Test Review Husqvarna Norden 901 Part 2
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 13 сен 2024
- A thorough test review of the Husqvarna Norden 901 with standard suspension and WP Pro 270 mm suspension. This is the second in a two part series that takes this bike to its design limits.
We find that it ticks all the boxes for the Adventure Tourer class and well exceeds them, courtesy of the legacy of it's KTM890 Adventure R heritage. We discover that while it may have the running gear and engine of the KTM, the bike rides and feels very different.
Slight changes in steering and frame geometry make this bike a great performer on the twisty black top. The classic adventure styling protects the rider from the elements.
In the first episode we rode some serious dirt and take the bike to places many adventure riders wouldn't go near with a mid sized twin.
In this second episode we take a thorough and systematic look at the features and benefits of this bike, what it needs to be set up for Australian adventure and its competitors.
We also ride the WP Adventure Pro XPLOR PRO 7548 forks and XPLOR PRO 7746 rear shock valued at $9000 AU. This suspension takes the Norden to another level.

Yes! Love waking up on Sunday and seeing a new MAD TV video. Great job and thanks for the shout out. Love your work as well.
Thanks Big Rock. How's your Norden going now?
@@MotorcycleAdventureDirtbikeTV sold it and replaced with something with the WP Pro suspension... hmmmm, what could that be.... :) (it's very orange)
@@BigRockMoto Wow.
Brilliant review Dave! Thanks for taking the time to answer viewer questions. Quite the challenge you took on assessing the two suspension setups in addition to all the features and performance of a standard bike. You did a fine job organizing and the presentation of your findings. Have owned the norden for a few months and after several thousand miles can say it is one of the best/versatile bikes I have ever owned. Not perfect but close and simply an amazing bike. I have it paired with a 2017 husky fe450. Fe450 does double duty from an offroader to a DS travel bike by swapping in a larger tank for 200+ mile range, comfy seat, DS wheel set, giant loop coyote and tank bags. Takes about 30 minutes and compliments the norden perfectly. Sometimes hard to pick which one to ride for moderately challenging DS rides. Keep up the good work!
I feel it's a great bike. I love the styling and handling.

I enjoyed your great depth review of the 890 Adv R a lot and got one in addition to my fully rallye converted 701. This review is AGAIN really excellent, Dave, bloody well done. You are obviously arguing from an offroad perspective and have a great talent to work out all the little details in an easy to understand manner - I am really impressed!!! Your way of presenting is highly professional and you choose your line very well... Your reviews are the best on YT. Thank you!!!
Glad it was helpful! It put a lot of effort into this one.
It’s so awesome to see the high-end suspension in action. You can almost feel how good it is through the screen!
It's bloody great.
Norden owner of 2 weeks here...I agree with every word of your review!
Please let Nugget know he's sorely missed...
Thank you. It's great to hear it matches with owners perceptions. Nugget will be back soon.
Another great review Dave. I’ve had my Norden for a few weeks now, been on a long ride into the Victorian high country with luggage, nothing too challenging mainly back roads and powerline trails. I certainly liked playing around with the slip control and felt so much more confident on sloppy clay roads and downhill descents. The front brakes are super good too. I haven’t even played with suspension set up yet just running it in on stock settings to get a feel for it. I see so many people complaining and straight away changing suspension and swapping out parts with little riding. I was impressed on corrugated roads where my KTM640 would normally be sketchy and this thing soaked up the imperfections pretty good except the big divots, but as mentioned I haven’t even dialled in the suspension yet. My luggage fit perfectly without racks and sat nice and central, so this helped keep weight distribution even. For me this bike feels light, nimble and tractable in the dirt. On the road it’s super quick and rides like a road bike on the twisties. Loving it!
It's a great bike. One of the best.
Dave, thank you for taking the time to read and answer the questions. I really appreciate your positive attitude. Cheers from Utah USA!
Thanks Paul
Great video! Thank you so much for answering my questions. The perspective and insight across multiple bikes with loads of experience really made these video series very informative for me in my purchasing decisions.
