what is meaning of append and split??

Append is a mode , it allows you to re write your file from where you left , as it's pointer is always at last , so it's never overwritten like writing mode , if you don't hv a file and certainly wanna choose it , append creates a self made file for it ...
Split() - converts a string into a list , dividing the elements into given arguments or none , by using comma
