Well I guess you can make anything up for a narrative. I never saw this potential in Michaelangelo. After he was the last one to survive, I can see why he would change in such a way. Good story regardless.
I am 33 years old and about to cry. I grow up with the tmnt movie from 1990 (which is still the best all them all) and later with the animated series 1987-1996. To see what happened to Michelangelo broke my heart. I was always the Raphael type of guy but loved the goofy way Michelangelo takes nothing seriously.
I am so on the same wavelength as you on this one! Only I preferred Mikey when I was a kid, and seeing him broken and alone was the saddest thing I could ever think of.

As someone who grew up watching this the tutrtles cartoons back in the eighties it really hit hard seeing them down and out like this. I can relate having heartaches and troubles over these years.
There's a game being made; "God of War" style... But you are, right. It would make a great follow up to the original live action movie.... You could even save money and get the original actors since they've aged accordingly and wouldn't be expensive since they aren't A-list. Plus the actor who played Casey Jones is fairly well known...
Being born in the early 80’s I’ve loved TMNT since I was a small child. Everything from the cartoons to the darker origins in the comics. I knew of this but never read them and I think your breakdown was awesome man thanks for that. Mikey was always my favorite turtle growing up. Even had a pet turtle that I named after him as a kid. Was cool to see him as the last and the one to make it all right in the end and especially seeing him finally at peace. This series was freaking great and glad the OG creators got their hands back on their creation👍

At first I didn’t know how I would feel about it but ultimately I did really love how they made The Last Ronin Michelangelo, the obvious pick for most people would’ve been Leonardo because not only is he the leader but he’s the most responsible of the group, but having the goofball of the group now become this really hard edged brooding badass was a really cool contrast
Such an incredible story, the hardcover they released for it is worth every penny. Also between the incredible figures neca did, and the video game coming, we’re eating good
I really want to be excited for the game but it’s made buy the developers that did the Darksiders series. The first one was ok but I couldn’t really get in to the second let alone the 3rd. This series needs the quality of Rock Steady Batman Arkham. But maaaaaaaybe that’s where they will take it.

Black Forest Games are the developers, which is really less credible than the different teams that worked on the Darksiders series, so...we'll just have to see how that goes. Personally love the Darksiders series, but I know it's not for everyone (especially since they're known for having different types of gameplay every entry)
Last Ronin is one of the greatest comic series ever. When you mention last Ronin, it's up there with flashpoint, darkest night, emerald twilight, infinity war and kingdom come. I didn't care for the turtles until The Last Ronin came out. Amazing

Do you know WHY they chose Michelangelo to be the last surviving turtle? Two reasons. First, they knew that people wouldn't expect it. Leonardo or Raphael would've been obvious, and Donatello would have used a more scientific approach to the situation. But Mikey turning hardcore like that? Definitely a good surprise. Second, Mikey was the first Ninja Turtle they ever drew. So the idea that the first turtle ended up being the last survivor was appealing to Kevin Eastman. It made things feel like they came full circle in more ways than one.
When I read this, I wanted it to be Raph as he was always my favorite. But it hit harder to see Mikey so dark when he was always the jokester. It was bittersweet too as Mikey was the first turtle that was created by Eastman and Laird.

The series is fantastic, as each turtle has proven exceptional. Leo was always considered the best due to his leadership and being the oldest, Raph for his strength, Donnie for his intelligence, and Mikey for his speed. However, Mikey is probably the most underrated due to his laid-back personality. Each of the other turtles taught him throughout their history of fighting and caring for themselves. Therefore, he would be the perfect choice to be the last turtle to survive. Although it may seem messed up, it is still the best thing that could have been done for the series. I grew up watching Ninja Turtles, and it was then that I developed a love for martial arts. I would love to see a live-action adaptation of the story.