Glad it was helpful!
Superb review Dave. Especially good that you explain new refinements like the traction control (I'm from the analogue generation) - Setting 9 in that mud was most impressive! Your off-road riding skill is way above that of many of us viewers, plus the fact that you always ride with whatever the standard tyres are, something many of us often wouldn't manage. Stay safe and keep up the good work🕊
Glad it was helpful! I hope I made it clear, the traction control on the Norden and Ktm are superior to anything out there. Except when the Ducati Desert X cmes along, it will have roughly the same standard.
@@MotorcycleAdventureDirtbikeTV Thanks, I understand that, but my next bike must be light and easy to pick up, so probably a Husky 701. The Honda CRF 300 series is like Jesus, nobody’s seen one and they are not taking orders…… Cheers, Ernie
Hi Dave, just want to say thanks for all your hard work with the reviews. I just took delivery of my new 2022 KTM 1290 SAR with the Rally pack/quick shifter - next level on the dirt! I absolutely love it. The review you did with Clubby just helped me confirm what I already thought (Im a 6 foot 5 guy and have had an 1190R since 2016). You guys have an excellent style going on and your videos make my day. Love to cross paths one day for a chat. Keep up the excellent content. Nik
Great to hear!
We continue to love your style of output, may you continue to please us around the world.Cheers.
Thanks Bruce.
I'm getting a 2022 901 expedition love every thing about it
Great in-depth review. Thanks for taking the time to answer my question. I dont think I'll be getting rid of my 890 Adventure R anytime soon, but I have to admit the Norden is a damn good looking bike. If money was not object, the 901 with the XPLOR PRO suspension would be at the top of my list.
Me too!
Great review. I learnt so much.
Glad it was helpful!
It's always a pleasure to watch your extreme professional videos and to hear your profund opinions.
Greetings from the direct other side of the earth, Austria, Christian
P.s.: I whish I had the money for the Norden!
Hi Christian, glad you like them. Lots more coming in the next cople of months.
Thanks Dave. Wishing Nugget speedy recovery.
Thank you kindly
Fantastic, honest review.
I got the 890 R and it doesn't look as pretty. But it rides excellent offroad (and on tarmac, of course).
My riding buddy just got his Norden and he picked it for the look of the Norden.
The unfair part is that he will see my KTM much often when riding with me. And I will enjoy the looks of his Norden.
One word on tyres. I replaced the Metzeler Karoo 3 recently with Heidenau K60 Ranger. Much better off-road and still good on tarmac, guess that might become my tyre of choice.
The bike came with Pirelli STRs. But for slippery mud Pirelli Scorpions are better.
Great sum-up! Somewhat late to the party, although I've been following this channel on/off for a while. Without a shred of doubt one of those places where one finds the most comprehensive and thorough reviews.
Been considering Norden 901, which for a KTM1290 Super Adventure (-19 model) represents somewhat of a downscaling. Latter is however, the trend these days it seems. And, for those of us who do like adventure riding, rightfully so! I've not yet made up my mind yet. Norden 901 is undoubtedly a great motorcycle, much proven but the/your thorough reviews. For a Scandinavian maybe even one of several potential candidates. But the older 1290 still does a marvelous job. Time will show, cheers :)
Wonderful review and Q&A. One of the most complete and exhaustive reviews I've ever seen. Suspension comparison was outstanding. Norden901 would compliment my 501FE. I've be up for suspension upgrade being a taller bloke myself. Thank You...might be long, but I could watch even more talk about the Husqvarna Norden. Cheers!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Your videos are always great. This review is the best I’ve seen.
Thanks for doing what you do…
I appreciate that!
And yet another excellent review Dave! Thank You!!!
My pleasure!
Amazingly well done review, Dave.
Thank you Gino
Great information Dave, its been awhile. Thank you. Good seeing you again.
Thank you.
Brilliant review, business as usual. Thanks for the thoughtful, thorough insights on the bike/s 👌👍
Much appreciated! We put a lot of effort into that one getting to know the bike.
