Greetings all, as discussed in the video. Pre-orders are live on indiegogo. Early bird pricing $189 for the 6gb + 128gb unit $219 8gb +256gb unit and $249 for the 8gb +256gb limited addition unit. It also comes with a gift box of an enamel mug, portable storage bag, portable stand, tempered film, joystick cap and stickers. I called the early bird price in the video i.e. between $150-$200,didn't think they would go over $200 on the reatil price though but Ayaneo being Ayaneo is going to do that. Estimated Shipping is in September. Retail will be $219 for the 6gb + 128gb, $249 on the 8gb+256gb version and $279 for the limited addition. Would still want to see some hands on reviews but that is a bit rich for my wallet. Unless you reeeeaaaallllyy want something that powerfull in such a small form factor i would rather opt for the RG Cube or possibly even the Rg405m. The ZPG A1 unicorn has exactly the same chip with a bigger 1:1 screen at less than $150 so the micro would not be my first choice. There will definitely be some comparison video's on this so stay tuned!
IMO there's a reason most things in this form factor are 640x480: Most games people play on them are either 480p or 240p, and it's a perfect integer scale. The higher resolution makes sense since this is designed around 3D games, which render at any resolution and will look smoother. It's a pretty small screen to play those games on though.
Thnaks for the feedback, i am still catching up on Integer scaling on these so the info is very helpful. Agree with you on the screen though it is quite small for higher end games. But people seem to love being able to play those games on such a small form factor if i consider the responses i've seen on the RG28xx and the Rg35xx H.
@@TheTechUpdate-ui1fh If the physical screen resolution is an exact number of times (N) bigger than the emulated game, it can just use N by N blocks of pixels for each game pixel and it will look perfectly sharp and all its pixels will be the same size. If it's a fractional number of times bigger, you can have some game pixels bigger than others, or blurry scaling -- like what happens with a DS game in a 3DS -- or you can have a smaller but perfect picture with a black border around it. It matters a lot less with 3D games since those can generally be rendered at any resolution and look great. I have an RG35XX SP, which is 640x480. 480p games are already the exact size of the screen. 240p games can be shown with a pixel-perfect 2x scale, or a CRT filter. And 3D PS1 games can also be run at 480p which looks very crisp and clear at that small screen size.
@@joemck85 Thanks so much for the detailed explanantion. That cleared up a lot of things in regards to integer scaling for me. Appreciate the feedback😁👍
Yip you can but it hink ayaneo is banking on the fact that this unit is more pocketable to atract buyers. Most oft he devices i have seen from them are marketed as Premium. That being said I would rather go for a RG Cube or even the ZPG A 1 unicorn before i consider this device. Thanks for watching.
Feels line a direct competitor to the anbernic 405m which is probably my all time favorite retro device almost exactly because it was so perfectly pocketable and felt amazing in the hands
It does doesn't it. Not sure though but i think the Helio G99 chip is a tad more powerful than the T618 in the 405M though. Price is a bit crazy though. Thanks for watching.
Yes and apparently it is around $340 with a snapdragon G3x gen 2 chipset. Same as what is in the Ayaneo Pocket S. Not a bad price for such a premium chipset. Thanks for watching.
It will run quite a few PS2 games but not all of them unfortunately. Ayanoe also released a vertical handhled called the pocket DMG. It has a much more powerful processor that will run all PS2 and gamecube games. It starts at $340 though at earlybird pricing. So that may be worth a look aswell if you are willing to pay a bit more. Thanks for watching
Nothing different of what´s already in the market. maybe only the premium materials. For that price you can already get something similar, the same emulation, functions and specs, better looks, and most important, already tested and bug fixed. This release would be big like one year ago, now is more of the same.
It is the same chip that is already in some handhelds but only the Magicx Mini has to analogue sticks on such a small form factor. The design is different aswell but I'm not sure if people will like it. Have to agree with you though it would have made much more of an impression had it come earlier. Thanks for watching
Certainly won't be the gold standard of anything, as its not very micro or small for a start and the MTKG99 cpu is generally weaker than all it's competitors. RG cube, Retro Pocket 4 / 4 Pro etc
Pricewize Ayaneo seems to think it is the Gold standard though. I will reserve judgement on that. I want to hear what the hands on reviewers have to say about it before i decide. Thanks for watching!

They announced the prices today! Good job setting those background music trends!

Wow!!! $190 starting. You can buy the RS Pocket 4 Pro or the RN Cube for that price. Those are way better machines.

If it can run the ps2 emu , I would like to have this.

what handheld in that size can play demanding gamecube and ps2 games at solid 60 fps?
