I have the book. It's a terrific read about a great player. My all time favorite.

The Rock was a great player for the Detroit Tigers. He routinely threatened and held runners who "even thought about heading home" whenever he had the ball deep in Left. He'd put them out--and they knew it!
All of us kids imitated his shoulder/bat warm up routine. A great example of a family man (underline "man") for boys. He even jumped into the stands and took on a creep that was hounding and threatening his own father, who was seating in the stands, right in the middle of a game! The creep backed down--let me tell you! Cleveland is lucky to have THE big dibs on "The Rock!"

I have read Terry Pluto's book "The Curse of Rocky Colavito" several times. One of my favorite quotes in the book is from pitcher Jim "Mudcat" Grant: "You want to know why [Frank] Lane traded Rocky? That's easy. Lane was an idiot." (page 49)

Is colavito a hall of famer? I think he has the numbers to be a hall of famer
I think what may have hurt rocky for induction was that after the 66 season he faded badly the remainder of his career and he was only 32 33 years old . But he put up some tremendous seasons and he was very good defensively also
