Nice demo. Trying to find a cover of this that isn't overplayed, over complicated or full of fills that don't belong is very difficult. I appreciate you keeping it simple .... thanks!
Awesome! I really like the part about the stick clicks - I've had troubles trying to fit that into the beat. I would just hit the rim of the snare, but I'm definitely going to try it your way!
Cool, thanks! Just one thing, when you play the complete beat up to speed you add a bass drum beat on the second and fourth bar right after the first snare hit. Otherwise, excellent stuff! :)
For me personally this drum part would take me a certain amount of practice. A little tricky. Maybe it could be put into the catagory of the famous Roxanne Shuffle, or 50 ways yo leave your lover. It s clever or should I say different. From playing a straight 4 on closed hi hat and snare.
Continued ...Which a drummer like me with basic imagination would play.. Ringo Star had a hell of imagination on Beatles records. Does anybody know who the drummer is on this song.
It’s certainly iconic in a similar way to Rosanna and 50 Ways - if you played this drum part out of context with no music a lot of people would still know what song it was. Wikipedia reckons the producer Shellback played the drums - not sure if there’s any samples in there or what the recording process was.
Hey nice tutorial. One query, is there any way you can make the drum sheet any clearer? I am struggling to read it which is making me unable to play it properly. Thanks
ruclips.net/video/4SAhwBA5FYw/видео.htmlsi=FOu7-uFmfEZAJfkN I’ve listened to your tutorial at least 100 times. I dedicated my version specifically to you. The is the “Muck around mix” if I’m happy your happy.
Hey! There's a transcription over on learnsomedrums.com that might be helpful. Otherwise just give it some time - these grooves don't always come together that easily. If you have any specific questions about it let me know.
because, drumming. That's why! Oh and if you wanna work as a drummer, This is what you need to know. Work is good, drumming is good. Both together is great.
As an educator, I appreciate you making these available. The transcription is a big help!

For the stick clicks, you could have an extra drum and use its rim. That is how I learned it.

The stick clicks are on the rim of the snare , much easier than the stick ,
I thought so too Kyla

No worries! Yeah it's definitely a bit of a weird one, but take it slow and keep at it and it will come together.
I still can’t figure out where the sticks come into play😭

do you hit the hi hat open, and then close it as you kick the bass? i know this vid was posted long ago but please answer T_T
Hello! Kick the bass with the open hi hat- so your right foot will go down while your left foot goes up - and then close the hats just after that!
