It leave the C's shooters open on the perimeter and the Mavs are lucky that Boston hasn't shot very well so far. If they shoot like they normally do the games will be a blowout for Boston.

Doncic was amazing, it's great that he's trying to own up to his TOs, but let's face it, if it weren't for him, this would have been a blowout. He's the main reason this is a series and not a done deal.
Those turnover was important that got brown in translation and then they started to make open 3 in transition like Luka turnover killed there momentum in the 3 I feel you it wasn’t just him

Take away the turnovers and make FTS and that is the point spread right there….so for as offensively amazing Doncic was at times…you have to protect the ball and not give up easy

His TO’s didn’t cost them. It’s his defense. The celtics were all blowing past him all night long. Tatum and Brown are just walking by on simple crossovers. They either dunk it or help comes and they kick it to an open man. Luka is causing that.

Luka is exhausted carrying this team. Usually he has Kyrie helping him but he’s done nothing but choke. Really hoped he would show up and shut the Celtic fans but he’s just given them more fuel. @@deecool47 2 turnovers that were completely on Luka, just lazily bringing it up and got picked from behind, 1 bad behind the back pass that was mostly on Luka but Kleber was out of position so it would've been stolen anyway, at least 3 I remember that were dropped passes that ended up out of bounds or bounced to the C's, moreso on the receiver than Luka, and the other 2 were unremarkable, don't remember what happened. So, at most, 5 turnovers that were Luka's fault, probably more like 3-4, but even 5 is understandable. for one of the highest usage players of all time when he also gives you 30+, 10+ assists, and multiple crazy passes out of doubles and triples that no one else on the team is capable of. But yes, 8 turnovers is also not a good way to win basketball games.

Turnover and FT are a problem, biggest problem is his defense. Mavs are playing 4 v 5 on defense. That’s why the Celtics get so many open shots. Also his slow pace on offense is allowing Celtics to set up their defense. They have a very predictable offense, not much movement and very slow.

Mavs got off to a good start with not excessive drives under the hoop. Then, Kyrie's style of playing is penetration on the hoop , as soon as that started they were glued and that was it. More confidence in long range shooting and tighter coverage on defense would be the way to beat Celtics.

You gotta make the C’s pay in transition when they fail to execute on offense. Easy buckets will also get the role players going. There will be plenty of time to slow the game down to that playoff grind-it-out tempo at the end of the game.

8 turnovers 8x2=16..that’s a potential 16 points missed on those turnovers not to even mentioned miss free throws. Other Mavs teammates had turnovers also but it’s the way luka was reckless trying to make behind the back passes while in motion or putting his head down out of control to the basketball gets double then randomly throws the ball behind his head.
Or he drives into a double team pivot trying to shoot a fade away off his back leg but the help defender is close on his shooting hand because he doesn’t jump high. He then panicks worrying his shot will get block then last minute passes the ball which gets stolen for a fast break as his teammates are expecting he is shooting the ball
