    1. Don't come here in winter. It looks nothing like what is shown in this video. We rarely have any snow - and when we do we have it for like a week, then it turns into slush and ice.
    2. They sort of give the impression that the museums in Gothenburg are fairly close by, but they ain't, you most likely want to rent a car if you want to visit the Aeroseum, for example.
    3. Slottskogen is the biggest park in the city, but Änggårdsbergen is definitely worth visiting if you want to go for a hike or even do some trail running. It's 10 minutes south of Slottskogen.
    4. There's no "Midsummer festival" in Gothenburg. There's an event in Slottskogen on Midsommar that lasts for a couple of hours, but that's it, most of us go visit friends and family. So what you see in these clips are from private gatherings, not some "festival".
    5. Gothenburg is an industrial city with a botched historical architecture - so if you're looking for "views", go to Stockholm. They've preserved more historical buildings than Gothenburg.

    • @Zedd0z

    I'm an American expat and have been living in Hisingen, Göteborg (Gothenburg) since June 2011. Lol. You are killin me with the pronunciation, it's all good though. A little FYI trivia Gothenburg is referred to as "Little London" due to the fact it rains more here than London. In my opinion only best time to visit is between May and August or at the earliest April 30 which we celebrate Valborg with big bon fires in the park and music and food.

    • @evawettergren7492
      @evawettergren7492 2 года назад +2

      Very true. I lived in Gothenburg for 12 years and the only reason I chose to leave was due to the rain. Rain accompanied by wind, so umbrellas were not really that useful as they just got ripped by the wind. Often one could see what we called 'umbrella corpses' on the streets, mangled umbrellas people had just discarded. I did love the city in the summer though and it is probably one of the nicest places to walk around in. Definitely visit in summer. (never ever in fall... unless you enjoy being cold and wet)

      @@Hando316 Interestingly enough, even us swedes from the very north (I live very close to the polar circle) find that Gothenburg is a lot colder in winter... even when the temperature isn't as low as it gets up north. It is probably due to how wet it also is around Gothenburg. Cold and wet. Not comfortable at all. While it gets very cold in the north at times it is a dry cold and doesn't feel as bad. I was more comfortable with -20 C in the north than -2 in Gothenburg.

    • @outlawfly664
      @outlawfly664 Год назад +7

      Nah, Gothenburg is way better city with more soul and history. The structure of the city is also more compact and better, while Stockholm is more sprawled out and disconnected, you need a car to get to places similar to LA. Stockholm is a overrated joke, never liked that city one bit, the city is only a recent hype which kickstarted since 2010. Before 2010. no one talked about that city or it's nightlife.
      People in Gothenburg is way better, they have more cooler and profitable shopping malls, more iconic stadiums and sport teams including history, better theme park, better industry with more sustainable economy, better festivals especially in the summer, a real sea, better location close to other countries such as Norway, Denmark etc, even Copehagen which is closer to Gothenburg than Stockholm is a better city to spend time in than Stockholm.
      Gothenburg even used to have the biggest festival in northern Europe (Göteborgskalaset) and was the go to party place in the early 90s to mid 2000s until the government shut that down because they didn't get enough share of the pie from all the profit from black clubs and because they hate Gothenburg and loves to invest in projects around Stockholm. I remember back in 2004 when i was traveling to Stockholm in the mids of Göteborgskalaset in the summer, Stockholm was literally a graveyard back then. No one spent time there nor talked about that city, nor it's overhyped and pretentious Stureplan. Everyone, even people from Stockholm, and even tourists from neighbouring countries, including from the UK was partying every summer in Gothenburg. Everything big you see in Stockholm, from Kista mall to Friends arena was all built after 2010 with government funding projects in that boring city to catch up to Gothenburg because again they hate Gothenburg, they want to attract all the attention to Stockholm because it was dominated by Gothenburg in the 90s and 2000s. Meanwhile Gothenburg historically have invested with their own budget in projects.

      Also which credible institution has labeled Stockholm as the "Venice of the north" or the most beautiful city in the world? • @outlawfly664
      @outlawfly664 Год назад

      @@drivingbro Lmao no offense, seriously no offense but that has to be the biggest joke I've heard this year. Obviously you need to get your eyes checked. Have you even been to Prague? Prague is lightyears ahead of Stockholm in literally every aspect, from architecture and activities to people. There a reason why it's a main tourist attraction in Europe. Even famous travelers who's been to every place in the world, like Drew Binsky list Prague as his favorite city in Europe. Again, no one talked about Stockholm in the 90s and 2000s. Been living in Sweden for over 30 years. Immigrants or multi-ethnic societies are in every country, It's not the 18th century anymore, get used to it. The problem is the government which can't integrate the immigrants they bring into society and there's not a lot of jobs and opportunities which trigger organized crime. Ocean? What ocean? Östersjön? Do you call "bräckt vatten" as we say in Swedish a real ocean?

    • @drivingbro
      @drivingbro Год назад

      @@outlawfly664 you need to calm down alittle ;) i just wrote sthlm was better before they started building so many new ugly buildings and it got overpopulated, now its too many people and traffic. And i wrote the nature of sthlm is more beautiful than prague, im sure the buildings and architecture is better i prague but its way different than sthlm, which truly is the venice of the north. Also, we can agree to different opinions, no need to argue.
      I know all about the immigration so no need to give me lessons.
      And i wrote there is no ocean near Karlstad.. only a big sea, Vänern, which does kinda remind you of ocean atleast :)
      And the ocean near Stockholm is very clean actually, i know its called baltic "sea" but is a part of the ocean, you can really tell the difference comparing it to Vänern which is an actual sea. You dont get that ocean smell and the water isnt as clear, used to live in Nynäshamn before and there was crystal clear water in some places, really nice in the summer
