The way how Mr. Stewart is talking about Francois Cevert is heartbreaking. It seems it still affects him. In a few days (Oct 6th) there will be 50th anniversary of Francois last last lap. Salute Francois!
Wonderful relaxed interview again, I'm gradually working my way through them all and can't wait to see who's next! Long may they continue and thank you Justin. This is a superb resource for future generations!
I love " If you fly with the crows you'll get shot at. Fly with the eagles" . Never realized Jackie was a mechanic. I remenber how Jackie dominated F1 with Ken Tyrrell - saw him at Watkins Glen 🏴✌️ Great interview 👍🏁 Watching from New Hampshire🇺🇲
Thank you again for all of these interviews, they are all totally fascinating. For everything JYS has achieved he is such a humble man about his own achievements and if he ever is told about the comments that go with this interview. Thank you for everything you have done for all of us.
This series is absolutely superb Justin, thank you for the insight into the lives and minds of these unique men. Truly a unique channel. I turn up the volume and it feels like I am right there. This one at 6:56 gave me a complete "Alain DeCadenet being buzzed by Ray Hanna in the Spitfire" moment - brilliant! I was so focused on Sir Jackie's words that those dogs scared the living s*^T out of me!
Haha my girlfriend said the same thing about the dogs! I know most podcasts would edit that stuff out but I like the reality of it all. Thanks for watching - spread the word! JB
This is interesting being an old Petrolhead but I have a family link to Jackie, he was a keen & very good shot with the Clays, he was in the Scottish Team, my Uncle Bill Allan was the Captain of that team, I think there’s a team foto of Bill & Jackie side by side. Bill had been a professional footballer, a goalkeeper & I believe he was a pretty decent shot, my Grandad, Bill’s Dad was an Olympic reserve & a fantastic shot. I do remember Bill telling me how good a shot Jackie was back in the Day. Justin I know this is bonkers but if you do talk with Jackie, do tell him that Bill, who was a larger than life character, I would say charismatic passed away many years ago. Cancer I’m afraid. And a little foot note that side of my Family are related to Jim Clark. It can be a very small World.
Hi Justin, thanks so much for that, I’m sure Jackie will remember his team Captain, albeit we are travelling back in time, rather a lot of the time stuff. It’s a bit of a tug on the old heart strings thinking back to Bill, he was a wonderful character. And sadly he didn’t make it to a ripe old age but that’s the draw of the cards. Without at all being patronising I think your interviews are bloody brilliant, great to hear the old boys reminiscing about their times such a great time back in the 60’s, 7O’s & 80’s, before all the woke & Political correctness of contemporary Life. Maybe your generation will turn it around. All the very best in your endeavours and I was a big fan of your Dad, I know all the old boys are probs blissfully unaware of this but what is/ was wonderful is they added an exciting other dimension to many peoples Lives and I don’t think that can be overstated, so they are all due a massive thank you for that, just fantastic
JYS’s comment about Fangio driving in a different era amused me . I think I am right in saying that there was only an 8 year gap between the end of Fangio’s Formula 1 career and the start of Jackie Stewart’s Formula 1 career.
I don't know, I think I would have cracked the door open a bit, and then let the dogs come in and out on their own, at least for the duration of the interview. ha ha
Hero. A hero for saving lives advocating for safe driving, not for racing.

Love the way he checks his watch even before the interview starts classic!
Jackie is pure class all the way. A true gentleman
Proper gentleman.. I really enjoyed the interview. Thank you for posting.

One of the greats both in sport and living a truly meaningful life. Best of luck.

I knew he’d have some lovely dogs.👍😃

Wow what a connection! I will be sure to tell him in an email. Thank you for sharing. JB

7-8 year gap. But I think in some ways the difference between the cars and the circuits is significant between their careers.
I don't know, I think I would have cracked the door open a bit, and then let the dogs come in and out on their own, at least for the duration of the interview. ha ha
Great listening to Stewart, black and white is off-putting
