Have a great week guys! Cheers.
Special thanks to Tiege Hanley for their patience with this video. I was hoping this goal would be wrapped in 60 days and they waited through the journey with me: tiege.com/goalrings
Try to learn The front lever Pls!
Sweet! That was so satisfying to see you accomplish.
Thanks! It was satisfying to get there!
That feeling at 10:56 is what maintains exercise habits. The feeling of triumph after achieving your goal.
Facts!
First off: Awesome that you made it!
One comment I wanna make is that when you used the bands, you still used a lot of hip drive and momentum to get through the transition. You can see this with your muscle ups in the end as well: You go through the transition explosively by trying to pull as fast as possible and using the hip, but you never controlled the middle part (This is why you struggled with the third rep, you got stuck in transition but didn't have the strength to go through). When you train with the band it really helps to go through the transition as slowly as possibly. You might need to use a way stronger band than you thought you needed at first (at least I did). By doing many controlled reps of just the transition with a decently strong band you build up the strength to control the movement. In the long term that makes the muscle ups much safer on your joints and progress becomes smoother. And the amount of reps you can do becomes less of a guessing game.
Yo, this channel is spitting fire! Shots look crispy fresh!
Appreciate it!
@@GoalGuys please do one on necules overload
Yo idk why this channel isn’t getting the love it deserves!! You guys are dropping fire content, keep up the good work.
Thanks Rosendo! That’s great to hear!
first lol loving the videos man, keep up the work!
It’s so sad how you feel the need to comment this like how down bad are you that you need to comment “first”
@@joshuamatthews7104 Bro, just be nice to people.
@@joshuamatthews7104 i saw the video 34 sec after it dropped and i saw nobody commented and ive never been first, but i didnt know what to write lol. Yes it is annoying, just wanted to try
Thanks! Will try our best!
Congratulations!! Could you guys do a road to dunk type video (if you cant dunk that is) or a video where you would be improving your 3P%/FT%, that would be very interesting.
Yo you finally did it been talking about this forever nice job
I found a great book for learning calisthenics, Overcoming Gravity by Steven Low.
This book gives all of the regressions and progressions to achieve almost everything in calisthenics.
Every skill has its prerequisites. If you can't hit those prerequisites yet, select a regression of that skill and start there.
Some skills need to be mastered before you can attempt other skills. The book has a map that shows you where to begin and in what order the skills are arranged.
It has saved me a ton of time, frustration, and injury. I hope it helps you too.
Strength and Honor ! 💪
Nice job, I think you’d enjoy the Turkish getup for another challenge, try to get a half body weight rep
Do you haven any links I could check out?
@@GoalGuys I learning from mark wildman, he has a large collection of kettlebell instruction videos including the Turkish get up. I’m working towards half body weight tgu. You can see my beginner attempt on my channel
Just here for my daily view, baffled how this doesn't have more views
What´s more manly than Tiege Hanley?☜(゚ヮ゚☜)
Do you publish your training logs? Exercises/sets/reps?
Really admire your dedication.
Great vid as always. Not sure why the algorithm isn't showing me your videos consistently. I'm sure the lower views are frustrating for you guys, but your content is still top notch.
Loving these frequent uploads! And I'm sure the RUclips algorithm loves it too :)
Thanks! We try to make the algorithm happy.
@@GoalGuys ALL HAIL THE ALGORITHM!
That was a sick beat drop when you did the first muscle up
81 days???? But you could do much harder pulling exercises. It’s just a technique.
A year ago, he could do bar muscle up which is harder.
Great work! I am trying to achieve it since a few weeks with almost no results. Your video inspired me to keep going. I wish you the best!
I really liked this video because I find it very realistic and at the same time truly motivating !! Thanks for sharing!!🙏 I'm also training to get my first ring muscle up. You've helped me a lot, I'm 70 years old. Have a nice weekend!! Keep in touch.💪💪
Congratulations, I’m proud of you! I’m working on the same and a bit behind you. I see you cut in a clip of fitnessfaqs. I think his channel is fantastic too! Anyway, hope I join you in the 3 ring muscle up club in a few weeks.
