- New SeaWorld Orlando Roller Coaster coming 2024. SeaWorld Orlando new ride opening date is unreleased, expected to open Spring 2024. Penguin Trek features two launches and a top speed of 43mph. The ride had just over 3000 feet of track.
I like the idea of B&M moving into this market- family coasters are where the money is now, and B&M hasn't made too many rides focusing on quick, twisty maneuvers like this (in the past they've favored massive, graceful, and powerful elements, which just doesn't match the current popular design language the other manufacturers are using). A B&M "family blitz" seems like a good idea.
That said, I hope they've done the profiling and set the speed in such a way that this ride is still exciting. It can always be hard to tell from a pov, but I think if this ride runs too slow, it could just be boring. I hope they gave it some whip.
The animations make the coaster seem slow. Most animations of coasters are rushed and they try to make the coaster look very smooth which makes it seem slow. It’ll be faster
You should also take into consideration that this is a family ride so even if it is slow, it’s not designed to be a fast exiting terrifying ride, it’s meant to be a family friendly coaster not a scary one.
It looks pretty cool to me. SeaWorld has got some really cool coasters 😊
Seeing it in person really puts into perspective how tall some of these elements are. These are still big ass b&m tracks.

@@fanta104 I think it will have good themeing. I heard they're doing an indoor section with a screen, cold Temps, and fans to simulate being in the cold

Yeah I know its a family coaster and also from B&M but to be honest, this looks pretty boring and I think it probably also isnt quit the cheapest ride. In my opinion for that money you could have way better family attractions

Yeah I agree. They could've gone with a winged coaster and SeaWorld Entertainment would have it all. Penguin trek is cute but a fluke!
Reliability is a big selling point for B&M and parks risk a lot by going with less reliable rollercoaster makers. I mean look at Steel Curtain at Kennywood. A badass ride that unfortunately can't run due too unreliability issues and will be closed for the entire 2024 season. Penguin Trek is also a surf coaster so I'm sure that'll raise excitement factor.

Just an educated guess here..but seeing that this family coaster is the 2nd prototype from B&M in 2 years this park has installed, I'd imagine they are getting a deal on these. That's probably why.
@@mattr3922 Along with getting deals for being prototypes, SeaWorld is just a stone's throw away from IAAPA. The value B&M would get for showcasing their unique coaster models during the world's largest amusement industry expo would be immense.
Family coasters are mega popular and B&Ms are reliable and rarely break down

@@metallicnole4514 family coaster are popular if done right like Cheetah Hunt .. it's the least impressive ride at BGT yet the wait times are over 150 mins on average while all the other rides are usually in their low 30s. Cheetah is fast, long and takes you out over the park terrain. This is what i thought Penguin Trek was going to be but it's just another "in place" roller coaster that doesn't really traverse the park and scream, "hey ride me!" in BGT you can see Cheetah Hunt from almost any location in the park.

Well the rumors were that it would go out over the water near Mako and Kraken but that's not the case. It would have been awesome if the ride did this. Turned out to be just a compact kiddy ride.
Cheetah hunt is the best ride I’ve ever been on, I don’t go to theme parks often though so I don’t have a long list of rides I’ve been on

The funny thing is kids of this generation don't like kiddy coaster .. they prefer wild stuff like Mako, Kraken and Manta. Kids would find this ride super lame but it would work out for scary cat moms who are afraid of intense rides to be able to ride with their toddlers.

Typical coaster that probably costs millions of dollars..Yeah ill take the credit..However i would've gone with a water coaster similar to SFOG..Since water rides are popular in Florida..

They didn’t have a good collection of family coasters so they added some and most of their customers are families with kids too. They’ll add another thrill coaster in the next 3-5 years prolly
