We live in Canada{ Edmonton, Alberta } but in years past have travelled back to Britain at least twice a year to visit my husband's family. My darling husband has been in long term care now for 7 months and the decision to have to place him broke our hearts. Even with help I cannot look after him safely at home. I spend every single day with him till evening and then come home to a very empty house which continues to break my heart. I do have my soul cat though who is a huge bundle of love and comfort. So far I’ve bought a coloring book and started crocheting. I am also looking for clothes that make me feel good. I too love dresses and wear them as much as possible. I’ll have to check out Vinted. Lovely vlog today. Its never a bad day, it was a moment in the day that felt or was bad and once i learnt that it helped me realise i can lift myself up and move ahead. Cut yourself a bit of slack you are doing a fabulous job, young child, a husband and a new home, as for your weight you grew a human in your body and your body will find its happy weight when it is ready took me 26 years and i still have a bum bag mum tum 😅 x

Hi Kay, I think you are you no matter what the season of your life. I’m much older than you, I love wearing dresses, I wear make up every day and I do to please me. I too have learned to live life slower, which isn’t the same as doing everything slowly, rather, I am more in the moment and allow myself to just be. I watch the birds a lot more and really enjoy the seasons. I no longer have goals in my life, rather, I have intentions. Be kind to yourself, you are a lovely Mum, wife, and homemaker. Take care xx
Good morning Kay! Hate to do this, again...bc I warned you about refrigerating your onions but I noticed you also have fresh potatoes in there. Im not trying to be critical, just offering some friendly health advice which Im sure you can appreciate. Im going to keep my answer short and you can research it for yourself but... When refrigerated potatoes are cooked at high temps whether baking, frying, or roasting, they can create a potentially dangerous chemical. High temperatures cause the glucose and fructose developed in cold potatoes to combine with an amino acid (asparagine) to produce the chemical acrylamide. Research suggests acrylamide may cause cancer: specifically kidney, endometrial, and ovarian cancer. The EPA says the chemical is “likely to be carcinogenic to humans.” If you choose to continue refrigerating them, soaking them in water for 30 minutes before using apparent reduces the risk. Hope this helps. 🙏🏽

Dear Kay please don’t be hard on yourself, you are a wonderful Mother, Wife and Daughter. Everything doesn’t have to be perfect, your house is beautiful, take time for yourself and if you need to sit down for 30 minutes in between doing things - sit down and recharge, you will feel better for it ❤, but most of all enjoy your little one, they grow up so fast, my ‘little boy’ is 36 this year with a little girl of his own and I sit and wonder where the years went. Hi Kay, I just wanted to say you are so like me. Don't be hard on yourself (I don't take my own advice) you're beautiful and an amazing mum. I do cross stitch every evening and I started doing it when I was pregnant with my youngest son. Its so therapeutic, it help me relax and fall asleep at a reasonable time. I have also started dressing how I want to rather than trying to be fashionable. Just be easy on yourself and do things that you love to do and your son will grow up to be happy too.
I feel you when it comes to clothing. I struggle to find anything I like and I feel like nothing suits me, and I can't seem to find my style either. I think you have the right idea, wear more of what makes you feel happy. I would recommend a soup maker if you like soups, chop your ingredients then bung in the soup maker for 21 minutes and you have yourself a nice healthy hearty winter warmer that's quick and easy 🙂

I had a quick convenient health lunch of, carrots, grapes, nuts, cheese, with eggs and tomatoes, with a sugar free rocky road, chocolate, marshmallow, dried raspberries and sugar free biscuits, so a welcome change after all those hot cooked dinners 💞💕

I feel like I just can’t possibly make one more decision. Meal plans and prepping meals during the weekend are my lifesaver!
Just wanted to say you can blame baby brain as the brain is forever changed from growing a little one and there are scans to prove this. It’s just the degree to which it impacts on you varies. Love this video. At the end of 2024 I was feeling pretty crappy. Always tired, never really very motivated and just struggling in general (we had a really rough winter over in the southern hemisphere as well with constant kid sickness) so I decided that this year I was going to be intentional with getting up everyday, getting myself ready, eating enough protein and going on walks. Nothing major but just those little things to reset makes a big difference

I love your outfit. The dress is so pretty and looks lovely with that jumper. I struggle finding clothes that i like too. Materials used arent so good and hard to find the style i like. You look beautiful at whatever weight but it is hard when u feel not so good in your body. You always approach life with the best attitude xx ❤
I love meal planning and meal prepping as tools. I struggle with decision fatigue and lack of energy in the evenings. I can decide on a Friday night what I'm eating all week and then prep it on a Sunday night, and it makes me so happy. I'm set for the week. I make it extra easy by eating the same breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the work week. Planned spontaneity on the weekends.

