If you ever get into larger and/or more complicated kits, snapping out pieces one step at a time will be beneficial. Some pieces are near identical to others but aren’t interchangeable and could cause issues
cool beginner tip: the B5 front skirt piece can be cut in half, right between the small ball joints in order for the two front skirts to move independently.

Woah! I have that same one. Great first kit. Big surprise, hope you liked it. If you ever want a jumping on point for the anime, I recommend Gundam Thunderbolt. It's a 60 minute spinoff film that takes place concurrently with the Gundam The Origin Manga. It has a great OST.

@Nimble I never argued that ibo is bad, it's fantastic. Unicorn is probably my favorite gundam because it capitalizes on the tech aspect and the character development as war hardens Banagher is great. 00 was my first gundam show so it was pretty good for me, but in an honest critique, I think the show is unnecessarily nihilistic about the way it treats it's characters, the same reason I feel neutral to war in the pocket. I'm not trying to start a fight on the internet, but I know most of the reasons 00 is good. I can't think of any reason it's necessarily bad, so I would probably put it at a 7 or 6/10.

I could've sworn kits like this used modeling glue. Good to know there are kits that don't. Starting with The Boy himself for your first Gunpla is a great choice, too.
Bandai started producing models that don't use glue in 1985, but they weren't all snap together. It wasn't until the Char's Counter Attack line of kits a few years later than Bandai ditched glue all together. Snap built kits became the standard for them from there on. Nowadays, almost all Japanese model making companies make snap built model kits.

Awesome! Gundam is huge in Autistic culture. It's a special interest of mine. As a business Gundam got it's start in the after school model building clubs,popular with Japanese Autistic boys. Then the franchise took off and more anime could be made. It's quite a fascinating series about war and human nature, and throwing people of different neurotypes together: "Newtypes" who are Neurodivergent, and the old types (NT), adds to the conversation about the nature of people and violence.
Living my dream...I've never had the spare cash for the supplies, let alone a gunpla of my own to build! I'll just watch you with glee(and mild envy) while you build it :^]

It's nice to have physical representations of the mobile suits of your favourite gundam manga / anime to peer at on your shelf from time to time. There is tons of cool ones out there, but be wary of the complexity and price leap between HG and MG is rather large. (But so it's the quality leap also!) There is larger 1/100 scale HG kits that's fairly cheap and would act as nice next step from this beginner friendly Gundam kit 🙂 I hope to be seeing more gundam model kit related ASMR on your channel ER! It would be a nice sub category for relaxation aswell as pay tribute to your newfound Gundam manga. 😌
Just because I like dropping dumb facts; I believe it's pronounced the first way because Gunpla is short for Gundam plastic model, tho I don't really think the pronunciation matters as long as you're enjoying the building, posing, and sometimes even playing

Although they are both made by Bandai, LBXs are like Gundams, but with training wheels. I started model building with LBXs too, so leveling up to Gundams felt really natural.
If you ever decide to make a Master Grade kit I think you'll be blown away by how much more detailed and advanced the MGs from the past 3 years have come MR. ER
