    I was only, like, 6 when the prequels started coming out and my child's mind LOVED them.
    Then, the day after my high school graduation, my friend and I decided to marathon all six and ended up laughing and facepalming our way through the prequels. I'll always have fond nostalgia-fueled memories of them, but man were they bad.

    • @TAP7a
      @TAP7a 2 года назад

      Im glad you recognise that, because it seems that by sheer weight of numbers people have decided that, for the same reason, the prequels are good actually. They’re such crap movies but if you dare say that on something like r/PrequelMemes, a forum initially brought about to mock the awful, awful writing of the prequels, you get buried under reply after reply of “you clearly don’t understand”, “okay boomer”, “you’re just salty that the original trilogy lightsaber fights were terrible”

  • @breezeark9154
    @breezeark9154 9 лет назад +24

    You know what I'm waiting for? Arkham combat-lightsaber fighting.
    Just counter the blaster shots, perfect timing gets you an instant kill, missing slightly gets you a deflection. And the shots miss most of the time, so the only real threat are other lightsaber weilding guys. Like in the movies. Write a good story and stick a decently built character on the field, then grab some force powers and RPG elements. Boom! A star wars game I'd actually buy.

    • @randomguys2
      @randomguys2 4 года назад

      @@Yurinarytracked I liked the story and hated the gameplay. For one it again went the normal Star Wars games route where you're ''one of the last Jedi'' and yet it feels like playing a cripled Ewok, flailing around that stick of his. Most things can parry or take several hits from lightsabers, and the combat clearly seems designed for single target engagements, but then again they keep throwing 4-15 dudes of varying difficulty at you, sometimes from behind corners in blindspots. It has not one, not two but FOUR (five maybe?) bossfights that you are predetermined to lose, meaning they're basically time wasting cutscenes. The exploring aspect and backtracking also end up being utterly pointless since 90% of the shit you can find in non-story related areas is cosmetic and therefor irrelevant. It looks cool in the trailer, and some of the moves and planets are visually stunning, but that's about it. Big disappointment. At least to me.

  • @Famous_Author_John

    Reminds me of when I got "The Amazing Spider-Man" for the Wii rather than for any other console. So in that version of the game the whole free-roaming city exploration thing was just COMPLETELY removed (which was really annoying to me as that wasthe biggest, if not only reason, I got that game), not even exaggerating. You'll beat one level and then be immediately teleported to the next level area without any explanation as to why you're here until Peter Parker utters something very broad about the goal (of which you also aren't really given, I just completed levels by following the very linear layouts of the actual levels). Now you WOULD have been given this information IF YOU HAD ACTUALLY BEEN ABLE TO GO THROUGH THE FREE-ROAMING CITY (where the whole reason you're going there is described). The only time you were allowed in the city is on a few occasions when you had to chase down a bad guy and you were given very specific guidelines (as well as no background as to the area Spider-Man starts in in those chases). When I originally started I just thought maybe you had to beat a few levels to get to the city but then I figured it out like a third of the way through the game when Peter Parker mentioned something about having gone through this area in the city before and not having seen anything. Upon making this discovery I immediately returned the game and traded it in for the Xbox 360 version which (unsurprisingly) DID have said free-roaming city exploration. Not only that, the controls for the Wii version were incredibly terrible. I initially thought I just needed to get used to it, or that I sucked at it, because the first level had you shoot a web through a bunch of lasers (on the first level, like halfway through it I might add) to show you you could do this. I was stuck there forever because either my aim was terrible or the hitboxes for the lasers were incredibly increased. The controls for the Wii version, you actually had to aim, and it was very jumpy and very sensitive, just pressing the button to shoot the web I'd aim like a foot lower. Anyway, just relating to Yahtzee's frustration. That game was fucking terrible on the Wii.

Graphics are better, character models actually behave organically, plus the "Alternate Reality" chapters actually are entertaining, at least for one playthrough. the Wii has more changed the just a multiplayer mode. (no level select, no difficulty options, twice as many single-player levels (and the ones they share have different layouts), the story is changed in a lot of places,
    the PSP port has a bunch of extra modes (a wave defense, a 4 player brawl mode, and a one on one force thing),
    the DS is also different (its own levels, touch screen mini-games, 4 player free for all, and a touch screen duel mode).

    Here is how to fix Midi-Chlorians.
    Ret-con the intelligent part and say they are parasites that feed off of force energy and people who have high midi-chlorian counts mean they likely have a higher connectivity to the force than average and all they need is a stiff does of antibiotics to clear it up.
    Here is how to fix Episodes One, Two, and Three. (Aside from acting complaints.)
    With the purge of 99% of the Jedi Order and its re-founding many things had to be rediscovered. This time, without the help of 10k years of god worship behind it. Midi-Chlorians are now parasites. How could this realization be take so long to be discovered? Thousands of years of God Worship inevitably tainted the findings.
    All of this can be offhandedly mentioned in one of the new trilogy and all is well again.

      +Indigo Julze wasn't that only a thing in the first movie? Can't remember why star wars nerds get so upset about that. Thanks to the Prequels we got a lot more stuff (including KOTOR, Clone Wars, Republic Commando etc.). People on the internet are so butthurt about the prequels these days its almost tragic. I see large forum posts complaining about Jar Jar while he was only in one movie and at the beginning of the second one.
      The Prequels are ok but Star Wars nerds are just weird and can't get over the facts that the same concept gets old after 20 years. I like the prequels because of that whole 'the jedi are really the good guys believe me' plot.

    • @thegardenofeatin5965
      @thegardenofeatin5965 8 лет назад +6

      +Indigo Julze A lot can be done to fix the prequel trilogy. First, ditch the line "recently elected ruler of the Naboo." Make Padme a hereditary queen who's parents were just assassinated. That's why the Jedi are there, to investigate the murder. It does away with all that boring trade negotiation wank. Also, Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon need to switch roles, with Qui-Gon being the wise master who stays on the ship and offers guidance, and Obi-Wan goes on the adventure. In addition to giving the film a protagonist, it would make things later make sense. As for Midi-chlorians...Ditch the concept entirely and have Obi-Wan call Qui-Gon and say "Master, you must meet this boy. I've never felt a presence this strong."

      I did. I loved them both and thought the prequel did a good job of explaining everyone's backstories. One thing i don't think people understand is that Star Wars is not a Sci-Fi, it is what is known as a "Space Opera," which are, as one could tell, are stories written similarly to how classical Opera was written (With or without music) and are set in a futuristic setting. In fact, Star Wars was based upon Mosart's Opera "The Magic Flute."

      Because they were terrible. They were poorly written, the actors were clearly directed to act with as little emotion as possible, and the story was all put in second to make room for shiny effects. Effects that made nothing look actually lived in within the prequels. They also do the worst of crimes, making good movies suddenly a little bit worse by their very existance. The prequels are an abomination to all things good and decent in the world of cinema.

      1. Characters who have no memorable traits and are practically emotionless robots.
      2. Boring talking and politics.
      3. WAY too much cgi, so much as to be like, "Hey, look what we can do now! Isn't it epic kids??"
      4. Lack of legit hard work, heart, and collaboration that the originals had. George Lucas was practically a dictator of the prequels and made up all the decisions while his employees nervously agreed and laughed at his jokes to not get fired.
      5. A lot of what happened in the story makes NO sense and doesn't really align with the originals at all.
      That's all I can think of at the moment, but I'm sure there's way more sins to be had. All that being said, I'm sort of with you. I kinda like the prequels myself, somewhat. But they could've been way better, ya gotta admit. And Jar Jar was SSOO annoying!
