One of the things I have learned from you Alan is to be a bit less rigid....more relaxed...thank you for your inspiration...looking forward to the next part...hope we hear from you again before Christmas...♥️
make sure you have your paper nearly flat so the ink will flow from you pen or piece of wood .I let the nib build up with the black and don't ever clean it ,,,,
I totally admire your industry...! Ive learnt so much from your paintings, dear sir. I also teach drawing n painting myself. Most questions I get; (specially from children..) Can you teach me how to paint? And would like to respond; ...you need to learn how to DRAW first..but instead, I try to teach both disciplines at same time progressively...at the end, works out ok. Thank you so much for sharing and best of wishes!
it is a piece of a wooden peg sharpened ,you can use a piece of sharp cane ,or an ordinary knib ,, a match stick . nothing special ..... have your board almost flat ..all the best
one more question if you please. What type of ink do you use and do you also use store bought permanant pens and if so what type? I am also curious what box paint set you perfer. I am lookong to upgrade. Cheers!
it is acrylic ink,,,,, my paint box at the moment is a 500 holbein metal with the thumb hole covered with a piece of white plastic . if you are carrying it about to a group . only fill one side with paint to fold it could leak otherwise
My sketches were becoming too tight. I thought, "I need a good healthy dose of watching Alan." Beautiful and inspiring work once again. Thank you.
Brilliant drawing Alan, you're a great talent and inspiration to watch sir!
Brilliant. So many people get caught up in What pen to use, myself included , and you do this great piece with a sharpened stick.