Excellent review. Thanks
Really looking forward to the Nordan Expedition Review as most of the things I wasn't happy about on this bike have been addressed. It looks to be a good package.
Hi Dave
Thanks, I really like your honesty.
Very welcome. It's a great bike.
Great review. Thank you for this. All the info and great riding. Cheers from uk.
Glad you enjoyed it!
For me and my skils here in Belgium the standard suspension will do. The upside off this is that I can buy a Honda crf300 rally and even modify it and use this for the off-road stuff.
Yep good choice.
A great full comprehensive review, thanks for your honest opinion on a whole bike review
Cheers Windy
A great bike. Thank you.
Excellent sound and film production
Thank you
Absolutely brilliant review its really good to see both the good and the bad mentioned :) last year my dad an i got two 390 advs to go to the Nordkapp on unfortunately i ended up with a battle on my hands due to issues with them an the displays/poor pdi work and both bikes went back for a refund at 147 an 269 miles,
had a few bikes since ended up back on a gs had to part with it due to ongoing shoulder issues, then a Himalayan which was riddled with issues and was refunded at 500 miles which thethe dealer agreed shouldnt have happened.
Then i got the 300 rally which has been flawless im giving that to my dad :) as hes bikeless still + he wants a lighter bike an we are moving to Scotland (no green lanes) so looks like the Norden or a 2019 era africa twin might become my next purchase.
It looks like it fits the bill perfect for a long distance adventure tourer with more than enough capability for the gravel roads we will be doing on our trip :)
Thanks again for a great review
Great review, thank you!
When i first saw pictures of this bike, i thought it looked ugly. But as i have seen more of it in real life, and learned more of its capabilities, that damned thing has started to grow on me. I might have to take one for a test drive.
I like the look of it front on. Means business.
Excellent review Dave! Thank you!
My pleasure! Thanks Peter
A great review very in-depth well presented and Nugget wish him well and hopping he's back on a bike soon Nugget is a great character to have on a bike review or trip
He sure is. He's now back on the bikes.
Great review !
Thanks!
Great review Dave, thanks.
Thank you
With good support from KTM/Husqvarna , great bikes. For us plebs, nightmare, possibly the worst company I've ever had the misfortune to deal with in over 40 years of riding and owning bikes.
That's not been my experience. Quite the opposite.
@@MotorcycleAdventureDirtbikeTV Glad to hear it, however that has 100% NOT been my experience. The way I was treated at their dealership here, and the wash their hands of it response from KTM UK is beyond disgraceful.
Where I live the two dealerships are completely separate, and I guess there's a good reason Husky give double the length of warranty that KTM do. I've learnt the hard way: never trust a dealership for servicing or repairs (I own a couple of BMWs and here in Sweden BMW are arrogant and incompetent, cars and bikes. In Germany they give incredibly good service. I would never buy any bike second-hand that had been serviced in OEM workshops - do it yourself and you know it has been done right; if it's too complicated buy a simpler bike!)🕊
@@ernier9033 I hear that, in the UK you lose your warranty if it isn't done by a dealer.
I was considering an 890 to replace my T7, but KTM are not seeing my money again. Vile dealership I had the misfortune to be abused by here in Scotland.
Another top shelf review from MAD TV👍. Other than rear suspension it appears Husqvarna has delivered a very competent and versatile adventure bike. Teething problems here in the USA with rear shock failures and other niggles give me pause. I would like to see KTM up their quality assurance game as generally I am a fan of their products.
Thank you. A great bike and for most the rear shock won't matter much.
As an American Im surprised to learn that the Norden could be bought with various suspensions in Australia. I waited for and just bought the 901 Expedition specifically so I could have the WP XPLOR suspension ie 240mm. I see the XPLOR PRO out there but here its around $6000 and Im just not sure it worth it when the XPLOR has proven so good.
the bike I rode had 270 mm suspension. Simply amazing.
Very thorough review.. I have a KTM 690 R and thinking about getting a Norden instead as I want more (well some at least) comfort. Thank you.
