    At $60 range, the anbernic RG 40XXV is a no brainer... They need to replace those sticks, but overall anbernic is the best option on the market in the $50-$80 and $150-$180 segment.

      It is a good deal for the kind of handheld they offer. I am a Trimui Fan but if i had to choose in this comparison i would choose the V for that larger screen mostly. Thanks for watching

    I'd buy the RG40XX V so fast if the analog stick was like the ones in the 406V/H. I'm sure they will release more consoles on the XX series with this new stick tho, so I'll wait :)

    • @TheTechUpdate-ui1fh
      @TheTechUpdate-ui1fh 8 часов назад

      I know there was a software fix for the Analog sticks on the MuOs Bannas custom firmware but it would require installing a completely new OS. They have released so many xx handhelds i cannot imagine how they would do more but they keep suprising me in that regard so it seems your hope is not completely unfounded. It would be cool to get a horisontal or vertical xx version with better sticks though. Thanks for watching.

    • @jonathonearl482
      @jonathonearl482 20 часов назад

      @@gustavo9758 I'm not so sure about that. I have had a few XX series handhelds from ANBERNIC and I found the sound to not get loud enough. Which is why I gave all of my XX ANBERNICs away except for my RG28XX. I replaced the XXs with other handhelds like the Trimui Brick and ANBERNIC 406V. The 406V, even though it's a portrait, it has 2 stereo speakers that sound phenomenal. While the sound of the Brick isn't as good as the 406V, it does have a higher volume control level lacks a little bass to some degree but sounds just decent enough.

      @TheTechUpdate-ui1fh 8 часов назад

      From the reviews i've seen it sounds comparable to the 40XXV, i have not had hands on though so i can't say 100% for sure which is the best. Thanks for watching though

    Wondering if someone has a good vertical console with good performance in PS2 games, with 2 sticks and with the same size as on video? I saw on Anbernic RG406V, but it has a bigger size.

    • @TheTechUpdate-ui1fh
      @TheTechUpdate-ui1fh 8 часов назад

      Hi there, if you specifically want 2 sticks your options are limited. The Rg405 or 406V are the only ones i know of that fit the above description but they are very chunky. Ayaneo has a unit called the Pocket DMG that has a extremely powerfull chip that will play PS2 brilliantly but it is roughly 6 times the cost of the 40xxV at around $340, and it only has 1 stick. You can check out my reaction to its launch anouncement at this link if you're interested: ruclips.net/video/ucZCXqwAHY8/видео.html

    Solid video, I always like what you put out. Couple things, TrimUI CPU isn’t behind the screen (check my breakdown video) or I guess metal back plate. It really doesn’t get much warmer than most handhelds esp this thin as you are feeling heat from the display. The RG40xxV is one of my favorite handhelds this year but the Brick is the best EDC handheld as the RG40xxV is a little wide for most pockets with that 4” display.

    Only 1 GB? Dissapointing. I don't know much about that cpu or anything at all tbh but just 1 gb ram? I guess just play anything that's gba,snes,nes or just easy to emulate systems ( anything that's not using a disc ).

    • @TheTechUpdate-ui1fh
      @TheTechUpdate-ui1fh 3 дня назад

      Hi there, yes unfortunately for the price these units come in at you cannot really expect anything more. The processor (if the runmours are true) has been used in some other handhelds so you should even be able to play some disc based games like PS1 and some PSP but the 16:9 format content will not be great on the type of screen this will have. You should also be able to play some Sega Dreamcast and Nintendo 64 games aswell. There is a whole world of these to suit almost every preference. The more expensive ones can even emulate up to PS2 and Gamecube and do things like run PC games through the winlator emulator. I cover a lot of them on my channel. Thanks for watching though,

      It is not a massive leap in perfromance between these 2. The RP5 looks much better and from what iu can gather the screen does make more of an impact. I would ays it would be worth the upgrade if you can sell your RP4 pro and cover at least half the cost of getting the RP5 if not you might be better off getting something like the Ayn odin 2 if it is not too bulky for you. It is more expensive but it packs a lot more punch in terms of performance. Thanks for watching

I am now at a loss. Should I consider an Odin 2 or Odin mini over the RP5? I never looked into the Odin series due to price but now it is within reach. What does everyone think? Odin 2 without question. For me the only reason to get an RP5 over an Odin 2 is to get the GC color variant which is pure novelty.