That's awesome. I'm sure you'll be in the club soon enough!
This is really high quality information.
Iron Cross next!
Great video!! Where can I buy those rings?
We have a deal with Rubber Banditz: www.rubberbanditz.com/

would love to see cam trying these 30 days - 60 days fitness challenges
Yessir.
It tool me a month. Pull-ups and deep
I’ve been following you guys for awhile and I just want to say I really appreciate and love the step up in terms of production and cinematography recently!
Thanks so much! We’re tying to improve as we go!
congratulations! You had a very good base with the false grip from the start. i think you could have made faster progress if you just focused on body weight and weighted pull ups and deep range of motion dips on the rings. You were doing excercises that were not specific enough for your goal like the russian push ups, horisontal rows and horisontal pattern explosive pull ups. Regardless, good job and im looking forward to more of your videos!
Hahahaha brooooooo HE DID IT! 😃😃😃 I’m feeling good just seeing it
Your dedication is inspiring! I've had rings for a while now but they're just so much more intimidating than weight lifting! The learning curve seems so much more steep. But I think now with the adjustments, modifications, and extra exercises you incorporate I can give smooth that learning curve out a bit more. That fine line/moment between the pull-up and dip seems to always get me. Haha!! Can't wait to have met that goal the way you totally smashed it out in 3 under months!
Just uploaded a video of me doing 3 rings muscle-ups, I was inspired by your first rings video 5 months ago and reached my goal!! Thanks for the motivation!!
That’s awesome! Congrats!
Honestly this video is amazing to see the real journey and difficulty of a ring muscle up, sick of "trainer video" that just show "do theae 3 exercises" with no indication of the pain and the time required to master. This was perfect, ❤ the share.
3 weeks was very fast. Excellent!
Please address your form. According to gymnastic coaches, proper form is emphasized and is second to all ring work.
Phenomenal work, Brendan!!! Proud of you, brother! I really enjoyed watching your journey, and I fist pumped when I watched the end and your pure joy and excitement when you hit your goal! 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
great video. I"m also training for my ring muscle up and documenting it on my channel. At the moment I"m working on upper back strength and shoulder extension in order to perform the dip properly without any aching. Looking foward to perform those muscle ups as easy as you are doing them in this video.
Honestly, I see this "The Most Honest" progress instead of some fancy video by an expert. My first muscle up is still a dream for me even though I can bang pretty solid weighted pull-ups and chin ups.
I live in Vancouver... would love to do some calisthenics with ya... Im really good at the bar and just bought a set of rings..... Definitely rainy af but better then snow in TOronto lol
Great job! So happy to see a normal human being showing his honest progress. Calisthenics is hard so it's great to see someone document what it takes to progress at a natural speed.
Vancouver?!?!? Didn’t realize you guys are so close! I live on Vancouver Island 🏝
This was delightful! I jumped up and cheered when you made that last one on your third attempt!
Chimp strength achievement unlocked!
Seriously impressive, stay at it, had no idea how technical this exercise is
A lot of form and strength work I found
I'll be right back. I have to try that band assisted muscle up thing.
Thanks.
Please share links of reference materials which you read while correcting your techniques.
This will help us all. Thanks.

Good job boi
looking for the inevitable comment that you should lock out the rings at the end...
Congrat, i did my very first ring MU today, the feeling is awesome, like 11:10
I love you bro 😍 I want you to do the backflip for me 😅😢😂😙
I would have started with a dip exercise to develop upper body strength bud.
Keep going
You should do a planche progression video
Haha, very nice! Congrats! The ring muscle-up is definitely tricky but it looks like you were able to understand it and get the strength needed as well!
You should try learning a Handstand or Back Lever, I bet you could do it in a reasonable amount of time. But let me know if you need help! 😉👍
Music too loud. So, distracting.
Nice content tho
Took me a few weeks of using bands before I was strong enough
hey man , I drive by this park everyday, on my way to work into the port
Great sharing experience! 💪🏼👍🏼
Muscle up is so easy L sit is impossible. Total opposite for me
this channel is what happens when you lose your hairline
30 day front splits challenge?