Omg check out The Last Ronin - The Lost Years!!! It shows the next generation of turtles quite a bit older, but not quite as teenagers. It’s very cute, and the comics involve many like “behind the scene” parts of Mikey’s travels.
It was sad at first when I heard they created the last Ronin and when I found out it was about most of the turtles dying and one turtle left, it blew my mind. Because I'm a huge fan. It kind of reminds me of me and my brothers as we watch the show and movies together. And I was still trying to figure out which of the turtles it would be. I was thinking, maybe, Leonardo or Donatello. As crazy as that sounds. But it's good to finally hear the story, and I love it. Hearing the ending of this story, I can't wait until they make a game or an actual movie it's gonna be epic and make a lot of money.
Honestly, Michaelangelo was always my favorite of the team, so to see him at a badass like this is more awesome than I can form words for. If I had to nitpick one thing you had said about the Ronin’s identity, though, I would’ve put easiest money on that being Leonardo at first guess, given the leadership skills and determination. Raphael would actually have been my second guess.
I really enjoyed this. Mikey being revealed as the last Ronin is the best choice, bc its the least obvious! The storyline was just great. Getting to see how Leo, Raph & Donnie died along with Casey Jones & Splinter really added to this story. Very happy with it!

Dude the symbolism of Raph dying because his impatience, wrath and vengeance then Donnie dying by ambush fueled by hope for peace and Leo dying leading from the front sacrificing himself. 🤌🏽
it's random, any one of the turtles could have been the Ronin, but the least likely would be Raphael, as he is too aggressive, which is very important for the group, but puts himself at most risk; Leo as well as the leader. so it makes most sense for Michalangelo or Donatello, but most fans like Mikey, so makes sense.
This was perfect. Mikey was always my favorite turtle since i was a kid. I always felt like he was more than just jokes, but that he chose to be the brother to try and ease the stress that the other brothers felt in a lot of the situations that they all had to deal with
I have the graphic novel release of The Last Ronin and it's awesome even though I couldn't hold back from crying at the end because I've had members of my family who've died over the years but one of the deaths in my family was and still is hard for me to deal with that being my father but the Ninja Turtles were and still are my reason for not doing myself in after that so I give Last Ronin a big thumbs up

Michelangelo the comedian the jokester had to stop joking around. And get real dangerous. Hit me hard to see them go but the end was nice to see the legacy continues.
I loved this series it’s was amazing but I felt sad due to watching the turtle always overcome their enemies eventually when I was a kid I guess a part of me will always feel that way but again if this does end up being the definitive end to their story then they did it perfectly
When i found out who the last ronin was i felt a little disappointed at first... thrn i remembered, he managed to ro do exactly what his brothers did, while goofing around. Imagine him handle things when older, more mature, more focused and full of revenge. It suits so perfectly
If you think about it, mikey is the only turtle that would make sense to be the last ronin. He's the only one that could be told to leave the fight since they always babied him, the others would feel too much responsibility for him / he would be the one to be tasked with getting people to safey(exactly what happens). Amazing comic series

What I like best about the Last Ronin is that it has given us a new gen of turtles: Odyn, Uno, Yi and Moja.

Michelangelo the comedian the jokester had to stop joking around. And get real dangerous. Hit me hard to see them go but the end was nice to see the legacy continues.

I loved this series it’s was amazing but I felt sad due to watching the turtle always overcome their enemies eventually when I was a kid I guess a part of me will always feel that way but again if this does end up being the definitive end to their story then they did it perfectly
When i found out who the last ronin was i felt a little disappointed at first... thrn i remembered, he managed to ro do exactly what his brothers did, while goofing around. Imagine him handle things when older, more mature, more focused and full of revenge. It suits so perfectly

If you think about it, mikey is the only turtle that would make sense to be the last ronin. He's the only one that could be told to leave the fight since they always babied him, the others would feel too much responsibility for him / he would be the one to be tasked with getting people to safey(exactly what happens). Amazing comic series
man i can’t believe i actually started tearing up towards the end there, im not even that big of a turtles fan, mainly just watched the 2012 series (which i adored) but goddamn this is a good comic

They should make this a movie and have it look like the first turtles movies but have aimed for the fans that been here since day one put some blood in the movie and it would be a masterpiece
They need to make this a movie and make it R rated, bloody and brutal- like 300 meets Die Hard meets sin city with a touch of boondock saints. And whoever plays casey marie had better be jacked - like lean beef patty weightlifter level yoked out. No scrawny mary-sue bs. Casey marie has to look like she's got mutated genetics
