I have a laptop with a 4050, 13th Gen i7, and 16GB RAM (though I also have 64GB of VRAM allocated) And Star Citizen works very well for me as well (or at least as much as the computer can be responsible for)

I was tired of buying a new PC every year or two, so I decided to spend real money on a nice rig. I wanted a 'future-proof' rig that would give me at LEAST 6 years of usefulness. Spent about $2500 on components (i7-4790k...Corsair liquid CPU cooler, ASUS X79-Deluxe MB...64GB DDR4...1TB SSD...EVGA GTX780...and Corsair 850w PS) and popped them in a nice ATX case I already had. So, here we are in 2025, nearing that build's 12th birthday, and that rig is still running GREAT!! And still does almost everything I ask of it. If I would have upgraded every 2 years, spending a minimum of $500 per replacement, I would be on my 6th replacement and would have spent well over my initial $2500. But, alas...we're upon the 14th gen of i7 processors now. Windows 11 requires the TPM chip...M.2 SSDs rule the world...And, let's face it, a GTX780 GPU isn't much these days. So, maybe it's time to build a new 10+ year PC! But, then again...I purchased an ASUS F17 laptop for travel and am pretty happy with it's performance!!
