It depends on how you fold your fabric.
With the method I used in folding my fabric, there isn’t a need join.

Hie Nancy ,this is beautiful, you are a blessing to our generation, thanks a lot,so i would love to add lining ,do i use same measurements for the lining as well?secondly i desire to add pockets ,lastly may you please guide me on how to attach the zipper ,im a beginner ❤thank you

It’s not compulsory to use same measurement for the lining. You can actually cut the lining in a straight form, and then pleat it around the waist long joining, making sure that the lining is wider than your hip circumference. For the zipper, I will do a tutorial on that.
