I loved what you had to say Cari! Especially on religion and having children of your own. I am in my early 30s and constantly feel the pressure, even when I'm firm on not wanting to have children. While unnecessary comments from friends and strangers can be super annoying, I was very surprised at the fact that I myself was pressuring myself too. It was easy for me to say I didnt want children when I was 25. It's a whole other thing in your 30s though where that decision is almost final (biology etc) you get feelings of fomo etc. Lol. I am only saying all this because I 1.love to hear from women who also choose not to have children and are living full and happy lives and 2. Because I want to give you a heads up of the questioning and doubts that may arise later. That is also normal. Also random: but if you're ever in Germany and need a tour guide, hit me up sis 😊💜

I think it’s hard for some people to understand that not everyone wants to have their own children. I’m 30 and perfectly content with my solitary lifestyle, and running into high school acquaintances becomes painful when they have children and ask if I’m married or seeing anyone and the “well you’ve still got time to have kids!” comments start coming out. I don’t want children of my own and I think as a society we need to get out of the habit of asking women these questions or assuming that it’s the right fit for everyone.
cari cakes exactly! I read an article a few months back that said we are already beyond the point of no return for climate change reversal, we can only slow down the severity of the warming. Our government is trying to ban single-use plastics here in Canada but even that is not enough to stop the destruction of the planet and I’m not leaving any offspring behind to deal with that mess, haha

On the other hand, at some point our sun is stopping producing energy and than all life will be over anyway, but yeah, in one or two generations the conditions on earth will already be really bad, I don't really want to do that to anyone. Ressource-wise we would need a second planet by 2050 if everyone would live like we do in industrialised countries, that paired with human accelarated climate change is really not a place I want to bring children into.

Super chill, no big deal, marriage is just a big legal commitment so let's just sign some papers and get on w it. I found this Q&A very refreshing and insightful :) I got married early 2018 and we don’t plan to have kids either. Most typically are offended to an extent when I tell them it’s not something I want but it doesn’t mean I don’t like kids, I just don’t want any of my own. On that note, fur babies are gonna take over my life 😂

I'm a redhead, and people do stare and I get comments. It annoyed me when I was younger, but it doesn't bother me anymore at all. I eventually realized that many times people are looking to converse or connect with others and my hair can give them a segue into finding the courage to break the ice. It's such a waste of energy to get upset or annoyed with people who notice you. There are many people out there who feel alone and wish someone would notice any detail about them.

I can relate to the solo travelling part. When I go somewhere with someone, I am more anxious even if it's a close friend I am with because I'm thinking I have to ensure that he/she is enjoying his/her time. At the end of the day, I feel more exhausted than happy... so I prefer to travel alone especially when it's out of the country because I have complete control of my activities. “When are you having kids” is such an annoying question. I’ve never even been in a relationship and I get questions like “when are you finding a bf” A woman’s whole life is defined by having kids or even getting married. I don’t want kids either and I feel the same

I agreed with so much of what you said! Your comments about people's expectations of what steps you should be doing with your life really hit home for me. I'm the opposite of you, I dont like kids but I do want one of my own! It's hard feeling the pressure that you need to act a certain way and have certain attitudes towards things because you're a woman, or because you're a newlywed. In fact-- I dont tell most people in my life that I even want children because I hate the thought that they think that's expected of me-- instead of them seeing it as a soul-searching, and much discussed decision that me and my husband have made. Knowing that we are giving up things to do this. But, I've found much relief in trying to let those outside opinions roll off my back. You can only control yourself and your reactions.

cari, I always feel like I can relate to you in so many ways. First, it’s so refreshing to have someone say that they don’t want kids. I’m still not sure about this myself and it feels like I’m the only one in my group of friends actually questioning something that we’ve been conditioned to believe it’s “the right way of living for everyone”. I feel so lonely about this sometimes. So thank you. Also, I can relate to the solo travelling with anxiety so much. Surprisingly I even find myself less anxious when travelling sometimes compared to being home. Last year I went to Japan by myself for the first time, while I wasn’t even able to use the train in my hometown because of anxiety just a couple of weeks prior, and it was the best experience of my life. I think a big portion of why I love travelling solo is the flexibility as well. I love your work, it’s a pleasure to watch your videos and be a part of your not-so-small fanbase. Congrats for 100k, you deserve it!

I definitely agree with your take on traveling alone. People always ask my huh isn't it boring/scary/lonely/awkward traveling alone, but no it's not. I love it. I love deciding what I want to do, where I want to go and what I don't want to do. I feel so free and content doing that every once in a while. And yes I love traveling with family or friends, but to alternate between that and traveling alone is perfect for me :) That's also why it's inspiring to see you go to all of these places by yourself!

