As being a mechanical engineer, I have designed offroad ATV for SAE BAJA. Indepenedent Suspension is far better in articulation and have more tyre contact patch, than dependent suspension. There is negligible camber variation in independent suspension. According to me this most important parameter for suspension design. But independent suspension will work at its full potential if active or semi active dampers struts are installed. There must tunable damping and spring stiffness. One of the Major drawback of independent suspension is they are very difficult to design and manufacture. Wishbones arms and steering upright are very complex geometries. also the linkage and heim joints being used in it are not very strong for offroad purpose.

Mahindra Thar 2020 has managed to generate a whole lot of buzz since it was first unveiled on August 15. Now while the Thar has always been renowned for how it manages to make a mockery of any on-road and off-road challenge, it wasn't much on counts of cabin space and comfort. Mahindra has sought to change all of that as it looks to make Thar 2020 appeal to a wider set of audience instead of being a very capable niche player in the Indian automobile market.
I drive in Mumbai. I have seen potholes much steeper than the offroad craters. Go than further Mumbai in places like Ambernath and further and you will find these roads to be luxurious as compared to the roads there. Long story short: If you are living in India, your offroad cars need to be off-road capable. Maybe even have capability to float like a boat when required.
Very nice my friend . But many of things I do in my tuv 300. . As it is only 2 wheel drive. Like incline decline. And off road. But exactly thar is more powerful and gud. I am going to buy one more suv.

Definitely it's a big improvement over the old Thar, but keeping in mind that 90% people don't go off road which the Thar is made for... the price tag would decide the future of it's sales ....since if the leaked price is correct it's gonna be between 10 to 14 lakh ex showroom and keeping in mind the creature comfort it offers that's quite high... compared to it's competition....await people's comment.

Mahindra is a pride of India. But still lots of challenges are there to compete with international brands like Jeep. Jeep is still way ahead of Thar.
For the price Thar beats any imported vehicles.
