Tom really did change the game for modern metalcore guitarists. still hundreds of bands today trying to emulate what he did on all our gods and lost forever. insane legacy to have honestly.
The biggest takeaway is, that except from the c4 from Waves, every Plugin he uses just comes with pro Tools Now. He‘s just making it Sound Killer with basically Stock Plugins 🔥🔥🔥
Tons of records have been made with stock plugins and less. Sure there are some that enhance and some that have become industry standards. But we’re constantly bombarded with plugin ads especially around the holidays with “deals” and I’m def victim to falling for the hype and ‘sale’ but I look at my catalog of plugins vs what I actually use and even sadder see ones I don’t even know what they do/haven’t used and realize I was just another victim. Haha
Hey URM! Been subscribed for a long time now and love the service - curious if we’ll get a NTM for the newer Architects material? Would love to check out the stems!
So what was the signal chain/rig used for the guitars on this album? I cant find any concrete info. Ive seen the rack of different amps they used during the recording, but which exact amp was used and what cab/etc, I have no idea. Currently trying to compile an Architects preset on my Fractal FM3.
@@guitarfreak2105 Strange thing is, when I put a Dual Rec in the preset it sounds nothing like their tone, and 5150 sims sound much closer. Guess it really depends on the exact IR and other things in the chain. Its so weird there hasnt been a single dedicated Architects patch for the Fractal platform yet.
@@Henry14arsenal2007hey pal, I have this bit from the NTM session: "The amps that were used are an EVH 5150III together with a 5150 and a Diezel Herber together with a Mesa Dual Rectifier." It's quad tracked for the main riffs. One of each tone blend panned left and right. I think your ears are correct about it being a bit more 5150 dominant.

Absolute legend. Rest in power
To be honest, I think that Tom should be remembered as a guitar hero. What he did to modern metal is under estimated. We will never forget you.
Tom was so ahead of his time. Such a phenomenal guitar player.
I can listen to that riff all day.
I’d take a leap of faith…
Rest in Power, Tom
Tom was so fucking good man

Yes! you don’t need fancy plugins ! You need to be good at mixing

An awful lot of bleghs around here. That is such a sick riff. Ridiculously precise 🔥

I can only help with the amp. Sort of. He used a rectifier for this song. Which one you ask? No idea.
