Just now seeing this video. I have found that if you use the sponge that comes with the foundation or use your favorite sponge you should use it in a swirl motion in the foundation and not dab it. That is what is causing the caking in my opinion because you are not getting equal amounts of Olay and foundation. But I do have to say I am never able to finish the compact completely because it starts to get dry and then starts to cake once it gets low
I had the EXACT same problem opening this foundation too! I’ve been using it for about 2 months now and I really like it, but less is def more for me and this formula!
This is one of my favorite foundations. I get better coverage by applying with a brush. I also use the powder before foundation technique by Wayne Goss which extends the wear
I love this foundation. I’m turning 65 in a month. I did have a great facelift, but skin is skin and I’m dry and it looks flawless on me. We all have different experiences that don’t make sense
I just bought this and it is claimed to be med-full coverage by cover girl. I luv it surprisingly. I used too faced primer underneath. Very smooth. Didn’t crease much at all in my lines. VERY hard to open tho!
One of my favorite drugstore foundations, ( I actually think it's the only drugstore brand I currently own, and just bought a new one )...Everyone's skin and preferences are different thought and it's always interesting to see foundation reviews on both brands I love and brands I don't and the differences of opinions.
I suggest you, that you can try a setting spray after your foundation that can help everything look better on the skin, I bought that cream foundation 4 days ago, I had always wanted to buy it to try it on, on my skin it looks matte when I only use a primer to cover pores, but without drying out my skin, and when I use a illuminating primer the finish on my makeup skin is satin, I love that cream foundation now, and I think it's a good DUPE for the NEW just released Danessa Myricks the Yummy skin bluring balm !!!! but more affordable!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think you need primer. The Covergirl website has a tutorial and they also suggest using the matching primer. I just purchased this recently and was looking for some kind of help with picking out the color. What I bought (215) is a bit light as I live in the Deep South and though I’m fair, I generally have a little tan on my face. I usually have to buy 2 colors so I can get the right shade for me at any given time. I really like the foundation. It’s light weight and doesn’t gather in my lines and wrinkles. I’m probably a good bit older than you at 62 and my skin is “normal.” This is Best foundation I’ve tried so far. There are undoubtedly better more expensive foundations out there but I was not looking to spend $40-$100 or more for everyday foundation. I don’t like powder because it settles in lines and adds bulk and looks dry. It’s just different strokes for different folks but I feel like it’s really good foundation for the drug store variety and I’ve tried most of them but there’s always new ones coming out. They are getting better, I feel. Thanks for the demo! I’ll check your other one on the liquid version. 💖
LOL " they look like more like distant cousins than sisters" I nearly died of laughter ;-) Love your videos Bobbie, thank you for doing this 5-Day Cover Girl foundations - hope you will do more in the future. Found it to be informational, helpful and entertaining!
I like it but prefer L’Oréal Age Perfect as cream foundations go. Have loved L’Oréal Lumi for a good while. Tried primers but don’t like the extra caking. Instead I moisturize with Cera Vé underneath anything and everything blends great afterwards. I use a sponge and only teeny bit to even out face and skin, cover minimal unevenness and go for light, natural makeup.
I just found your channel, Bobbie, and I love you already! 😂 You're such a sweet, bubbly person and I appreciate your honest thoughts. I also tried this Cover Girl cream foundation and had the exact same poor results. 😢
Have you thought about a liquid setting spray instead of powder? I loved this series. I wish you would do a Limelife foundation review. It’s my favorite.
I have to get a sponge. My stearing wheel and car door are black with foundation on it. I thought I washed my hands(?) Resistant foundation any good. White shirts & black get on shirts. Back of hands i put some foundation on too. SPF. (Spots).
I've tried these type of foundations. To me they give pretty good coverage but look heavy on my 62 year old dry skin. Definitely settles in my forehead. I watched yesterday's video. Out of the 5 it looked the best. This was a good series👏 Thanks Bobbie.
You might prefer the CG Outlast CREAM foundation as it’s lighter than this one with the Olay. I’m 63 and although it’s a light to medium coverage it covers or blurs my hyperpigmentation beautifully. It’s not greasy so you probably won’t need to set it but I use a very small amount of powder because I have normal skin with a little shine in my T zone. Anyhow, I thought I’d recommend it as I enjoy it better than liquid foundation on my older skin.💖 Edit: CG has a new Simply Ageless Skin Blurring Serum that’s light but makes your skin feel very smooth but not tacky. It’s one of the only serums I use as I’m not typically a serum user so thought I’d mention it too.💕
I like this. I use a foundation brush to apply, didn’t work at all for me with fingers or a sponge….I don’t need anything with a lot of coverage. I apply it very lightly, so haven’t had any issues with it settling, breaking up, not wearing well. However, I do not have dry skin, and still think this foundation needs moisturizer underneath. Otherwise it looks too dry.
I literally just jumped on RUclips to find a video showing how to open the container! Then my smarty pants husband opened it and said well this is how I would do it, lol.
So I recently found your channel and subscribed based on youra "most like me" you tuber, based on age, (im 62) your skin eyes and hair then today you tested the worst make up ive ever tried. I recently ( after pandemic) grew my hair and I too work for the school district and am not a teacher. Turns out we're sisters from another mister. Glad I found you.
Thanks for the great points about the foundation setting in funny. That saves us from trying it. LOL! I'm a fitness instructor in the Tropics so thick foundations don't work well for me.
Thank you for the review. I tried this foundation a couple of weeks ago and I think it's terrible! I like Olay skin care but never been a fan of covergirl foundation. This broke up in ares, settled in others and was just oily and gone even with primer, setting spray and powder. Im going to toss it it was a total waste of money.
I think we are own worst critics. I thought your makeup looked fine from a normal distance. But I get it - I'm the same way. I get two inches from the mirror and examine the flaws, even through truly, I'm the only one who is seeing them.
Did you hear her say she has arthritis? I have arthritis also. Even some seemly simply task are difficult. It's ridiculous that some are so critical. 😢

