Pac-Man Arrangement is a remake of the game Pac-Man. It was released in 1996 by Namco as part of Namco Classic Collection Vol. 2. This was also the first Pac-Man game to officially introduce the Clyde/Blinky naming error, meaning Clyde was red and Blinky was orange almost like a "color swap." In addition, it is the only Pac-Man game to include the ghost Kinky, who combines with the four main ghosts to form stronger, super-powered enemies.
Gameplay:
Like the original Pac-Man, Pac-Man Arrangement is a maze game in which the objective is to clear all Pac-Dots on the board by eating them and avoiding hazardous contact with the ghosts that also inhabit the maze.
There are 6 worlds, numbering 0-5, and 23 rounds total.
In the arcade version, if one player is playing and another player inserts a coin (unless free play is selected in the game options) and presses the 2P Start button, Player 2 will spawn a green Pac-Man that will play alongside Player 1. At the end of each level, scores for each player are counted up. The player with the most points wins over the other player.
Each Pac-Dot is worth 10 points (except for the ones placed by Crybaby, which are worth 20). Each Power Pellet is worth 50 points. After Pac-Man munches a Power Pellet, the ghosts will--as in all Pac-Man games--switch direction, turn blue, and become vulnerable to Pac-Man. The first blue ghost eaten after Pac-Man consumes the Power Pellet is worth 200 points. The next one is 400, then 800, then 1600. Since this game features more than four ghosts, it is also possible to consume a fifth blue ghost for 3200 points and, on rare occasions, another one for 7650. Mutated ghosts are worth double the points above. Items (see Items section below) are usually worth 1000 points, with the exception of the yellow pill, worth 100. Fruits vary in point value.
Features:
This game, unlike the original Pac-Man, includes plenty of bonus features that make it stand apart. The major difference is the inclusion of the new ghost Kinky, which can combine with other ghosts to form more powerful morphs. These hybrid ghosts, discussed more in the "Ghosts" section, have unique special abilities, are twice the size of the normal ghosts, and are worth double points if eaten.
In the second level of every world, there are single-use dash arrows on the floor that allow Pac-Man to rapidly zip from one end of the board to the other end, though steering is possible. After using up a dash panel, touching ghosts will render them dizzy and temporarily motionless, and they will not be able hurt Pac-Man. However, if Pac-Man traverses the dash arrow opposite the direction it is pointing, he will slow down and be vulnerable to attack.
The fourth levels of each world feature "Warp Gates" that allow Pac-Man and ghosts to travel across the maze. Touching a Warp Gate will transport whomever touched it to the corresponding Warp Gate of the same color on the other side of the map. Encountering a ghost directly after or during a warp also will not harm Pac-Man.
There are also additional power-up items that appear occasionally (see the "Items" section). The dots on the maps of each level will sometimes shimmer and increase in size. Eating the dots in this state will slow Pac-Man down, unless he had eaten an orange pill.

I played that version as well on my DS all the time! What's strange though is that it's the only version where the HUD is above everything. Though it's probably because of the small screen size.

I feel like that is a common mistake they make with those two in a lot of games.
I always remember playing this game on the GC and going through 50 lives just to get to the boss as a kid cuz I had no patience lmao. Nice graphics and music, really liked the inclusion of Kinky and the ghost’s special powers. Wish they made more games kinda like this.
I loved the arcade & GBA versions of Pac - Man Arrangement when they came out. But man the current version is bad with the awful 3D models and no 5th ghost. What was Namco thinking??

The PS2/XBox/GameCube version is the same as the Arcade version, but the music is a little "high-pitched".
Same thing goes to the Gameboy Advance version, but the sound is downgraded.
The PSP version is somewhat different than the Arcade version except everything is different.
Windows/Steam/Playstation 3/Xbox 360 version is the same as the PSP version.

The best legal way to play this is on Wii U. It’s on the e-Shop under “Pac-Man Collection”. It’s the GBA version which frankly only second to the Arcade.
I grew up with the Namco Museum Xbox and GBA versions.

I don't know why they decided to pitch up the sound in the game when it was ported to "Pac-Man Collection" on Gameboy Advance, and "Namco Museum" on PS2, Xbox, and Gamecube. They also did the same thing to Dig Dug Arrangement in Namco Museum.
That happens sometimes with music. I've seen it in other places too, like, there are songs from movies that get dubbed in other languages, and for some reason they're pitched up, or intros from TV shows that are pitched up, or even other games like this where they get pitched up when they get moved or dubbed or whatever. I don't get why either, but I kinda like it sometimes because it makes the music sound a bit different, like a remix kinda.
The Toontastic Toon I believe they just thought it sounded better pitched up. It definitely sounds more cheery in a higher pitch.

Random Videos By plaindinks Late comment but Namco Classic Collection Vol. 2 (and I believe Vol. 1 as well) are known to not emulate properly on MAME. Not sure if that’s been fixed recently.

2005 versions of arrangement games are OKAY, but don't hold a candle to the 90s-2002 versions. Namco should rebrand the PSP arrangment games to avoid confusion, and then bring back the arcade versions of the arrangement titles.

My preference number of worlds would be ten from zero to nine, which world zero has two levels, and each world from one to nine has four levels, totaling thirty-nine rounds if round thirty-nine is the final boss round battle.

Personally, I like the PS2 version as the Songs are more upbeat.
Unfun fact: In all (but PSP) versions, after continuing, you lose all your points. Also, There is only one 1-up (by score, can also be changed in the GBA version), which is at 40k.

I'd just like to point out level 1 of Pac-Man Arrangement is designed to be super easy? As in... the pellets are in a path that you can just follow. It's very unlikely a ghost will actually touch you if you just follow the path.

the gamecube version of namco museam is the same as the ps2 and xbox versions but it does inquld a big if you try and play it on dolphan all music would stop playing after a while

Sorry for the late reply but the music is accurate in the gamecube but PS2/XBOX/GC Have higher pitched music.
GC & Arcade version are the best, PSP & PS3/XBOX360 are the worst.

Played the Gamecube version a bit today, along with varios Championships and Ms. Pac-Man's.
The Gamecube version looks washed out on an LCD screen, the reds bleed color, but for my money it's the only way I play it because of how good the GameCube analog stick is. Seriously, the Xbox and Sony sticks are so clunky by comparison, even an actual arcade stick at the arcade doesn't compare to the precision.
