To be fair, it's not that we aren't giving independence to Northern Ireland. They're still in the Union because they wanted to be. One day a united Ireland may happen and as an Englishman i'd be happy to see that day.
As a Brit with Scottish/ Irish ancestors, I have loved all things Spanish, for many years, but to hear this beautiful woman singing is the best. The Irish Nation have a great affinity with Spain.

Dear Helena you touched my very Soul and though my ancestors have left ireland a long time ago and crossed the ocean to the United States in hope for a better Life. Your way of singing this Song makes me remeber from where my family had come from and somwhatwakes a longing inside . Thank you so very much Helena great work.
@@HelenaCinto You are very welcome. At 3:28 goosebumps crawled up my arms. The ghosts in the lyrics were set free to roam. That is a wonderful gift and talent.
What a beautiful emotional rendition of this ancient Irish rebel song, as a man from Royal Meath this song stirs my Celtic Irish emotions, I'm living in Italy for the last 2 years now and I miss old Ireland so much that I am thinking of returning very soon..
Słucham non-stop tego przepięknego wykonania tej cudownej pieśni o Wolności i Poświęceniu. Zawsze bądźmy po stronie Pearse'go! I listen non-stop to this beautiful performance of this wonderful song about Freedom and Sacrifice. Let's always be on Pearse's side!
"Oh had they died by Pearce's side or fought with Cathal Brugha. Their names we would keep, where the fenians sleep, neath the shroud of the foggy dew". As an Irishman I try my best to stay neutral regarding our "colourful" history with Britain but that verse brings the Republican side of me right to the top... Beautiful rendition of a beautiful song.

Wonderfully done! There is another verse to this song (would be the 3rd if included) that virtually no one sings, for whatever reason: "Oh the night fell black, and the rifles' crack made perfidious Albion reel In the leaden rain, seven tongues of flame did shine o'er the lines of steel By each shining blade a prayer was said, that to Ireland her sons be true But when morning broke, still the war flag shook out its folds in the foggy dew"

The Dubliners
As down the glen one Easter morn
To a city fair rode I
There Armed lines of marching men
In squadrons passed me by
No fife did hum nor battle drum
Did sound it's dread tattoo
But the Angelus bell o'er the Liffey swell
Rang out through the foggy dew
Right proudly high over Dublin Town
They hung out the flag of war
'Twas better to die 'neath an Irish sky
Than at Sulva or Sud El Bar
And from the plains of Royal Meath
Strong men came hurrying through
While Britannia's Huns, with their long range guns
Sailed in through the foggy dew
'Twas Britannia bade our Wild Geese go
That small nations might be free
But their lonely graves are by Sulva's waves
Or the shore of the Great North Sea
Oh, had they died by Pearse's side
Or fought with Cathal Brugha
Their names we will keep where the fenians sleep
'Neath the shroud of the foggy dew
But the bravest fell, and the requiem bell
Rang mournfully and clear
For those who died that Eastertide
In the springing of the year
And the world did gaze, in deep amaze,
At those fearless men, but few
Who bore the fight that freedom's light
Might shine through the foggy dew
Oh, back through the glen I rode again
And my heart with grief was sore
For I parted then with valiant men
Whom I never shall see more
But to and fro in my dreams I go
And I'd kneel and pray for you,
For slavery fled, O glorious dead,
When you fell in the foggy dew.
❤️thank you very much
