    I have an old Selmer Mk VI and the first alt (1,3,4 +Eb) works great and I used that playing this number in bands.

    Video on tonguing in the altissimo range? Also I always see that Kaizen thing and it reminds me of learning about it and Sigma6 in engineering lol.

    Would it be possible to purchase a hard copy of your altissimo studies?? I would be willing pay more if necessary

      It is very difficult logistically to have it set up. I'm hoping that with enough sales of the digital version, I can set it up in the near future

      Faure "Pavane". I used a similar loop from Xzibit's "Paparazzi"

    how do you get such clear tone and in tune altissimo notes?

      Keep a sufficient airflow and an open throat!

      It's the ligature that does this 😁

      Airflow is hugely important. I treat altissimo like it is a regular part of the sax

    Since I have a horn without the high F#, should I sell it for one with it?

    • @Sirvalorsax
      @Sirvalorsax  3 года назад +2

      There is a lot of value in the sound of vintage saxes that don't have one so it's a tough call for vintage horns. I personally would never buy a modern sax without one

    At the risk of sounding like the snarky lazy old fart I happen to be, why not just grab a soprano?

    • @MrGeolm
      @MrGeolm 3 года назад

      because pitch is not the only thing that make a sound. Same pitch play on alto or tenor doesn't sound the same. Even if all saxophone have the same keys, there are not made exactly similar, the cone angle, the bore are different.