    • @TheTechUpdate-ui1fh
      @TheTechUpdate-ui1fh 18 дней назад

      Personally i would say get the Odin 2 if you have a coupon that puts in in the same price range as the RP5. Once again this is purely from a analytical viewpoint based on the research i have been doing as i ihave not had hands on with it. Based on what i know though the Odin 2 is just more future proof and will run everything better. It also has a much bigger battery so you will be able to play longer. It is bulkier from what i have seen but the RP5 isn't super pocketable either. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching.

      Hi There, I have not had hands on with these devices yet but im going to try and do my best to help based on the research i've been doing. From what i've seen If you bought the unit with a gamecard full of games you should be able to pop it in boot up the device and once you've gone through the initial android setup swipe down and choose the "Game mode" option to get into what is called Anbernics frontend. This is basically an app through which you can launch all your games. It should have a lisgt of systems that you can scroll through so if you want to play PS1 game for example you would scroll to the Sony PSX icon and it should take you to a list of games to play. The naming is usually abbreviated so it can be confusing. Joey over at Joey's retro handhelds has a detailed setup guide that he did on the RG556 which is the larger horizontal version of the Rg406V and it should be very similar with the 406V. Yo ucan view it at this link: ruclips.net/video/P47nDBgtoLE/видео.html. Hope that helps.lety me know if you have any other questions and ill see what iu can do.Thanks for watching my video.

      Hi there, it really depends on what your circumstances are. If you have enough to get the RP mini i would say get it as it has some noteworthy advantages over the cube. If your a bit strapped for cash the RG cube will serve you well aswell as it can play most of what the RP Mini can play. Just note due to its screen size you will probably have back bars at the top and bottom of the screen if you want to play 4:3 content such as any old Nintendo SNES or Sega games. Hope this helps if you have any more questions feel free to ask.

      @TheTechUpdate-ui1fh 24 дня назад

      I honestly don't know much about the switch lite but the Retroid pocket 5 is a good choice if you want to play older console games from multiple systems. You can play the likes of Sega dreamcast , Sagea Saturn, Sega Genesis, Nintendo 64, Super Nintendo. Gameboy advance, gameboy and of course playstation 1 and 2 titles. Also from what ive seen you can play some of these via a nintendo switch lite or the likes of capcom online subscription but not all of them. So personally i would rather recommend the RP5 jusgt be aware thoug hthat the RP 5 comes only with android pre-installed so you will have tpo do some setup to get rerto games working if you choose that option.

      Hi there. My videos are unfortunately not a hands on experience but rather a summary of sum of the top reviews out there mixed with research and my opinion. So unfortunately i don't own an Rp2s. The channel is a abit small to attract review units and i just don't have the cash to buy these at the moment. So the gameplay you see onscreen is just edited in to make it look more interesting. However i did some searching and i found the attached video showcasing over 100 PS2 games that are being played on the RP2+. This should at least give you an idea of what kind of gameplay the unit can handle. Here is the link if you are interested: ruclips.net/video/I9EzDRR90Vo/видео.html. Sorry i could not be of more help.

      Yeah it is pretty compact. The Odin 2 is also nice but it's a bit big. Att his stage i am leaning a bit more toward the RP5 in terms of value, but the good battery life on the odin 2 keeps me looking back toward it. A bit torn honestly lol

      @@TheTechUpdate-ui1fh I would go with the device that fits more comfortably for my hands and doesn't compromise portability inside a jacket. It's really difficult to decide between these two devices, they have their own strengths at key areas. RP5 looks a tad small and cramped for decent grip, Odin2 looks more ergonomic and adds to performance but it's bigger yet a lot smaller than a Steam Deck.