My favourite : when your clothes dont fit, it's the clothes problem not your body. I think we woman are being so hard to ourselves by trying to fit in to the society standards instead of just accepting us for who we are. So tq for this Cari
I honestly went to a shop once to by some jeans and they did not fit me. The lady oner of the shop was so kind and told me that clothes are at fault because they are not good for my body shape (I have natural curves). She then give me a few pairs of jeans for my body shape and with the colors I wanted as well. And to my surprised I looked very good in atlest half of the jeans I tried on.😂 I got 3 pairs that day. And because the lady oner was so kind and smart to know wath type of cloths are good for my body shape I become a permanent client.😂 To this day I buy my jeans from her shop. I wish more smart people will work in cloths shops in my area. I also ended up recomanding the shop to all my friends as well.😁

Yes! We got married the courthouse and intended on having a ceremony and reception and such, but didn’t. Then we thought we’d do a vow renewal for our ten year anniversary (next year!) so I can wear my dress... but now I’ve had kids and it doesn’t fit right.... so we will just have a party again! Enjoy marriage, it’s fun when you are practical and married to your best friend!

And if they don’t like what they see they don’t have to watch it your videos are incredible you do a great job of showing a side of Korea that not a lot of people get to see. I love that you mix it up between fun travel vlogs daily life and then you do Q&A is as well. You have done a phenomenal job with how you do your vlogging. I watch a lot of different people on RUclips and I have to say yours is one that I look forward to like every week because even simple things you’re just so relatable and real and I can’t watch some of the blogs when you can tell that people are being fake and phony such as I have to do this for view I have to be extra happy. No if that’s not what your channels about then don’t do it and you don’t do that you keep it very real and relatable and honest. Sometimes it has been hard for me in korea with the beauty standards. I usually don't care but couple times I have heard the exact same comment from koreans "your eyes are very beautiful, you would look more pretty if you would go on a diet"... I'm european size L (I think my american size is like 14?) so sometimes it has been annoying to hear those comments when you know that in your own country you look perfectly normal and I am happy with how I look. By the way, my sister is gingerhead and I can confirm what you said! Even though we live in a country where people are with 'mind your own business' attitude, my sister gets asked a lot about if her haircolor is her own. I too, have red pigment in my hair but my hair looks a bit orange only if it gets hit by sunlight or I am standing under a very bright light.

I abhor organized tours and love solo traveling, but luckily, my boyfriend enjoys the same traveling style that I do: he's as curious and tireless as I am, so he can keep my (at times unforgiving) pace, but we both know when to slow down in order to really take in an experience or scenery. I wouldn't travel with anybody else. We have been a couple for 15 years, we bought a 19th-century house + surrounding garden with our savings and we're renovating it on our own. We aren't married yet, 'cause we don't like traditional ceremonies, and we are happily childfree. PS: We are from Florence, Italy and we have lived in Korea for a few months in 2013.

I found this Q&A very refreshing and insightful :) I got married early 2018 and we don’t plan to have kids either. Most typically are offended to an extent when I tell them it’s not something I want but it doesn’t mean I don’t like kids, I just don’t want any of my own. On that note, fur babies are gonna take over my life 😂

I'm a redhead, and people do stare and I get comments. It annoyed me when I was younger, but it doesn't bother me anymore at all. I eventually realized that many times people are looking to converse or connect with others and my hair can give them a segue into finding the courage to break the ice. It's such a waste of energy to get upset or annoyed with people who notice you. There are many people out there who feel alone and wish someone would notice any detail about them.

I can relate to the solo travelling part. When I go somewhere with someone, I am more anxious even if it's a close friend I am with because I'm thinking I have to ensure that he/she is enjoying his/her time. At the end of the day, I feel more exhausted than happy... so I prefer to travel alone especially when it's out of the country because I have complete control of my activities. I agreed with so much of what you said! Your comments about people's expectations of what steps you should be doing with your life really hit home for me. I'm the opposite of you, I dont like kids but I do want one of my own! It's hard feeling the pressure that you need to act a certain way and have certain attitudes towards things because you're a woman, or because you're a newlywed. In fact-- I dont tell most people in my life that I even want children because I hate the thought that they think that's expected of me-- instead of them seeing it as a soul-searching, and much discussed decision that me and my husband have made. Knowing that we are giving up things to do this. But, I've found much relief in trying to let those outside opinions roll off my back. You can only control yourself and your reactions.