Glad I could help!
Great review, now that Honda has brought the Transalp, how would you compare it to the 901?
For serious off road there is no comparison but then again each bike meets its design and use brief. It’s like comparing an off road buggy to a suv
Another superb review. Cheers!
Thank you kindly!
Rode home in the rain and was quite surprised at the protection you get. My legs were completely dry. I don't really get the complaining from buffeting. I've got many years with no windshield at all and my Road King has a huge windshield with a massive bubble of calm behind it. The last thing I want is a windshield jamming me in the face or neck so the protection I get on the 901 is perfectly fine by me.
Thanks for sharing. I found the fairing slightly irritating on longer rides but I'm glad you aren't finding it a problem.
Thank you so much for all your bike reviews, they are realy informativ and entertaining. You are one of few on the Tube who ride them as they are supposed to (like me ;-)). Keep up the good work!
/KTM 950 A
Glad you like them! There is a truck load of reviewers out there that really don't ride the bikes very far at all and certainly don't methodically test them. Frankly I don't know how they get away with it. And then there's the reviewers that talk from pictures they've seen of the bike.
Excellent review! Now I just have to somehow convince my lady to let me have one.
Go for it.
I don't mind if my feet touch the ground at the same time as the seat to foot peg distance and geometry is more important. I have sometimes raised the seat or lowered the foot pegs to achieve this. I think the Norden is a great bike once you do what comforts you. big thumbs up Dave.
I think it is a great bike.
Love your reviews and channel guys, I'm pretty inexperienced off-road and recently finished my LAMS period in VIC coming from a 650 V-Strom, I'm super interested in the Tiger Rally and the Norden 901 but can't work out which bike to choose and don't have the experience to trust my choice. Out of the 2 listed bikes which one would you buy in my position thanks Brett
Either, look at the review, they provide detailed information, look at support in your local area and the quality of after sales service and go sit on them
Great review Dave. I watched all the way through and it was very informative. Question. I have a 890 and am getting a 701. Would you upgrade the seat to a more comfortable one if you could on the 701 as you’ve ridden it a while now? Thanks
Probably not. I like the standard seat. I tried a seat concepts seat that is fantastic on my 690, but the Husky one didn't do it for me.
Another great review Dave 👍
Thank you
Love it! Thank you so much for the review. I have a deposit on both a norden and 890 adventure R - they are both really hard to get up here in Canada. I’m 50/50 highway commute for work and in my spare I basically only do trails - nothing majorly challenging though. Which one would you pick?
Norden
Great video, thank you. Re the 240mm fork option you mention, is that the same WP XPLOR 48 as in the 890R?
Not sure but I have a feeling it’s not because it’s cone valve tech
Hi Dave great review as always ! Bit confused about the suspension so there is a standard 43mm forg then a I guess explore pro upgrade version which I guess is also 43mm then there is a 48mm version on the ktm total different suspension! The comparison to ktm is quickly done but tge diameter plays a big role !! And one thing ! Don't let them get you Strait answer what you think and that's what we love you for
no the outer was just made bigger to accomodate the bigger forks in the triple clamp.
Was able to sit on a Norden and really liked the low weight balance, but they are being marked up - and selling so availability is an issue as it is with the 701 and T7. I stumbled upon an Aprilia Tuareg 660 for MSRP and I have the benefit of a local Aprilia dealer - an issue in the States. So far, I really like it and it is cheaper than both Huskys. While it is a bit more expensive than the T7 MSRP, which are heavily marked up by dealers in my area if you can find one, the 660 is lighter, has a much better suspension and the seat is pretty good. Once I can source a decent bash plate, engine guards and real hand guards, I will see how far it can go.
We test the Aprilia soonish. Just waiting on a date.
@@MotorcycleAdventureDirtbikeTV As with all your reviews, I will look forward to hearing your take. You do a great job, which is why I will eventually own a 701.
Wow, the price of that suspension upgrade can almost buy a guy another bike, It had certainly better be a massive step up.
