The 705 with the 10.5 DD Coil at 7.5 khz is my go to civil war relics machine. I have no issues keeping up with all the new multi frequency machines with it, at the end of the day I'll have as many or more finds as anyone. The depth is awesome as well. My old 705 is held together with super glue and duct tape, but it still produces the relics for me.

Joey I have had a Xterra 705 since late 2009 or early 2010 I truly believe the Xterra 705 is one of the most under rated detectors to have ever been produced, i still feel the same today I still have the 705 it is the one detector I will never get rid of I found the best find of my life with the 705, it is a find most would say is a find of a life time they will have to pry the 705 from my cold dead hands that's how much i love it

I have spent a solid two, maybe three weeks researching machines to start off with as my FIRST machine. I didn't want to Join the Johneses and get the machine "everyone talks about" (Gold Monster haha), and I didn't want to put too much money into it, that I didn't have somewhere to GO as a potential future upgrade. Yesterday I was two clicks away from buying a Makro Gold Kruzer, and then I noticed a video on the XTerra 705 in my recommended list. Two of your videos, now! The more I researched, the more it became more appealing to me, especially with the options for different coils. The points you raised in this video here have sold me on the machine, and I am so glad I nabbed a great deal on one with a massive 15" coil for less than what I would have paid for the Gold Kruzer. Even after adding a 6" high frequency sniping coil for itty bitty gold nuggets! Thank you for your amiable attitude and for sharing your story on starting off with this machine, definitely sounds like I made the right decision to start off my journey with a great machine.

I like the simple menu and large VDI as well. Maybe the best thing about these new machines is they are finally driving down the prices of buck list machines I have always wanted. Just picked up an Etrac for around $600 and you are now seeing Deus I machines for around $600 as well. Tesoro's are not beginner machines in at all and the most of their models were fast & deep and simply get the job done. I've got a Deeptech Vista X which is essentially a modern Tejon with Iron Audio that does great if you can stomach not having VDI. I agree that that minelab audio is pretty nice when you hit a keeper!

    Joey,
Hey brother, I know exactly what you mean. Back in the day I started with a White's 5000D series2, "the old blue box style". Then I upgraded to the White's Eagle Spectrum. I still have it today and can't seem to part with it lol 🙃. That machine found me more stuff then all my others put together. Now I'm mostly swinging the Vanquish 540 / 8" coil. If it were not for the depth I'm getting now, I'd probably still be swing the old 90's model Eagle. I am already looking to replace the Vanquish with the new Legend though. I like to tweak my machine to my conditions. With the Vanquish, everything is preset accept for notching, and sensitivity. I think it will be a great backup machine though.
Thanks for making these videos and the new mics sound awesome! 👌

If I could ever find a canadian web site that sold them I would love to buy a x terra 705 gold like what you have. I can never buy anything on line from america because my sister is the only one that has a visa & she will not buy me anything in your country. when I give her my money she will only buy online in canada web sites stores. I changed my mind on buying the Legend I am thinking of buying the fisher f75 LTD. at Forest City Metal Detector web sites. What are your thoughts on that detector. It's not always the best detector on paper that does the job. Years ago i bought a Tesoro Lobo Super Traq. At the moment i bought this Tesoro, it was already a dinosaur. But i never had a better detector that could sniff gold juwelry out the trash then this one. I stopped using it about 5 years ago because i missed to may coins. The separation was awesome but it missed lack of depth. Now 5 yeart later still 75% of all gold if ever found came from this detector. About 2 months ago i start selling some of my detectors i don't use anymore but i can't let this one go for sentimental reasons.

One of the best coin hunters out there . I had the Terra 705 a few times from 2010 till 2018 . I only gave up the type due to having other machines that could do the same job and the cashless society hitting hard that meant i needed all multi frequency machines for the beach.
From 2011 till 2018 i had around £9850 of the beaches in coinage . And more than 100 rings .
The tones and numbers are far superior to the Nox 800 or should i say Minelab Lada which i have decided to call it Crap build and poor features). I sold my LAST Nox a bit more than a week ago to go towards another Deus 11 which is far superior and ranks up with the E.Trac / Explorer 11 and Terra in my opinion.
I really was hoping that Minelab made a new version of the Terra and for a short time the Nox seemed that . But it wasn't and the more i used it i felt the Terra was far better .
The only reason other than cashless that i didn't buy another Terra was that its now pretty much discontinued and there isn't any i know of for sale in the UK or almost anywhere.
Also i do have to admit that because of where i used it , i used to wear them down and it forced me to buy a new one every 2 years . If i found one now it would mean not using it enough to justify the machine so i cannot buy another.
But its still one of my favourite machines i have used.
As for the Legend , well ???
I have also heard that Minelab will be releasing a new machine at Detectival UK and it will be a top end model based on the Nox . If it is then i wont be getting it till late in the decade when i might need one. And i have heard the price will be a bloody lot more than the Nox 800. Off putting to say the least !!

I remember following the social media outlets and noktas success stories closely when the simplex came out and it was very clear from the beginning that it was Somethin special one of a kind and never seen before for the price there were absolute beginners going to hunted out old house sites scoring things like colonial coppers things you would see dug with much more expensive machines older deeper finds from hunted out sites and then came the updates and smaller coils and you saw more examples of gold finds can’t imagine how many people payed off that machine already then came the legend and deus 2 and the problem is it seems like not enough people have them yet …… or the machines of the last generation really did a good job at cleaning these sites out and it’s a challenge for even the latest machines to find any goodies ? @@VegasDtech it’s kinda heavy , it’s starting to freeze up and you have to hold the power button for 30 seconds to reboot it! It’s far from being a legend . Salt water chatters like a hyena in heat . I noticed the battery life is not very good . But hey updates updates and oh did I mention updates . Sheesh . This machine don’t hold a candle to the nox . This just just my opinion. To be honest I wish I wouldn’t of (wasted) money buying this machine . And another thing people are so in love with Nokta that I can’t even express my opinion on it being a crappy machine . Ok for example they are telling you can’t judge a machine so quick ! I said ok well you also can’t say it’s a good machine so quick ! . These opinions are my so far opinions ! Things could change . I will give it a little bit of time each hunt to see if it will kinda grow on me . But I also feel like I would be wasting time . And don’t want to pass up on anything good in the 30 so minutes I give it each hunt . I’m trying to keep my mouth shut because some people can only afford this machine and are excited about it . I’m not trying to discourage anyone from the hobby . If you have a question more or anything you want to know about the machine let me know
