    Hi Bob!
    The oil In the ECU comes from the oil contact sensor which is causing the oil warning lamp to extinguish after engine start if the oil pressure is O.K. Most modern cars have processed the information from that sensor in the ECU and then it is transferred to the dash panel. Because the the plug from the harness for that sensor is sealed connector type, when there is a leak in this sensor the oil pressure (when the engine is cold or in high revs. with warm engine it can reach 5 bars or higher) gets in the sealed connector of the ECU between the wire and it's insulation (capillary effect) and then it's possible to enter the ECU itself between the pins and molding of ECU connector. I have seen such problems even with the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor. If signs for oil or coolant in the connectors of the ECU the above sensors should always be replaced.

I am not repairing things in the last two years. Every time I try to rework, I have to star re-training my hands, because I am old and I lose that fine movements after a while too. :-P Happy new year and thanks for writing! :-)

    Hi,
    A question before I start to dismantle my ecu. Is there any difference in type after 5WK9 number? Mine is is 5WK9 1720. Can I replace that one with any 5WK9 or this 1720 number really matters.
    Thanks a lot in advance for your opinion.

    I hope you're still reading these. A friend of mine had his Zafira jacked. They stole the ECU and the thieves didn't simply disconnected it, they cut the wires. He managed to purchase a new ECU, but they didn't have wires/connectors. We're trying to find that part but we're stumped. Can you guide me where can I find that part or at least the part number so I can try and find a replacement? I'm talking about the cables/connectors that connect to the outside of the ECU from the car. Thank you in advance.

      Hi! You have to find a used auto-part shop. Maybe you can order the arneses. Better option is to visit the junker or car bone yard and get the wires himself. (He will need connectors, the extra piece or wire, and some of them are connected to sensors, so to join the wires can create serial resistance with the sensors signal. It is better to replace the whole wiring).

    I change him and variable pulley also same storey.
    When it's cold car, it's going less than before when I haven't that problem.
    But when car passed few KM and start to be hot the can change some MODE, GAS star to loose power so much that I can't In first gear start on some Hill.and in the same time on gasoline, start to be Lazy.

    Can that be computer?

    • @bob.kalpon1398
      @bob.kalpon1398  5 лет назад +1

      Hi! If something went wrong, "only that part" will fail. But when there is an ECU with bad wires array connection like in the video, "many things" no related with each other will fail at the same time. Most of the time bad wires ECU will fail after warming up, some minutes of driving, bad road or in some speeds because the car's vibrations.

    • @bob.kalpon1398
      @bob.kalpon1398  6 лет назад +1

      Hi! I don't do programmings. I just worked in general electronics repairing. But many car models, will not start if the ECU had been changed. Programming is needed to associate the key.

    Great video Bob. I have a Vauxhall Zafira 59 plate (2009) which keeps illuminating the EML (Engine Management Light) on the dashboard causing the vehicle to shudder and restrict speed. The fault had been diagnosed as Fuel Injector 1. I then had Fuel Injector 1 replaced with a brand new one and the car was fine for just over 2 weeks until the EML illuminated amber again, the fault has been diagnosed again as Fuel Injector 1, is this likely to be the ECU?

    • @bob.kalpon1398
      @bob.kalpon1398  6 лет назад +2

      Hi! Yes, it could be the ECU. (But check wires first to ensure good connection and clean contacts). A defected injector can damage the output transistor. Or a defective output transistor can be accused as defected injector. Bad power supply connections can be reflected and error en the components that more current use in the system too. Also a broke wire problem like in the video could be possible.

      @@trabali5168 Mmmm..! Your electrician was in the main fuse, where the horn is, and also he touched the steering wheel. High chances are you have a lose contact in the main fuses or under the steering wheel key connector, and it justifies the power insulation.

    I have two questions:
    1.How can I ask from the shop the glue around the ECU for sealing it after I will finish with it?
    2.Which is the name of the transparent glue/material(silicon gel) with which is covered whole the surface of the circuit in case I want to replace it after I will finish?

    Hi. I have a Zafira 54 plate which has had errors 1571 (brake sensor), 1482 and 1483 (fan relay) for last 2 years. It then suddenly developed codes 1122, 1120 and 1550 and went into limp mode with no more than 1200 revs. Had new accelerator and pedal switch fitted and all codes cleared. Drove ok for 2 days but sometimes felt slightly hesitant when accelerating. Then spanner light came back with codes 1571, 1482, 1483, 1122 and 1550 (1120 no longer present) and then intermittently went back to limp mode (usually just after starting car when slightly warm) however, a simple lock and unlock of car temporarily resolved this. I have a feeling it could be the ECU. Does this sound about right? Sorry for lengthy explanation, just wanted to be clear with the fault.

    • @bob.kalpon1398
      @bob.kalpon1398  7 лет назад

      Yes. One specific code is one specific problem. But a lot of codes, and some times no code is related one with the other when something went goes wrong, means bad connections in the ECU. Your problem's description match the problem fixed in the ECU from the video.

      Dear friend, I will kill you with my ignorance. I am electronics engineer. A mechanic or autotronics technician in Opel has the right answer for you. Yes, there is a difference. It is not only for the year, but for the extras in the system. Most of the time, the newest model can control the oldest one. Also, some extras are ignored if they are missing. I am "new in Europe", and am trying to learn it too. I saw Opel Corsa looks the same from 2007 to 2010. But I have not formal information to tell you. Maybe in Opel Clubs online, used part's shop, or an Ebay ECU supplier has the answer. And as I said, an opel mechanic is the best source for your answer.

    Opel, vauxhall/gm cars' ecu problems are common issues because of corrosion due to water damage. Bad design that these ecu are located where water is always present or draining. Also, no added plastic protection cover against the elements. Car has plenty of room inside the cabin that these delicate electronic parts should have been located. I own a vauxhall car now but will not buy any of these again.

    • @bob.kalpon1398
      @bob.kalpon1398  5 лет назад

      Yes, just using common sense, inertia forces applies less in the chamber than in the extreme . Adding to it the lacking of plastics or rubbers, we ended applying movement to those wires inside the ECU. We only need one collision in the car´s history and we can add a ECU wires failure to the list of damages. It is good car, but if we buy Opel, we must think about to change tires, filters, oil and ECU too! ...why not? :-))
