    cars driving around are 1 of 5 things, police, government agents, public transport, military or trucks to haul goods. no citizen in NK can own a car. no to mention that they are touring the spots with paved roads just to make them look better. its something like 3% of roads are paved in NK. also those flashy apartments are 100% empty

      Its given you a voice to millions and you choose to mock it ...
      If only Nkorea did have the internet it would liberate them even if they still could not leave at least they would some voice to the world i do not think they would be so quick to take it for granted ......
      you should not take the the internet for granted you been given the biggest voice and the most ears and eyes then any one in the history the world has had ...Make the most of it Learn and educate while you can ...Plenty reasons why we could lose that voice and access to the internet ..War would be one ..satellite collision. and environment hazards and many many more

    • @ComedyLoverGirl
      @ComedyLoverGirl 9 лет назад

      Epicci Most countries that trade with North Korea are reluctant to defend it, because the North Korean government is incredibly stubborn and corrupt and everybody knows it. It's like an ugly tree in front of their door that they put up with but wouldn't mind if it was cut down. North Korea itself probably doesn't have nukes, considering that every satellite it tried to put up has exploded mid-flight. If it can't put up a satellite and can't feed its people, then successful nukes are unlikely. Don't worry, you're pretty safe from world war three. ;)

    • @IceCreamYouScream-f4i
      @IceCreamYouScream-f4i 3 года назад

      It's not as simple as that. North Korea needs it's military to prevent a faith similar to Libya or Iraq or what they themselves experienced during the Korean War (North Korea was destroyed, and a lot of people have been killed 20% of the population). So they won't give up their army. The stronger you are, the less you will have the chance to be invaded. And Jung Un isn't considered as a God in North Korea.
      The problem are the sanctions who prevent North Korea from having a decent economic growth like South Korea or China, and the government want to liberalize their economy and improve the economic system.

    Funnily enough, they DO choose to walk half the time! If they live just down the road (or a couple of miles away, say), what's the point in taking a car, exactly?

    First time using a video camera, eh? A lot of panning over a scene, then going back over it just in case we missed something the first time. Or just waving it around like a flashlight, like at 7:25 or even worse at 9:15
    Very difficult to watch, but with practice I'm sure you'll get better at it.

      The problem in NK is that you're not actually allowed to film anything. Outsiders who are let into the country like this are under constant surveillance and are only escorted (or transported) to places designated for outsiders to see.
      If you don't believe that, please watch the VICE documentary on NK.

      You would think a utopian society would want to allow everyone to see how awesome it is. Funny how these great dictatorships always need to try to keep people from leaving the country.

    A co-worker just came back from visiting N Korea. He was there for a week. Basically the gvn't controls every aspect of society. There are no shopping malls, no internet services. He was surprised that many do have mobile phone but it's limited to only usage within the country. No cars...and if you see any they are owned by government officials. Money wise...they do have currency but it's not worth much. Foreigners have to use either Euros, or Chinese money or US dollars.

      Korea was ruled by Japan from 1910 until the closing days of World War II. In August 1945, the Soviet Union declared war on Japan, as a result of an agreement with the United States, and liberated Korea north of the 38th parallel. U.S. forces subsequently moved into the south. By 1948, as a product of the Cold War between the Soviet Union and the United States, Korea was split into two regions, with separate governments.

    Reminds me of a former Soviet Union. All foreigners also had to bow to Lenin, visiting 2ww museum was a must, so was a factory and a co-operative farm. City sightseeing involved driving around a few clean exhibitionist city blocks, photos allowed only when permission was given, no city walkabouts, no talking to locals and that was basically it. Same shit. What a crazy good times they were.

    Vietnam lacked direct intervention from the Russians, which is why I didn't mention it. The main point of the Korean war was the adoption of democracy and capitalism in south Korea which was achieved. Although technically a ceasefire the fact that south Korea is leaps and bounds ahead of North Korea socially and economically is considered a win in the states.
