    This is just a hit job on poor people! Yes there are some poor people who are lazy but there are also some awful undeserving rich people. I'll break it down . 1) Poor people don't go out to by brand new shoes with the little money they have , they will go buy food , electricity and try and pay for their living expenses before luxuries. So that 10 percent you advise to invest just isnt possible unless they want to give up food and other necessities. 2) There are one hundred percent rich people who have been served their mansion and life on a silver spoon. Poor people have to get up earlier than almost anyone else to work their hard job . Rich people have easier hours and I wouldn't say that most work on weekends, have you heard of rich people playing golf alot ... 3) Rich people watch TV , fox and friends is one of Donald trump's favourite shows , good for you that you don't have a TV but you probably still binge RUclips. 4) Poor people are not idiots that won't read a book again after education, they would love to go to university and study to get a better job but they can't afford it . Steve Jobs dropped out of university to start up a company and learn on the job and starting from the bottom means that they learn so they can get to the top not that they already know everything and could do the job at the top. 5) This point just hurts . Alot of poor started life I'm a bad situation (city , family ...) But what about black segregation , they would never have been able to get a good job in the 60s , you should say that they are to blame for their skin colour. 6) 90 percent of Americans don't have more than 1000 dollars of savings is because the 1 percent has most of the money and 90 percent have bills to pay that stops them from saving . And if you watched "The big short" you would know that some of the people who shorted the market found out about it by chance and not because they were genius's. 7) Taking a loan to pay for things isn't always bad and can be the opposite . Some people need a loan to start a new business to make more money and this can be a "want" as they "want" to get out of their job, it's called opportunity cost. 8) The poor would love to hire mentors but they are poor so they can't , and now days most of the information is on the internet written by professionals for free 9) Poor people have 2 jobs alot of the time , and there probably a whole lot of poor people that have great business ideas but can't start them because you guessed it they're... poor 10) Poor people know what kinda job they would like and they will put all the work into it to get their but they don't have the step ladder of money. And Donald trump drifts around so many businesses ideas and didn't even want to be president a while ago and I still don't think he has a clue what he wants to be but he's still rich 11) There are plenty of poor people looking for a different life and will sacrifice alot to get there and gambling is mainly for the rich ( how many homeless people do you see at the roulette table) . I think it's just shameful to say that the poor are unmotivated and will give up after 2 months , it's not based on fact . 12) Some people have to eat junk food because it's cheaper than healthy food ( whole food supermarket is too expensive for some people ) and Forbes has a list of rich and fat people. 13) A point I'll add what rich people don't do is pay their staff more , no one need 100k+ salery and the billionaires at the top only got that rich by taking money off someone else's salery to make a bigger profit margin . There is a Japanese airline CEO that pays him self less than the pilots . That is what rich people should be doing . Thankyou simple psychology for taking the time to read this and hope you take this into consideration.

    Yes and no w no.1. Rich people have more disposable income which allows them to save without inhibiting the quality of their lives. The poor can't necessarily do this.

    • @Derekivery
      @Derekivery 7 лет назад +16

      While investing/saving is a great idea. if you live below the poverty line it is not realistic to ask them to save if they can't pay rent or afford food.

      Yurhomi 24 Stupid comment. Most rich people got there through sacrifices and working hard hence their disposable income. If an immigrant like myself can do it, EVERY single person born in the U.S. can do it.

    The value of time and waking up early is massive! The successful are the ones that have done work when everyone else is asleep. I also think that the perception of failure is huge! In society, we view failure as a reason to quit. I believe that the successful see failure as an opportunity to grow and develop. More often than not, those that are successful are the ones you have held on the longest and learned the most from their failures.

  • @zsch999

    I can relate to the most of this stuff and I'm still poor. I was poor before improving myself and taking good habits and I will probably be forever poor, btw my family has always been... Even I had lost interest in pursuit money and status, now I'm trying to develop an ascetical lifestyle. I think money isn't, at least for me, important anymore.
    Shortcut to money: get into the Mafia, always works! (:

  • @TheGuyegood
    @TheGuyegood 7 лет назад +19

    I disagree with point 7. Actually, rich people take massive loans, they use other's money to build their own wealth. Taking the car purchase for example, rich people would actually take loans to buy it even if they can buy it outright. Why? Because they can invest the money as long as the rate of return is higher than the cost of the loan. By doing that, they actually buy the car using the cashflow generated by the capital.

