God I hate this mission. He's not even going that fast, the game just artificially slows you down to a granny walk (and makes lasso throws miss) to stop you catching him.

I’m literally searching through the comments for an answer how to ACTUALLY TACKLE him. Because you’re right. I was right in front of the kid and he got away four times. I’ll be honest, it’s a fun game but I do not understand why the world is groveling at its feet.
I remember one run in which as you're able to get control of Arthur I shot at the wagon driver (not hitting him) but did chase him and managed to catch the kid before he got onto the trolly.
Shooting the wagon causes it to slow down. You can then catch up to him when he's out of his predetermined foot path before the trolley. This is the quickest way.
@@sirnooby9192 So the horses will still go but the AI seems to kind of glitch out a bit as the kid gets off the cart and just runs against the barrels a bit and if you're keeping up, it'll give you enough time to tackle the kid as he's trying to get on the trolly. I actually just did it again just now. Edit: In this playthrough I just did, there was a wagon that was still there behind the barrels which helped slow the kid down.

This goddamn mission had me spent the whole night trying "fix" it. I ended up using the incendiary buckshot, it should be very available when you get to Chp.4. It's roughly as follows: 1, go to the trapper, buy the "incendiary buckshot" pamphlet. 2, find it in your satchel and read it. 3, craft it using a shotgun shell and a moonshine(you only need one shot for this mission). 4, when the chasing begins, pull out your shotgun equipped with this shot, shoot the back of the cart/carriage(just shoot into it, not really a skill shot). 5, the incendiary shot should set the cart blazing, causing the driver to run off, and Cleet to jump off, and you just grab him right there. It's quite simple and doesn't require many tries AFAIK. The explosive shots and fire arrows or bottles do not work. I've wasted so much time trying that, just use the incendiary shot and save you some brain cells.
On PS4/5 I figured out you have to press circle, or whatever the melee button is for you. I tried the way in the video 4+ times with no luck until I tried circle and got him easy Good luck 👍
I tried following multiple strats in the comments to catch him, but while trying that I somehow managed to catch him at the gate. I just quickly spammed f at the gate and he was still standing there after i kicked open the door
They’ve ignored this game for years but have patched shit to make the game more annoying. You used to be able to ride the hose and catch him as soon as he gets off the trolly but now they slow you down or speed the trolly up. It’s easy to get to the part when he jumps off the building instead of you climbing up it, but I was literally standing there waiting on him and I couldn’t tackle him when he landed and he teleported around the corner. I refuse to let that little shit take my bag and have to deal with those fucking kids but I’m so tired of this mission.

This game is complete bullshit during this mission. And the fact that one of the mission challenges is to catch the kid pisses me off more
Something funny happened in my game... the kid somehow got stuck for second or two by some carriage on the street and missed the trolley so I just ran up to him and took my money back lol
i always get the kid as soon as he jump out of the trolly all you had to do is ride horse as close as the trolly as possible careful don't run over anything it saint denis it hard to ride fast and then get out of your horse the same time the kid does run straight to market which is where the kid will heading as soon as we get near enough spam F to takle him i play on pc i don't know how in console
It's easy to hate these kids. But to be fair, John and Arthur most likely did stuff like this when they were kids too. Not in a city. Probably in a smaller town

I just uploaded a video doing this today and In my opinion is the easiest and most legit way that I’ve ever seen anywhere. If I’m not the first let me know but Ive looked at countless videos and honest to god I haven’t seen it anywhere on RUclips. Y’all should come check it out for an easy way to catch this little thief

There is a cheat mod where you can catch up to the trolley and them tackle him once he gets off. It's called Rampage.
