    Roger was a gem. I loved it when he quoted Chaucer or some other classic author. He probably should have retired earlier before he got hurt on the job. I think he was about 80

    No restorer in his right mind would agree to a restoration for a fixed fee up front; there are too many unknowns and surprises. Restorations must be done by the hour and parts costs.

    I thought he and Wayne were good friends but Wayne obviously tossed him aside when he needed help - so sad. Apparently no health ins. for garage employees and where was L&I if he got hurt on the job? They wouldn't have continued doing the show if they weren't making money and yet Roger(a favorite) neve got a dime for his part. Shame on you Wayne!

      @@MrHarleyoldfart You need to watch the show and then you need to re-read my comment. Roger was a friend of Wayne and an important part of the show yet never got anything for his part in the show. Never got any assistance from his friend Wayne who turned his back on him when he got hurt in Wayne's shop. Roger was a favorite of fans and those fans are pissed off about how Roger was treated!!

    He seems like an elitist snob to me, and drives me nuts with his adding in auction fees to make it look like he made more money on a sale, while simultaneously omitting them on what he buys to make it look like he got a better deal.

      You do realize how auctions work dummy. The sellers don’t pay anything besides a minimal listing fee if anything, the buyers pay the premium.

    I have had the honor of being Wayne's escort and golf cart driver the last two years at the Chattanooga Motorcar Festival. What has impressed me so much about Wayne has been his respect for the spectators who would like to meet him. Wayne takes the time to talk to people, asking about their cars and lives, and always is willing to spend time with the folks on a non superficial level. He told me he more and more wants to spend time with his family. That explains why we may not see him as often. Anyway, he is a super guy and I wish him and his family good health and much happiness together.

    Always thought he would never give anyone a bargain, always wanting top dollar+ for his cars, which as a businesman is fine but on the other hand it is driving up prices for the average guy.

    In the beginning I watched the series regularly. After a while I however got a bit of a sour taste from it. Mostly from the hoity toity expensive car world it described in general. That whole trade is always out to make a ridiculous killing by massaging peoples purses. Extremely staged series about making easy money where all the rage then anyway. Carini seemed to be a happy fish in those waters but I’d rather watch Flipping Bangers, etc.

    Why do the auctioneers talk like they come from mars !! Whats the point ?
    If i went to an auction where someone was talking like they are a crack head i would have to take my money elsewhere.

    This is purely my opinion. To me he seemed a bit disingenuous. I always thought he was more about the money. His "passion" for a particular car seemed a lot like a sales pitch than true sentiment. It's important to understand that he gets commissions for for finding cars for people so the cheaper he can buy a car is where he makes his real money. Again ... My personal take.

  • @mikerca
    @mikerca 7 месяцев назад +2

    Loved the show and found it interesting but could not stand when every time he bought a car, he would run into another room with the seller, never to reveal the sale price of the car. Imagine American Picker’s Mike Wolfe doing that every time he buys something. That’s the whole point of the show ! Ridiculous.

  • @Bradydog-in7ut
    @Bradydog-in7ut 8 месяцев назад +6

    I loved his show but always got the feeling he real buys cheap and sells at the top of the market. Some say that’s good business; others say he puts the screws to both buyers and sellers. I’d watch his show but never buy a car off of him.

    • @nalatreborrenoclaf9648

      He seems to loose money often at the auctions so it's swings and roundabouts.if people aren't happy with a price he may offer for a car then sell it elsewhere.if his showroom prices are to high then make an offer or go elsewhere.its a business after all and there's staff to pay .if it wasn't for people like Wayne nobody would have a job .seems like a good guy .
