"Chronic lyme disease" specifically refers to a fake disease. It's a pseudomedical term people use even when there's no evidence that they were ever infected and no link has ever been found between a persistent infection and the symptoms they report, it's total bs.

Only the extra money beyond the threshold is taxed at the higher percent, so there will never be a situation where the charitable donation saves you more than it costs. (The only arguments for it are things like it being beneficial to the business in other ways like perceived good will by the community, which I don't think would be the case giving to Never Stop Scammin' as the charity of choice.)
You could conceivably conceal some parts of your operation under a charity, and have the money from the charity both be tax free and somehow flow back to the parent company. Im thinking of something in the lines of "laptops for childrens hospitals" type deal where a company can donate laptops for tax credit and then sell support to the hospitals getting the laptops to recoup.
