Just got one maybe a month ago and just opened it and put it together last week. Now that it's going to be nice weather in a few days I'm going to season it and start using it too. They did change the sticker situation and now it's just a big piece of paper with tiny magnets holding it on. However the brackets for hanging the lid are supposed to be put on with them angled down instead of up and the lower shelf is supposed to be put on with the sides pointing up. (I suppose those two will work either way though.)
First off, thank you for no annoying background music. Great review. I have a BS and the rear drip is inconvenient. Glad you highlighted the drip system.
Thats funny someone else noticed your bottom shelf is upside down. Also to those worried about the sticker, they now attach the sticker with magnets instead of glue. They heard the comaints and made the necessary changes. It's waaaayyyy better than the Blackstone.
I got one and love it. The sticker was a pain. Like you, the drainage system is the main reason why I picked it over Blackstone. I would spring for the $30 cover. Goes all the way down to the ground. I’ve made smash burgers, beef cheesesteaks, chicken cheese steaks, hibachi rice, breakfast and more. Highly recommended.

Price has def gone up in 3 years! I just got mine, no lid. Labor day special $100 off from Lowes. No more stickers, it's a magnet now.
I just bought one today. They updated the sticker to be attached with a grouping of magnets so it is a no fuss removal now.

Now that your Char Griller Flat Iron is 2 years old how is it holding up?

i just bought one, and they are putting the sticker on magnets now, so you don't have glue on your cooking surface.

I have problems with the wind blowing out my burners On my Blackstone.Does this happen with this griddle?
Nope! Char-grillers does it right by enclosing the bottom where the Blackstone is exposed. That was the one reason that sold me on CG.

Can you cook with the lid on to hold the heat in or does the lid sit too low to the griddle and touch the food?
No need. Flat Iron put off enough heat. Plus the lid would become to hot to handle. If I need to cover anything I use a foil pan.

What did you use to scrub the sticker off?
I used very hot soapy water and a scotch brite pad with a little elbow grease. Worked great!!

The shelf is a piece of shit to assemble. Yours is on upside down