It was. Worth noting you keep the standard suspension and this goes from bike to bike.
Great review. Thank you.
Thanks for watching!
Thank you, this is a great review. I agree with your analysis. The stock forks feel very superior to the stock shock. I wonder how the higher end shock (shortened to reduce seat height to be the same as the stock shock) would do matched up with the stock forks. Do you think the stock forks could hold their own with the high end shock or would you have to upgrade the forks too?
I reckon you could get a decent shock for not much that would balance things out.
$9,000 Aus for the better suspension?
Is that the same suspension offered for $1500 more on the Expedition model? Of course you also get a taller screen, seat and grip heaters, a heavy duty bash plate, better graphics, side luggage etc. For $1,500 more.
No. $2000 AU more over the standard.
I don’t remember how to renew my channel membership. Can you help me out?
Thank you for the great review!
Question: do you think it is ok to put on 7746 shock and leave the stock fork? Would the geometry change and rear gets too high?
I'd be talking to a WP specialist about that. The standard front forks are good for most stuff.
@@MotorcycleAdventureDirtbikeTV will do this. Thank you for the advice!
thanks for the video alot of good info , im riding a ktm 390 adventure , new to me as im from a off road bush/ mx rider , enjoying it getting use to the extra weight , im 6'1' , get out and ride ,,, cheers steve/geraldton w.a.
Glad to help
Those orange zippers makes me giggle, lol. Nice review, though. Personally I don't regard the base model of the Norden aimed for this kind of hardcore terrain, that's why they did te Expedition model. Oh, it's a one year old clip. Guess the Expedition hadn't arrived yet.
The Expedition review is on this channel. You need to look more thoroughly.
That updated suspension is awesome but also soo expensive
Yep
Hi Dave - I love your work!
A very true and honest review - as always.
I have a 790 with 30k on it and love it - however am doing a 6 week / 10k off road ride to Cape York and want to talk to you before I pull the pin on ordering the Xplor pro suspension in 240 or 270 - any chance I can catch up with you for 5 min on the phone? It would be much appreciated.
Thanks Mark

If thats not a modern take on the old KTM 990 Adventure styling id be staggered
Yeah, but sooo much more
So , after testing KTM 890 R and Norden 901 would you be so kind and tell me what would you choose and why ?
I am on a search for a second bike for everyday 80 miles commuting , sometimes riding with a passenger and weekend green-laning or more serious off-road exploring I normally do now on my KTM 350 EXCF . Off-road capability is very important to me . However decent wind protection at speed of 80 mph would be more than welcome .
What would you suggest , Norden 901 with upgraded suspension or rather KTM 890 ADV R with Aurora fairing or Rade Garage fairing ?
Too close to call. Both tests of the bikes are on this channel, the answers are there.
Hi Dave. Another Great Video. The Norden is starting to really interest me. It took a while to get over the chopped off Front of the Bike. I miss the High Front Fender. After seeing a Lot of Reviews, I really like how Light the Bike feels compared to my R1200GS. I’m thinking the Norden will be my next Bike. I just wonder if I could get the Australian Model here in the USA. I need to replace the Tires on my GS. Can you recommend some for about 60/40 Riding? I would really appreciate your Opinion. You’re a Great Rider by the way. 👍❤️😁 I hope Nugget gets well soon. I loved his Joke about the Bear with no Ear. 😁
I don't about tyres on the GS. The GS community would be right across it.
After your review on
the 890 Adv R Dave ,would you recommend the stock KTM xplor suspension for the 901?
Not sure, maybe the rear shock?
Can this 270mm suspension upgrade be ordered as an option from the factory? Because the replacement isn't economical to have done aftermarket. Way too expensive to spend half the cost of the bike just to improve suspension a bit.
Ordered separately at time of purchase I understand.
Great work short sort of and sweet loved it im in
Glad you enjoyed it
Great review
I havnt watched it all yet
But
Triumph Tiger 900 Pro or the Nordon
Which would you buy with your money
Too close to call. Standard suspension on Tiger Rally Pro better but other features aren't as strong. Recommend riding both.
