7 years ago we had massive floods in the area. Staff and customers were stranded in a 100K+ sq ft grocery store. Those people were rescued by a farmer. You would be pretty surprised at just how many people can fit on a combine. I hope those farmers were sick of all of the coffee, doughnuts, sandwiches and thank you's being brought to them.

It's a damn shame but all the powers that be, seem to be committed to destroying the fabric that this country was built on. Why? Who the fuck knows. My family owned a Livestock Auction here in North Alabama in the US from before I was born until I was about 24 years old and now that I’m in my 30’s I sure wish we had never sold it. Anyway the Stockyards do bring farmers of the community together and it’s very important that farmers have that income from sales on time. I hate seeing that happen to this Market but it’s nice seeing that farmers so far away will help each other and the community out like our farmers do here.

Well, over in germany these "overpaid" professionals don't get anything, as over here what the farmers did there Firefighters and the THW (Technisches Hilfswerk - Technical Relief Agency) would do, and 97% of the Firefighters and almost 100% of the THW are volunteers, who don't get paid a cent. And i am pretty sure that that is also true for the US. At least i can't immagine that small districts have enough funds to pay for a professional firebrigade. But yeah, the Farmers helping is really appreciated!

I'm an old man now, but remember when they passed a bill to stop farmers from giving milk and butter to their neighbors and themselves. I watched as some so-called farm regulators dumping good butter and milk in the ditch so they could not benefit from their farm work. Sometimes the government can be so stupid and greedy cause they are getting paid to make these laws. If it was up to me the farmers should not have to pay taxes at all. They are the people that try to make a living by feeding us.

I lived in a farming area in my youth and know how farmers help each other. I was in a dairying area and if a farmer was too sick to milk his cows neighbours would help out, If someone became bogged, neighbours would help out because that is the way that farmers think, always ready to think. I was a little worried about the lad commentating, he seemed to have the need to hold onto certain parts of his body while speaking. I wonder if he was frightened that they might wash away???

This is so European .... We are special people that deserve a place in the world. Unfortunately, we are criminalized when all we want is to help our neighbors/fellow men. We open our borders to let people flood in hoping they find a better life at the cost of our own standard of living. God bless you and our people... Otherwise you'll just move the problem a few kilometers down the stream.
Recutting and straightening of rivers has contributed to the damages some major floods have done in Germany.
And now they have to implement some temporary storage for rainwater to be disposed of slower.

    • @ev1558

@@theonly5001 Agreed, recutting is only part of the equation, but inaction is not an answer. Why straighten a river?