I really like both the covergirl Olay foundations.
That's good! If it works for you that is all that matters.
What shade did you use
Another favorite 🤩 is the L’Oréal balm, the tinted balm !!!! I love it as well ♥️
Oh my goodness...I bought this yesterday and nearly lost my mind trying to open it!
The struggle is REAL!

Thank you. I tried it years ago and I wanted to love it but I didn’t 😀
I use that foundation i like the coverage .

I’m so glad you did this foundation!! I almost bought it!! How disappointing!!! Thank you for saving me some $$. Loved this series.
I'm glad I could help. Series #2 will happen sometime next month.
👍👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Bobbie, you are so real. I love that and I nearly died laughing too.
So far for me really great foundation nice coverage and light .
Oh thank u so much , I had it for a couple of weeks and couldn’t figure out how to open it , great tip, u made my day , thank you very much

I loved this series. I wish you would do a Limelife foundation review. It’s my favorite.
I'll bet she doesn't use setting spray because of rosacea. Alcohol is often very high on the ingredients lists for setting sprays.
I have to get a sponge. My stearing wheel and car door are black with foundation on it. I thought I washed my hands(?) Resistant foundation any good. White shirts & black get on shirts. Back of hands i put some foundation on too. SPF. (Spots).
That’s my biggest problem with cream foundations, they always slide around and slip off. It looks pretty on you though.
It looks great on you. I just went out and bought this. Had to get my hudband to open this. Super tight.
I enjoyed this new series. Looking forward to the next one.
I so enjoy your videos, Bobbie! This series was great!
This was a great series ! Thank you for doing this !
I love to use sponge for foundation and not the brush.
Yep, I like this type of video series as well.

How did you prepared your skin prior to foundation. I don't remember if you mentioned.
Maybe you can try to put a layer of Simply Ageless liquid foundation over its creamy foundation.
Have u ever used SHEIN makeup? Just wondering.
Loving this series.
Great series ! I’d love for young’s do L’Oréal foundations, they have new ones that look interesting.
At some point I want to review all of their foundations. It will happen this year I'm sure!
Did you apply moisturising cream and or primer before the application of the foundation?
Moisturizer Yes...Primer No!
What shade is she using?
What shade did you use?

Haha! Seriously...nobody should have to Google how to open a package! 😳
It’s a man’s world. Cannot open mine. Hurts my hands

Awww, thanks Karen! How fun that we have so much in common.

I don’t like lip glass which usually looks very sticky and tacky. I use matte lipstick color.
Hey Bobbie, can you link your big powder puff. I have little ones like this that I love but I'm having trouble finding bigger ones.
All my makeup seems like it belongs to some alien family on Mars lately.....Nothing works since I hit the 50 year milestone.
Distant cousins, you are so funny Bobbie! I've enjoyed this kind of videos. Very informative
I think we are own worst critics. I thought your makeup looked fine from a normal distance. But I get it - I'm the same way. I get two inches from the mirror and examine the flaws, even through truly, I'm the only one who is seeing them.
SAME! I once had a dermatologist that told me magnifying mirrors are our worst enemy. At this age, I can't put makeup on without it. LOL!
I have oilier skin and this did not work out well for me either.
Can not screw mine open at all so absolutely stupid to make it so difficult. IT’s A MANS WORLD
Can 40 year olds use this?
Absolutely! I think any age could use it, actually.
Still can’t open it! Ridiculous
Did you hear her say she has arthritis? I have arthritis also. Even some seemly simply task are difficult. It's ridiculous that some are so critical. 😢
Oh no it's not just you lol. I almost NEVER got it opened
My brows always look like cousins twice removed!!!
LOL! Isn't it strange how that happens. Glad I'm not the only one.
💝
I was fooled by the olay being included. No way. It was a cakey mess.
OMG, your eye color palette is too dramatic.