I loved what you had to say Cari! Especially on religion and having children of your own. I am in my early 30s and constantly feel the pressure, even when I'm firm on not wanting to have children. While unnecessary comments from friends and strangers can be super annoying, I was very surprised at the fact that I myself was pressuring myself too. It was easy for me to say I didnt want children when I was 25. It's a whole other thing in your 30s though where that decision is almost final (biology etc) you get feelings of fomo etc. Lol. I am only saying all this because I
1.love to hear from women who also choose not to have children and are living full and happy lives and
2. Because I want to give you a heads up of the questioning and doubts that may arise later. That is also normal.

cari, I always feel like I can relate to you in so many ways. First, it’s so refreshing to have someone say that they don’t want kids. I’m still not sure about this myself and it feels like I’m the only one in my group of friends actually questioning something that we’ve been conditioned to believe it’s “the right way of living for everyone”. I feel so lonely about this sometimes. So thank you. Also, I can relate to the solo travelling with anxiety so much. Surprisingly I even find myself less anxious when travelling sometimes compared to being home. Last year I went to Japan by myself for the first time, while I wasn’t even able to use the train in my hometown because of anxiety just a couple of weeks prior, and it was the best experience of my life. I think a big portion of why I love travelling solo is the flexibility as well.
I love your work, it’s a pleasure to watch your videos and be a part of your not-so-small fanbase. Congrats for 100k, you deserve it!

I definitely agree with your take on traveling alone. People always ask my huh isn't it boring/scary/lonely/awkward traveling alone, but no it's not. I love it. I love deciding what I want to do, where I want to go and what I don't want to do. I feel so free and content doing that every once in a while. And yes I love traveling with family or friends, but to alternate between that and traveling alone is perfect for me :) That's also why it's inspiring to see you go to all of these places by yourself!

i cant always get myself to believe it but when i do, its magic. its important to remember!!
I honestly went to a shop once to by some jeans and they did not fit me. The lady oner of the shop was so kind and told me that clothes are at fault because they are not good for my body shape (I have natural curves). She then give me a few pairs of jeans for my body shape and with the colors I wanted as well. And to my surprised I looked very good in atlest half of the jeans I tried on.😂 I got 3 pairs that day. And because the lady oner was so kind and smart to know wath type of cloths are good for my body shape I become a permanent client.😂 To this day I buy my jeans from her shop. I wish more smart people will work in cloths shops in my area. I also ended up recomanding the shop to all my friends as well.😁

Yes! We got married the courthouse and intended on having a ceremony and reception and such, but didn’t. Then we thought we’d do a vow renewal for our ten year anniversary (next year!) so I can wear my dress... but now I’ve had kids and it doesn’t fit right.... so we will just have a party again! Enjoy marriage, it’s fun when you are practical and married to your best friend!

Cari you keep making videos and you be true to you because that’s why people watch this channel! And if they don’t like what they see they don’t have to watch it your videos are incredible you do a great job of showing a side of Korea that not a lot of people get to see. I love that you mix it up between fun travel vlogs daily life and then you do Q&A is as well. You have done a phenomenal job with how you do your vlogging. I watch a lot of different people on RUclips and I have to say yours is one that I look forward to like every week because even simple things you’re just so relatable and real and I can’t watch some of the blogs when you can tell that people are being fake and phony such as I have to do this for view I have to be extra happy. No if that’s not what your channels about then don’t do it and you don’t do that you keep it very real and relatable and honest. Sometimes it has been hard for me in korea with the beauty standards. I usually don't care but couple times I have heard the exact same comment from koreans "your eyes are very beautiful, you would look more pretty if you would go on a diet"... I'm european size L (I think my american size is like 14?) so sometimes it has been annoying to hear those comments when you know that in your own country you look perfectly normal and I am happy with how I look. By the way, my sister is gingerhead and I can confirm what you said! Even though we live in a country where people are with 'mind your own business' attitude, my sister gets asked a lot about if her haircolor is her own. I too, have red pigment in my hair but my hair looks a bit orange only if it gets hit by sunlight or I am standing under a very bright light.

I abhor organized tours and love solo traveling, but luckily, my boyfriend enjoys the same traveling style that I do: he's as curious and tireless as I am, so he can keep my (at times unforgiving) pace, but we both know when to slow down in order to really take in an experience or scenery. I wouldn't travel with anybody else.
We have been a couple for 15 years, we bought a 19th-century house + surrounding garden with our savings and we're renovating it on our own. We aren't married yet, 'cause we don't like traditional ceremonies, and we are happily childfree.
PS: We are from Florence, Italy and we have lived in Korea for a few months in 2013.

I hate the pregnancy questions so much. I have 1 child and the questions of having another one drive me up a wall. It never ends but I really wish it would.
