I love how she turned into just another statue at the end, that really showcased how she, and the other queens are just thought of as another one of Henry's wives. This was brilliant!

Participants were asked to blink as long as they could as soon as they started to hear the blade come down. The average showed that people could still think 13 seconds after their head was chopped off. Unhumane.

    Something interesting to think about:
Having a “heart of stone” usually means that someone is cold and emotionless, however this is one of the most (if not THE most) emotional song on the soundtrack
Also, during the chorus after the bridge, when the other five queens are all busts, it reminded me of the “I Won’t Say I’m In Love” sequence from Hercules 🧐🧐🧐

This was so beautiful and emotional; Jane Seymour has always been my favorite of the Queens and I related to her character so much in the musical. One of my biggest strengths and flaws has always been my unconditional love for people I have in my life, even when they hurt me terribly. So I can relate to Jane because no matter how much it hurts, no matter how much pain someone puts you through (you can do your best, but I’ll stand the test), all you want to do is be there for them. She’s right; it isn’t fair but we don’t care. Is it healthy? No. And thankfully I’ve learned to cut our people who are truly unhealthy, but that tendency to be there even when it’s so hard will always be there. Thank you so much for this animatic; it’s so beautiful and your drawing style is cute and complex at the same time. Much love from this heart of stone.

      Well:
-her brother married Catherine Parr after Henry's death but he turned out to be an asshole and abused Elizabeth who was living with them until Catherine sent her away to keep her from harm
-she was the only one out of the 6 wives buried in a marked grave
-she may have been Henry's favorite because she gave him a son but he still did things to her like manipulating her by saying ,,You know what happened to Anne" or something like that
-her labour lasted days(I think) and she died about a week later because of an infection she got because her ladies in waiting(or the women who helped her give birth, if that's the wrong term for them tell me) didn't wash their hands first
And that's all I really know about her, tbh I've learned these things on other Six videos, haven't researched myself

  • @nothoughtsheadempty4650

I really love this since theres not a lot of heart of stone animatics out there.
Also i love every single detail in this like in the beginning, the statue of Catherine, her hand is cut off and the ring is there so that means she's divorced. On Anne however, her head is chopped off since she's ofc beheaded. You can also see that she flinched when she saw this, she's afraid it might happen to her.
0:28 I think of this as a stair way of life or whatever since she met this guy and again, she might get divorced or even worse, beheaded. But she still accepts him and will always love him.
2:14 you can have your opinion about this but does this mean she can't live with him? Like i know she made the guards disappear but maybe that part means that won't stop her from loving her son. Also i love this part (yeah i know, no one asked)
4:00 while the queens are singing, i noticed how there's an empty statue or no head of jane and ofc she's singing so that detail is nice. Also does this mean that she'll just be the others? It's like this is already done, this is history and you're part of it. Plus she really loves her son.
I actually cried in this song, just imagine this guy loves you because you finally give him what he wants and the fact that you can't be there when you're child is finally born. She is so patient with him and smart too, if she disobey or do something he doesn't like, she'll be like Catherine or Anne. I also feel bad for edward vi because didn't have freedom and controlled. He also died at a young age.
God this is long, thanks for reading this!

I don't know what I was expecting, but you far exceeded it.
Your animatic made me absolutely get chills, honestly I ADORE the way you constructed this. Your choices were so creative, like the walk up the stairs, the stone statues everywhere, Jane's EXPRESSIONS, the queens as STONE FIGURES AT THE END like the Hercules Muses was INGENIOUS. Ann's and Catherine's heads cracking off, ohhhhmygosh.
Heart of Stone is one of those songs that gave me chills the first few times I listened to it, but gradually started to bore of because it's not really written as a Broadway number - it's more like a ballad pop song that's made to be sung under a spotlight, which is exactly how it's performed, and for that reason it tends to go more under the radar than the other songs like Lose Your Head, No Way and All You Wanna Do.
But my favourite thing about this, the way you set it out, is that I could feel the loneliness emanating from this. I could feel Jane's sadness, and the barriers that were always up between her and her son. When she went to hold him at the end, and then gradually started to turn into stone... How it pans onto her gravestone.
I just gotta say, your animatics are some of the most thoughtful and well built creative pieces I've seen, I'm being 100% honest. Absolutely love your work, thank you for all the time you must put into these.

The entirety of this is just stunning. This is a concept I never would have initially thought of just listening to the song, but now that I've seen it I doubt I'll ever hear it the same again. The literal imagery and symbolism blend so elegantly; when she breaks the guard statues I can feel the gut wrenching loyalty she had towards her son and Henry. Something about the room full of not faceless but identical strangers as the world watching their life really got to me- I can't place how or why.
It's usually a major bummer for me when I can't watch an animatic right away, but I'm glad I waited. This deserved the kind of attention I was able to give by watching it now.
Definicious, you never cease to amaze me 💖

I love how the words ‘My heart of stone’ is meant to both parody the phrase heart of steel in that her love will prevail over all and it also represent the mental (and probably physical) abuse that she had to become accustomed to as a royal woman. [The phrase ‘heart of stone’ seems to have an undertone of depression and implies that no matter how cracked and broken the love she felt became it would nonetheless be there forever as our experiences and how they change us can never truly be undone {also visually represented by the statues around her cracking or breaking apart - it could be representing death but it could also be representing the ‘cracks’ in the relationship becoming more and more obvious as her will is broken down into pieces and the world seems to fall apart around her. I think the biggest thing here is that her statue is one of the most cracked and broken. It represents her death ofc but when I first saw it I realized that, of all of the women, she was broken down the most emotionally to the point where her own identity didn’t matter to her or anyone else anymore; and that’s the biggest message in these animatics, these women’s lives are only remembered by time because they happened to be married to a historical figure not because they have any inherent value to us as we are now.}]
I’ve been through some similar situations in the past and this queen, as she’s represented in the musical, just wants to be there for the people she loves no matter what they might say or do to her. It’s truly sad that some people will so willingly give up their own self worth if it means they can carry on being by the one that they love. It’s even more sad because i’ve done those exact same things and I can understand the mindset of a woman or man who will leave behind their identity in order to make someone else feel loved and happy. (my issue mostly stems from the fact that I faced abandonment a lot as a child. I felt unloved and like no one cared for the things I had to say or the opinions that I wanted to express, and I never wanted anyone’s else around me to ever feel that way so i’d put myself in danger emotionally so that the people I love and care for wouldn’t ever have to go through what I did when I was young.)
Sorry about my paragraphs it’s just so easy to go on and on with these things especially when it hits so close to home.

I like the way Jane seems to be stuck in time and looks at her life from the outside. And all these statues and ruins that surround her are Jane's memories, this is what happened to her in her life once upon a time...(At least it seemed to me that the animatic's actions take place after Jane's death, so in the end she turns into a statue)It was so beautiful!💙I was particularly touched by the moment when Jane sang "Cause my love will still be here".She's probably the only Queen who doesn't blame Henry and may actually love him😭...