@@MotorcycleAdventureDirtbikeTV Thanks for hour reply
My gut tells me the Triumph so i think thats where my dollars will go
Can you tell us the precise model of the Explor Pro shock that you have on that bike? There seem to be a couple of different models out there. Thank you!
Sorry mate. I've thrown out the paperwork.
Some of your watchers must have been that kid in class staring out the window daydreaming while the teacher talked.
I agree. I sometimes wonder if they watched the vid! :)
The bike looks cracking, and the performance seems to back it up. However, the questionable reliability and customer service (depending on where you live) keeps me from buying this. I am currently in the market for a midweight ADV bike, and this probably would be my bike if it was reliable. Experiences of others (and people like bigrockmoto) definitely put me off. Especially because I also use my bike for commuting. Having my bike be out of service for weeks if not months (like what happened to BRM) is just unacceptable for me, especially if I pay over 12k euro for it.
Luckily we are spoiled for choice nowadays, and there's still plenty of other bikes out there to choose from. So for me, probably its going to be a T7 or AT.
Personally I wouldn't right the Norden off. You really need to look at the Triumph Rally Pro as well.
@@MotorcycleAdventureDirtbikeTV I've got the triumph and the husky shortlisted. Would love to hear your thoughts on how they compare 😁
@@bexupnorth I have reviewed both bikes in depth on this channel. Have a look at those reviews. My thoughts are clear.
great review mate, just play now is nice WP work in mud , because in motgp is "damm" eheh, thanks one more time for review top

@@MotorcycleAdventureDirtbikeTV it's only good to see you rewies and adventures thanks.
Dave, can you pls thank Nugget for sharing his music playlist for the opening intro to this vid.....although he strikes me as being more of a Mariah Carey sort of a lad. Any chance we can get him on camera doing the floss on your next adventure? Cheers, good work you doing btw
Thanks :)
Interesting about the buffeting, I've had mine for 3 months no issues. I'm wondering if you have a helmet duckbill visor. I use a sport oriented helmet. And have not had an issue. I'm 5 11"
I have a KLiM Krios Pro. Always been smooth for me. I'm not the only one observing this. But good for you
@@MotorcycleAdventureDirtbikeTV I'd say more ppl have it than don't, who knows must just be at the cutoff myself
I was surprised to hear my comment. Than you for reminding me of what I was thinking.
Nice to see what is being done with traction and safety. My concern is system availability and how well it operates under dégradation.
Your hair looks out of place.
It operates brilliantly, particularly as your tyres degrade. Hair?
When are you scheduled to do a DesertX review?
All I can say is after the official press launch I'll most likely get one.
Foot peg mountings can be lowered, how, I I would like them approx 20 mm lower but unaware of how standard pegs can be lowered. As Pauline would say, “please explain “. Thanks
Hi Peter there are a number of options, just look up lowering foot pegs for Norden or KTM 890
@@MotorcycleAdventureDirtbikeTV I fitted SW-Motech adjustable ones on the 390. Can move them up down forward or back a wee bit. Pretty sure they do them for the 890 at least.
nice video
why doesnt Husqvarna put these forks as standard, everyone in every country complains about the stock suspension
I felt the forks were OK, just wasn't that impressed by the rear shock for my style of riding.
Super Bericht
Danke
Does the suspension upgrade affect the on-road handling?
No. Well maybe as it raises the centre of gravity of the bike a couple of centimetres.
@@MotorcycleAdventureDirtbikeTV I just need to work out how I could justify the $9000 upgrade. If you didn't notice the difference while riding it won't be a big difference.
Hmmm maybe I could go off road at every opportunity.
You're amazing man 👍👌
Thank you 🙌
@@MotorcycleAdventureDirtbikeTV you're welcome:) that's the truth .
I got excited about the color pro! Thinking about getting the rear shock at regular hight , 240 mm, and keep the original forks.
Do you recommend that option or getting the whole set? Does the rear one alone have much impact if changed to pro ?