So glad you finally changed your glasses man
I am attempting to do my first ring Muscle up . I have already attemped mto first bar Muscle up. Congratulations.
Work on the impossible ring muscle up lol
Good luck with the strict MU! 😅
You should try handstand or Handstand push ups! If you want I am willing to teach you!
I think technique is which the most you struggled with. First, I saw that maybe the rings were too wide apart. I used my armpits for measure the width. Second, the trick is bringing the rings to the center of your chest and then pull the rings apart while you lean forwards. The movement should be like whend Superman breaks his shirt.
I think the next logical progression after ring pull ups would be an Iron Cross. Pull up into a muscle up, then lower yourself, extending your arms to the side, until both arms are parallel to the ground, without your feet touching the ground. Good job on this achievement and good luck with your next.
Well done! You have done very well. I have been trying to do ring muscle ups for a few months now and I am still stuck at the transition. Thanks for sharing your journey. I think what I need to focus on is the explosiveness of the muscle up. I am able to do them with the bands but still need some work before I would be able to do a muscle up without them. Thanks again.
after trying all those crazy workout regimes he's probably at a Super Saiyan level and just pretending it to be difficult when he can do like 50 of them
your winter park workouts always look so cold and bleak. that's always the one thing that stops me continuing routines which require outdoor fitness. winter ruins it.
Brother, you look so much better with the shaved head. Welcome to the club. (We have a secret handshake and everything!)
you facking did itttttttttt gj bro
Nice! Bravo 👏🏾 maintain it, perfectionist it lock out and legs straight. And share it with use. Love the channel
Would definitely recommend muscle-up ring rows to anyone trying this. It’s a fantastic way (maybe the best) to build strength and control through the transition
Thank you for all the great advices and the inspiration !
I am not there yet, but I face the same challenges as you did : the damn transition ! I lack strengh to pull me up high. I can relate to that.
Awesomely inspiring video! What brand/length of assist bands are those?
They are from Rubberbanditz. I believe we have a link in the video description.
Good job!!!👏🏿👏🏿. Gonna make it my mission to nail this bad boy too 👊🏾
FINALLY!!!! 😁
Watched the video a couple times really motivating and amazing production quality!!
Great job man very inspiring! The only thing I would suggest is, at the end of your muscle-up position turn your thumbs out so facing away from you. This will help with the other moments that you want to learn 😀
way to progress . . . it looks like the research, effort, and consistency really did it for you
Back lever next!!
I can do ring muscle ups but I struggle with the bar muscle ups.
It seemed like you were hanging too long in the eccentric portion. Glad you were able to get it .
Awesome job! People who haven't tried this have no idea how hard it is.
Love your work mate. Lots of inspiration and knowledge to be gained from watching and seeing your overall health journey across multiple videos is awesome.
Ur videos r so good and have such high quality content, love seeing ur fitness and bettering yourselves videos!
Good job. A one arm pull-up should be next on your list.
Man that was awesome and so inspirational!
I gotta get back on this!
Hey mate, what pull-up bar do you have in your backyard? I'd love to purchase one like that.
Excellent stuff on getting 3 in a row. I hope you continue with your rings training! It's so good.
The bar is from a company called “CAP strength” I got it from Canadian Tire!
Great video. I learned the ring muscle up in my first try. A great tip for starters is to develop that false grip hold.
Good job. Congrats!
Try to learn a handstand next. It's really challenging
next humanflag ;)
Awesome dude!
That's was seriously impressive. Fabulous effort.
Oh cool, in the 604!
You hold one leg higher. Do a video on fixing imbalance.
Impressive! I love the research you do in the things you want to acomplish.
Ah, so that is what it would feel like. OK, no need to do it myself.
It'd be cool to see you swap out for a different cardio challenge soon. Instead of like a running challenge, it'll be a cycling one, training for a 'Century' (100 mile cycling event) or a half or quarter century, or training for mountain bike racing. This is something I can totally see you and Kam doing together.
Cool idea. It's a struggle to film a goal like cycling because you need a mobile team to shoot, but that would be a cool idea!
Another one to work on for the future is a one arm pull-up
