If your primary objective is to create policy based on racial IQ, then you have to accept that you, as a white person, will ALSO be a part of that policy; some race realists are in this category (This is where the /pol/ dude was logically inconsistent).
There's also the idea of their race being superior to another. If their metric is based off IQ, then they have to accept that Asians are superior to White people; some race realists accept that.
But you're right most of the time. People _feel_ like they're superior and they look for people that share their view. Then they take whatever "evidence" that side finds and then double down on it. Scientific consensus disagrees with you? Well you _can't_ be wrong; therefore, the scientists _must_ be wrong or they're "hiding the truth".

Tiger parenting doesnt actually work. Because shared environment has little effect on adult outcomes, so it cant explain East Asian success. You can't just assert culture as an explanation without actually showing it holding a causal relationship

Bring this up with race realists, realize that they never in their world view will EVER say that people that belong to darker skinned 'races' do anything valuable or offer anything to the world. I'm really rustled on the firearm thing. According to the text on-screen the chinese invented a form of gun around 1300. The flintlock is from around 1600. IT'S NOT EVEN CLOSE.

I initially thought he was referring to the period in 1920s and 1930s, when a combination of civil wars and international arms embargoes led to a lot of domestic firearms production in China. Most of the these guns were shitty homemade pseudo-replicas of american and european models. It would have still been a stupid point, but slightly less so.
It depends what is considered a firearm. Is it a tube that shoots fire and shrapnel or is it something that shoots a projectile, has a trigger mechanism and all the things modern firearms have. All the weapons we use now derive from the flintlock. I think both innovations can be recognized.

The Chinese had more than that. They had guns, cannons, warships, and flares. They had variolation, the direct precursor to vaccination that Europeans would later learn from. They had paper and the compass and the bristle toothbrush. They developed their own true writing system independently from the rest of the world, something that Europeans never did. They invented the wheel independently from the rest of the world, something that Europeans never did (with the exception of one isolated tribalistic society, 99% of Europe learned about the wheel through the Middle East).
Europeans never invented any of the things I just listed, but improved upon them. You know, the same way that the Japanese improved cars and computers, despite not inventing them.
*When Europeans improve pre-existng technology, race realists call it "creativity" and "innovation." When Asians/non-whites do the exact same thing, it's called, "copying" or "stealing."* Race realists love to exclaim, rhetorically and with an air of naive and self-assured arrogance, that "Asians didn't INVENT it, so how creative are they, REALLY?" Then they go on to completely ignore the fact that Europeans had been doing the exact same thing for millennia.
The hypocrisy and self-assured smugness of these race realists is absolutely embarrassing. They try so hard. Their brains jump through so many hoops to rationalize how to put whites on the top of the implicit "value/dominance hierarchy," but they fail miserably once they actually grasp historical reality and the hypocrisies and logical inconsistencies of their own beliefs. I'd pity them if so many of them weren't so overtly racist.

At this time North africa was far more advanced than Most of europe. At this time the islamic golden age meant many of the advancements were coming out of the middle east and north africa while europe could barely read and write. The intellegence of people is largely based on the society they were born into not the race.

The latest I've heard on science on intelligence and genetics was that on a group of 40,000 people the scientists could explain less than 5% of the differences in IQ.
I didn't read the full study but I would assume that even if they included extreme cases that would still at most be a difference of like 100 IQ between highest and lowest. That would mean they explained a few couple of IQ points with genetic differences.
Having a high IQ is good for many things but people sometimes need a high EQ and other Quotients too
EQ disappears when you control for IQ and the big 5 personality model, basically there's no such thing.

The differences you're talking about are predicted by IQ and the big 5 personality traits, if you try to predict better by adding some measure like EQ it doesn't explain any more variance in outcomes, it has no predictive power above existing measures of peoples intelligence and personality.

@@TonyCox1351 I'm not denying that there's difference in ability to interpret emotions. I'm saying that it's already measured by IQ and the big 5 personality model. This is a technical point more than anything, to do with scientific measures and if they're orthogonal to each other or not, which asks if they can be varied independently. The simplest analogy I can think of is imagine a 2d piece of paper and we can describe any point on the page with an X coordinate and a Y coordinate. Then imagine creating a 3rd measure called Z and maybe that measures a distance along a straight line plotted on that paper. Y is a redundant measure because every position on that line can be described by the components X and Y already, we don't need Z, Z adds no explanatory or predictive power, it's just a useless abstraction.
Except with IQ and Personality you have 6 measures. Because IQ is 1 dimensional and Personality is 5 dimensional. You can't claim there's some new 7th dimensional measure if it's already explained through the others. There's statistical methods used to work all of this out, typically with somehting like a multiple regression equation. You predict some target using measures you've taken and see how accurate your prediction is, and then add another measure in (like say EQ) and see if you can predict with greater accuracy, and no, you can't.
All of different "types" of intelligence go away when you take an IQ measure and a big 5 measure, in other words intelligence is broadly speaking 1 dimensional, that's the g factor, and variations in that intelligence applicable in certain circumstances is modulated by personality. There's been loads of other things like EQ over the years and they've all gone away when tested against IQ and the big 5.
For the research that this guy didn't want to use, the Fire Lance was a the first flame thrower which later adapted into being the first flame thrower / gun / spear combo, a concept I don't know why isn't used today at least in fiction. This was invented in the 10th century and was the predecessor to the hand cannon.
The hand cannon was invented in China in the 13th century and later sold to Europe in the 14th century. A sole person could wield it with two hands firing rocks, arrows, and eventually iron balls. After inventing the first gun, they invented bullets.
The flintlock pistol was made in the 17th century well beyond China.

Subscribed. The race iq issue is real and Destiny touched on the only valid point which is what to do about it. Accepting reality can propel studies to minimize the effects of the differences in IQ (genetic or environmental) ignoring certainly doesn’t help.
Who says that negative population is a bad thing? The trend would be subtle and the only predictable result would be a decrease in workforce and their respective revenue. This likely will he tempered by the increase in technology.
