..... that's fucking insane.
Brazilian Rhyme(Interlude) - Earth, Wind and Fire I know you got soul - Bobby Byrd Heaven and Hell Is On Earth - 20th Century Steel Band Theme from S.W.A.T. - Rhythm Heritage Frisco Disco - Eastside Connection Get Up and Dance - Freedom Just some of the few beats and songs i was able to recall.
The dude just gave a history lesson, he put you in the parks back in the day when the DJ would just set up in the parks and run thru a jillion breaks and no verses....and just kill it... back when the DJ was the king!! Hot Set!!
You see him get comfortable and then kills the rest. Blaze be in that zone. One of the best mainstream scratchers, and hands down top 3 producers all time no matter where your from he has to be mentioned. He was ahead of the era he got in and has continued to put out🔥
He is missing the thing that makes Jazzy Jeff and Mr Mixx two of the best ever. They stay on beat , never rush and make it musical. Blaze is rushing. Still a great producer and hip hop head. It's cool seeing him rock.
Not sure why this popped up in my suggestions 3 years later but just Blaze is ok on the ones and twos.. of course reading through the comments there's a lot of comparisons but I say DJ Jazzy Jeff is the cleanest all around DJ is far as selection .. mixing and cutting! Here just blaze didn't mix anything he just cut right into the next song at all different tempos and he rushed a lot of stuff .. I was waiting to hear some kind of blend somewhere but as a Hip Hop producer.. Definitely top 5!
Yezzrrrr, now this is fuck’n Hip Hop Right Here!! Just Blaze ain’t no joke when it comes 2da 1’s & 2’s!! He’s definitely an underrated DJ that has proven to be one of the best that ever did it!! He’s mixed & produced plenty of classic hits, not to mention, he was EPMD’s road DJ. Thank you for your selfless contribution 2da world of Hip Hop my Brother!! 💯🎶 🎤🎧🎼
I come back to this video periodically for inspiration. The comments thou… here’s mine: dude showed up and was like “Flex what are we playing today?” Flex was like - “take ‘‘em back.” And blaze just started off the cuff from his collection of classics. I don’t care that some of the transitions are off or hard. The original samples and transformer scratches are unbelievable - go back and listen to Herman Kelly portion. Love this - no curses just incredible original music that was sampled and repurposed in the golden era… so much 🔥…. ✌🏻
Nah, he's mad sloppy. Any dj with an ear can hear that. His scratches are even wacker. There's plenty of examples of djs with skills cutting breaks. This is embarrassing.
I totally agree. When u get a chance check out the 5 mins of Funk that my boy DJ DIAMOND The Artist just did. Hot 97 Posted it Yesterday. He Really Killed it. Got the whole Internet Buzzing!!!
Just blaze doesn't get enough recognition for what he has done in Hip Hop music, definitely one of the greatest producers in this generation.
LoyalLFC exactly, he's my favorite... gave Hov all those classics on the blueprint
Deshun Williams yeahh man The Blueprint 1 was one of my favourite Hov albums because of Just Blaze
LoyalLFC let's not get distracted, Swizz still bodied cuh in that beat battle
BRAWLIC215 not really, he just ended it with that unreleased Nas track at the end .
BRAWLIC215 I'll take Just over Swizz any day of the week.
Say what you want about flex he does it for the culture ! Last of the Mohicans 💕✨🔥👏🏽
I totally agree. When u get a chance check out the 5 mins of Funk that my boy DJ DIAMOND The Artist just did. Hot 97 Posted it Yesterday. He Really Killed it. Got the whole Internet Buzzing!!!
I agree he’s just annoying when he interviews artists.
I remember back when he used to fill in for Red Alert. I still enjoyed the way he plays his music but he can't talk too much at times and be very arrogant. I I think she feels it's more about him and that the music and how he plays it.
I gives props to hot97!!! thank you for putting just blaze under the sun!!! I love that turntable magic

Jazzy Jeff is most definitely the GOAT!
Flex is slowly bringing back real Hip Hop to Hot97 (fuck wit my music videos on my channel)
STAK yeah and DJ magic too with his freestyles in his car I love it bring that Hiphop flavor back please
Rafii Guasp You dumb fucker. He is making niggas rap, playing fire music, and trashing mumble rap.
Rafii Guasp its not that but the freestyles is set. but adding this to the show is A-1 and what most hip-hop heads want. I'm tuned in
true
Bravo Just Blaze, Great classic breakbeat set, Just Blaze as most of us DJs in our mid 40s were heavily influenced by Jazzy Jeff. Flex needs to get Jeff on here.

I feel like I'm back in the Bronx right now.. I love it
Real hip hop it's on the way back to main stream. For me it never left but it's great to see the younger generations hear from where the roots of this genre came from.

Just blaze just took it way back
This is why I was breaking niggas on NBA Street Vol 2 with him. You can barely see the man's hands!
Just Blaze a Legend no doubt and overall good set
However we not gonna ignore the fact he's one of those strong hand DJs (which is his left) When he did use his right he kinda messed up only used it for transitions
DJ ShaqTown yes he relies on his left hand even for the right platter. i always gave him a slight pass since he probably spends more time in the lab than on the set.
+Bradley Gaju nooooooo. Have you ever touched turntables ? Lol studied the art ? Lmao
Bradley Gaju Premo...
+Bradley Gaju That is Flex set up so that is probably why he doesn't have both tables set to his left. A real DJ supposed to be able to rock any setup. He was nice tho. Made some mistakes but who doesn't. I never knew he was nice in the tables I always knew him as a beat maker.

SHOUT OUT TO DJ KOOL HERC, THE MAN THAT INVENTED THIS CRAFT
Michael S. I personally like the old school vinyl way of Djing with no laptop
there's the smaller versions that don't even use vinyl
somebody needs to be the mvp and comment all the songs he used

He is missing the thing that makes Jazzy Jeff and Mr Mixx two of the best ever. They stay on beat , never rush and make it musical. Blaze is rushing. Still a great producer and hip hop head. It's cool seeing him rock.
THAT'S THAT ORIGINAL FLAVOR IN YOUR EAR BRING IT BACK FLEX AND JUST BLAZE CAME A Long
Just Blaze just killed it!!!
I dig how he makes homeboy make a quick, freestyle mix; instead of just juggling...Like they all can do.👍🏾✊🏾
Just blaze is a good Dj.
Just blazeeee!!
legend with the beats. ok with the scratching and juggling
i kinda like that this wasnt too tight. it wasn't like a battle routine, more like something you could hear in a club and be like ooooh shiiiiit! :-D
I want to see more battles, no egos just skills
Just killed all the breaks, Salute my Mello
Don't Stop the Blaze!
Just Blaze has dope song knowledge, he can scratch but he can't mix and the transitions are off beat
I love his craft but you are correct. The mixing left a lot to be desired.
This is correct!☝🏽
Off beat for sure.
I agree for some transitions but you cannot say it for all of them. Great Set !
A complete disaster
I'm impressed
Salute to Flex, he’s one of very few people attempting to maintain the true essence of real Hip-Hop.
Justin Blaze! This was heat.
Compared to the level of guys that come on here, this was really sub par..even the juggles were barely above bedroom DJ level.. Great producer though
It’s clear he’s been spending more time behind the boards than behind the decks.
I agree!! DJ Scram is my favorite.
Whoa! All the joints from my era!
I remember Hot 97 wit Mr Magic×Mr Cee,now Flex play that classic throwbacks,Kool red alert was there..