I was the same with breakfasts and lunches! I now have a protein smoothie with fruit and a marmite crumpet for breakfast every morning 😆 I never get tired of it and love the combination of sweet and salty! Sometimes you just have to find what works for your body and stick with it! I even heard this from a PT, keep it simple to stay consistent 🥰
Try thinking of a THEME for meals every day of the week… Mexican on tuesdays, Italian on fridays, comfort food on Sundays (or traditional), seafood on Wednesday, no meal Mondays. Breakfast for dinner…whatever you can think of ! Really helps that you (and hubby or kids) know a Mexican meal is coming tonight, so don’t have a taco for lunch etc.
I know not everyone agrees with SlimmingWorld,but l just find the support you get from groups and the Facebook page really helps,l am 1 half lb away from my 2st award.The meals are family friendly.😊

It is all about clean eating and getting our metabolism working properly hence some weight loss, better health etc. So far, a few weeks in, I have lost a few kg. Is your exhaustion not your cfs maybe? Maybe ur coming down with things because of that and everything from the move has triggered a flare in cfs ? It’s a possibility
I agree. We need to not be hard on ourselves. And not compare ourselves to who we were. We change as we age. That's OK. And our bodies change. You have had a baby. Your body is different now. I have lost an inch and a half in height. Things don't fit like they used to. That is ok. Moving and a balanced diet are the best thing for us. But relaxation is needed also. Again, it is about balance. I only wear dresses and skirts now. Partly for religious reasons. But also because I am just more comfortable in them. I was never comfortable in pants. Leggings and tights are for layering. Be you and do what you feel best in. Have a wonderful week. ❤

Always tired, never really very motivated and just struggling in general (we had a really rough winter over in the southern hemisphere as well with constant kid sickness) so I decided that this year I was going to be intentional with getting up everyday, getting myself ready, eating enough protein and going on walks. Nothing major but just those little things to reset makes a big difference

I love your outfit. The dress is so pretty and looks lovely with that jumper. I struggle finding clothes that i like too. Materials used arent so good and hard to find the style i like. You look beautiful at whatever weight but it is hard when u feel not so good in your body. You always approach life with the best attitude xx ❤
I love meal planning and meal prepping as tools. I struggle with decision fatigue and lack of energy in the evenings. I can decide on a Friday night what I'm eating all week and then prep it on a Sunday night, and it makes me so happy. I'm set for the week. I make it extra easy by eating the same breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the work week. Planned spontaneity on the weekends.

I was the same with breakfasts and lunches! I now have a protein smoothie with fruit and a marmite crumpet for breakfast every morning 😆 I never get tired of it and love the combination of sweet and salty! Sometimes you just have to find what works for your body and stick with it! I even heard this from a PT, keep it simple to stay consistent 🥰
Try thinking of a THEME for meals every day of the week… Mexican on tuesdays, Italian on fridays, comfort food on Sundays (or traditional), seafood on Wednesday, no meal Mondays. Breakfast for dinner…whatever you can think of ! Really helps that you (and hubby or kids) know a Mexican meal is coming tonight, so don’t have a taco for lunch etc.

Hi Kay, I hear ya on the weight issue. I started the Gina Livy program. It is all about clean eating and getting our metabolism working properly hence some weight loss, better health etc. So far, a few weeks in, I have lost a few kg. Not to alarm you but have you had your thyroid checked? I had the same symptoms, being tired and other things, after having my son twelve years ago. Turns out it was my thyroid. All good now. 😊

Is your exhaustion not your cfs maybe? Maybe ur coming down with things because of that and everything from the move has triggered a flare in cfs ? It’s a possibility
I agree. We need to not be hard on ourselves. And not compare ourselves to who we were. We change as we age. That's OK. And our bodies change. You have had a baby. Your body is different now. I have lost an inch and a half in height. Things don't fit like they used to. That is ok. Moving and a balanced diet are the best thing for us. But relaxation is needed also. Again, it is about balance. I only wear dresses and skirts now. Partly for religious reasons. But also because I am just more comfortable in them. I was never comfortable in pants. Leggings and tights are for layering. Be you and do what you feel best in. Have a wonderful week. ❤