    • @remingtonsteele3581
      @remingtonsteele3581 6 лет назад +1

      Ye Gu I 100% agree! Also if you put cash into the car it’s then paid for in after tax (30-50% depending on your country and tax bracket) earned over past months and years when the dollar had more value. So the 10k car price is automatically 15k.
      The rich get other people to pay for their toys such as tenants, customers, contracts etc, and pay over a long time; as the value of the dollars in the future ( future value) is reduced due to inflation.
      Ignore point 7

  • @Nintendogurlz
    @Nintendogurlz 6 лет назад +1

    Ha, a lot of these are true! My dad constantly blames others for his failures rather than himself, he always watches tv rather than doing something progressive, and he makes very poor financial decisions. He doesn’t have enough money to buy food (he always asks me for money) yet he has enough money to spend $500+ on birds, as if he doesn’t have around 50+ already. In addition, he also uses the excuse that he’s always tired because he doesn’t take care of his health and he’s so ignorant that he thinks he can do everything, while not learning from his mistakes. Great video!

  • @lizmzimm

    I like this video (and I know it was published over six months ago) but I want to point out that these mindsets of rich people and poor people don't necessarily apply to everyone. Some rich people are not self-made and just inherited their wealth, and some poor people are stuck in an endless cycle that is difficult to get out of and are so focused on keeping themselves afloat that they don't have the energy or time to devote to getting out of it. Just wanted to point that out. Great tips!

      HeroEric98 those second sources mainly come from online sources as he stated that he has, but if some one who has worked hard enough and established a business that can run off of other people, like a franchise, then that is how a normal person can have a franchise. I hear amazon is amazing and once I'm done with college that is where my second source will come from.

    I live in a poor family and they complain all the time like it's someone else's fault. Yet they won't work hard, they spend all the money they DO get on trivial stuff that you could call junk and then wonder why they're poor. they are the type of people who say stupid platitudes like "money can't buy you happiness" and are miserable all the time because they have no money. the funny thing is if you even insinuate for a second that all their money problems are down to their reckless habits, they flip out and say that you are wrong. Victim mentality is hard to overwrite.

    "Poor people get up later" lol. Nurses (uk), Teachers, General construction, janitors.
    There aren't high performance cars commonly on adverts because there are few who can afford them. Not because rich people don't watch tv.
    People who earn the average wage in the UK spend huge amounts of their income on even living. It's hard to save if you have a low income. I understand that saving and budgeting is important but there's little argument in being miserable for 20 years just so you can live well for your retirement.
    Hard for the poor to give out loans. Also hard to PAY for people to help you if you are already poor. The odds of those being helpful AND resulting in an actual pay rise are surely low.
    Come on.

      King Аt Life fair enough and good for you. But is that sustainable advice for let's say 10% the US work force. That's millions who would need to go freelance. But not as a solution for the overarching problem that wages are too low for most people (And that the education system fails to prepare people for managing money).

    Generally good advice, but number 1 is for amateurs. I never pay myself first. I cover the expenses, then I use the remainder to pay myself. Just like a poor person. Except I actively keep costs down, and have 3 sources of income now, so I end up saving a lot more than 10%. Some months are more expensive than others, and income can vary as well. But I've been able to average just over 50% towards savings/investments. For 2018 I am aiming for 75%.

    Suppose you're making little money ever fortnightly and then you have to contribute towards a bill at your Mom's house and then you have other things to buy? What should you do then?

      Not everything, for example the loan thing. Especially rich people who have the money take on loans or leases because they don`t want to bind their money into these depreciating assets. They prefer predictable monthly payments while using the money they didn`t spend to invest and make more money which in return pays for the interest rates

    Hey you scrolling through the comments! U watched enough of this type of videos. U know enough to actually do it. To much information will hold you back. Guess what, most of the rich guys didn't take time to watch this Videos. Maybe a few ones, but not in an amount you did. Close RUclips now. You know excactly what to do. Just do it. Again and again.

    Ignorance is bliss. People have their opinions and views on rich vs poor. Until one has done their due diligence on their own person, I doubt their lifestyle will change. It’s my opinion that rich nor poor people can be quantified by the amount of money they have or their appeal. It’s a lifestyle! ....Where my nouveau riche people at?!

    Well, I always sleep 7 - 8 hours, get up at 6 am and go for a 20 minute run. I eat healthy. Still suck at social stuff and actual studying for university though....
    Any advise?

      Find someone to run with in the morning, be like a mentor to them, then find someone to mentor you for your university studies

      finding people with whom I can work on selfimprovement has proven very difficult for me. Actually the social component is one of my major workstations. Bonding with people is nothing I am particularily good at but I definitely will try to apply the advice.
      Thx, for the answer.