      #jrno93 Yeah but when it comes to high end Emulation like playing demanding Nintendo Switch games and Wii U games Odin 2 wins all day and in battery life over Retroid Pocket 5. Not to say that RP5 can't emulate Switch and Wii U it can but Odin 2 can run them at 2 - 4x resolution while RP5 can't!

    In theory 7x resolution sounds cool. But can the screen display 7x resoltiion and do you see the difference between 3x and 7x resolition on a handheld?

    • @TheTechUpdate-ui1fh
      @TheTechUpdate-ui1fh 28 дней назад

      You have a very valid point there. The screen just goes up to 1080P so you wont really notice the difference but what i was trying to ilustrate with that point is that the processor on the Odin 2 is much more powerfull than the older Snapdragon 865 on the Retroid Pocket 5. In real world terms there is not a massive difference though. The RP5 can basically run 98% of what the Odin 2 can and you will really only notice the difference with things like windows emulation probaly depending on what game you run. So the Odin 2's value lies more in it's exceptional battery life and the fact that you have a bit of future proofing for possible more demanding emulation or android games to come. I think the above mentioned is worth the extra $80 but if your a bit strapped for cash the RP5 seems like a good buy aswell. Thanks for atching and for sharing your thoughts,

    Great vid mate! I was about to buy odin 2 pro but the only thing that keeps me holding back is the input delay, like around 100-133ms and that's horrible when you're playing fighting games or guitar hero, so maybe I would go for RP5 instead and it has like 33ms+ input delay.

      The colours are much more vivid on the amoled and blacks are truly black. If im not mistaken it is also brighter than the LCD on the Odin but didn't look into that properly so i may be wrong. These devices can definitely do emulation but also all the high end android games you can throw at it. You can install a linux os on the RP 5 aswell and play Ports of PC games or install winlator directly on the Android side and play emulated pc games that way or you can stream your pc games from your pc through and app like moonlight.

    I'm going with RP4 Pro over RP5 because the performance difference between RP4 Pro (Dimensity 1100) and RP5 (SD 865) is very minimal. Other than SD getting more support for emulators. But RP4 is also getting support for its "Mali" drivers support meaning more Wii U games work on RP4 Pro now aswell as switch. So performance on RP4 Pro for Switch and Wii U is just 30fps not 60fps like on RP5 but that's not because RP4 Pro is weak it's because Snapdragon drivers gets more support. So if more 3rd party devs work on Mali drivers support then RP4 Pro can play Wii U and Switch games even heavy hitters like BOTW, Mario Odyssey above 30fps. So I'm getting RP4 Pro yeah sure the screen on RP5 looks way better and it's glass edged but glass panels crack if you drop it face first. But plastic screen on RP4 Pro and plastic screen phones have known to take beatings and dropped multiple times face first and very few cracks I do like the oled display on RP5. But the battery capacity on both handheld is around same as both have 5,000mah capacity. So battery life should be even. So battery life, is even Emulation performance of PS2, GameCube, Wii, DreamCast is even once again switch and Wii u emulators will get better with times and if Mali drivers gets supported as well as snapdragon then RP4 Pro can bridge the performance gap on Switch and Wii U. So in essence there's no point in buying Retroid Pocket 5 or Retroid Pocket 4 pro and it's cheaper also just my 10 cent!

I prefer the "Second but basically just as good and costs less option" lol. But i gotta say the RP5 looks brilliant and that Oled display makes games really pop. Would still opt for the RP4 though as price is a real factor for me but if i had the extra cash or was a first time buyer i would be really torn. Not sure I understand you 100% but It was never my intention to take viewers away from the other channels I get my info from or devalue what they do in any way. Wanted my video's to be a sort of suplementary resource. I have a lot of respect for the reviewers and I always leave links to their video's in my description. I have also referred viewers to their channles on some of my video's and in the comments when I know they have better and more complete info than I have. I honestly enjoy comparing these devices and I just want to be a part of the conversation even if that means doing overviews for the time being. I would love to do hands on reviews but I just can't afford these devices at the moment, working towards a place where I can do that but I am not there yet. Hope that clarifies my idea with the channel a bit more.