Would love to know what you think!
Thanks and keep us excited please 🙂
I really hope Husqy is watching all of these reviews, every single one says the same thing about the wind visor.
That's what I experienced.
@@MotorcycleAdventureDirtbikeTV I'm glad you discussed it in your video, hopefully they are listening and we get a fix for next year! There is always aftermarket as well. Thank you for your excellent content, this series has taught me a lot about the Norden!
Hi, how much Oil consumtion your bike of 1000 km?
0 - nothing, narder
👍🍻
Good review but forgot to mention the horn loudness. It must be a bike tester thing. Lol.
Good point! I was going to do something on the norn but forgot as it's in a bad location for collecting dirt.
How much of it is KTM. I ask this because i am considering one of these. KTM worries me about reliability.
Concerned citizen if you watched the video the answer to this question is laid out before you. No wonder you are a concerned citizen you have no comprehension 😂👍🏻
@@MotorcycleAdventureDirtbikeTV I’ve watched your videos and have come to the conclusion that not only are you are smart arse, you are a soft rider without too much ability. Your target audience is obviously for people that don’t ride or for retired women who are impressed by very little.
Just the opinion of someone who has been riding for 40 years.
Hi Dave: I have a 901 and love the ride and do not have a problem with wind buffering and I have put a 13 hrs riding day and arrived in great shape, not weary at all. I agree about the rear shock what would be my best option to up grade change to a KTM Adventure R shock or another brand? I am a 93Kg 175cm tall rider. Thanks for the great review.
Thanks for sharing. You are a little shorter than me so that works out great. It’s an excellent bike
@@MotorcycleAdventureDirtbikeTV Do you have a suggestion on best rear shock replacement?
@@pompestcontrol Sorry No.
Think either the Norden 901 expedition, new 2023 up dated, or Aprilia Tuareg 660 on the new Norden 901 it has better window shield better suspension and better rear shock and almost forget larger front forks
Interesting times.
If this TFT display was installed in the latest Husky 701 Enduro, tomorrow I would make a money transfer from the account ... Norden looks heavy and it is in fact. It is a pity that the weight has not been limited to 180 kg
The weight is low but at the end of the day its a 200 kg bike.
spend nine grand on any bike will make it better .
Well, almost! 😉
Great review, but skip those constant musical interludes please
Mate if you don't like music, go somewhere else.
I missed part 1. Pls help me find it via a link
Go to my channel and look it up
Bigrockmoto bought one a couple weeks ago, already multiple - some quite serious - issues and the bike is off the road after only 1,500 miles with a blown rear shock, as well as 5 other issues.. KTM group quality has a poor reputation and seems like the Norden furthers it. My son has a KTM road bike, only done 12,000 kms but the engine has already been rebuilt once, and guess what? Yep, it still constantly overheats in traffic so you have to kill the engine every 5 minutes and wait until it's cooled off. Then there's the electrical issues...
I've highlighed the rear shock. It needs replacing for serious adventure work.
@@MotorcycleAdventureDirtbikeTV why would you pay all that money for an adventure bike when you can't use it for adventure riding because the shock will fall apart !!
@@gregbristowe3057 with that logic, why buy any bike that requires modifications.

INTERESTING. 300 husky paired with the Norden. Are you craving a 2 stroke Dave? You said "the husky 700 you could get anywhere on it. just like a big dirt bike". ruclips.net/video/R9NxPTHeiyg/видео.html . The T7 can go anywhere too. Suspension aside you have added/changed too much on your T7. oversized tank, crash bars, Centre stand, steel panniers. I could not come to terms replacing my Tenere 700 but that Norden would be a sexy second bike. Great review anyway Dave as usual. keep it up you lucky bugger.
My T7 is set up for adventure. I wouldn't go anywhere on a twin without a centre stand, crash bars are very useful, just ask those that have binned the bike without them. I rarely use the aluminium panniers. The big fuel tank weighs the same as the original. Finally, I already have a Husky 300.
