So glad that you enjoyed your visit to "One Hour Photo". I had the pleasure of meeting the late great Robin Williams and he was the sweetest guy imaginable. I love everything about this movie, including the soundtrack ("The Pursuit" is my favorite, especially watching Robin Williams trying to escape while this is playing in the background with a sense of urgency and childlike terror). May I suggest Gary Oldman in "Romeo is Bleeding"?
I’m so jealous you got a chance to meet him and you’re totally spot on about the soundtrack. Set the perfect tone for a flick like this. I’ll check out Romeo is Bleeding for sure! I’m a big Gary Oldman fan!

The nightmare scene....it's not blood, it's photo liquid.
Fun fact: I used to work at a very large mail order photo processing company, sometimes we would get crime scene photos. One crime scene we got was from the Gainesville killer and those photos will never leave my mind.

The dream-sequences, where Sy fantacices about the York family, are extremely well done, but also important in letting us know that while Sys actions ARE terrible, he is not motivated by sexually degrading or hurting them physically.
It makes us sympathize with him when we know that he isn't a complete degenerate.
Although, it is always made clear that he is a mentally ill stalker that absolutely needs to be taken in.

Great reaction! I worked in the photo lab at Walgreens when I was in college. I saw way too many "personal" photos lol It was back before smartphones were huge, so people were still using film. I had a BlackBerry at the time, and I miss those.

This was so good and loved your reaction! This movies always gave me the creeps and love Robin’s work for this character… you felt bad for the man but at the same time you wanted to run as far as possible. Definitely makes me wonder what my photo guy saw when I used to get film developed at 13😂

my favorite trivia about this movie is that Neon Genesis Evangelion toy he was reading from earlier belonged to Robin William's personal collection along with a gundam model kit or "gunpla" in another scene where he is imagining him as being apart of the family and also, no, the toy is not of a good guy if you are familiar with evangelion

Great Rare villain role by Robin Williams. This one is a very layered performance by him. He also takes on Pacino in Insomnia. Love it:)

Found a found footage type of film the other day called Zero day it’s from 2003 though you might find it interesting it does involve a few triggering topics but other than that it’s pretty good :)

World’s Greatest Dad is mad underrated. It’s like the definition of black comedy.
This movie came out when I was 12yrs old and I saw it when I was about 12-13. I think I was a bit young to be seeing it. The scenes where he is making the couple pose for pictures in the hotel room like scarred me for life. Very creepy and disturbing film but I respect it bc Robin Williams does an incredible job and it is an Oscar worthy performance and I think the story is really good and unique.

Have you seen Girl, Interrupted 1999 ? A classic psychological drama film.
We watched it in my Psych class in college. Great movie but really sad too.
I think you would really enjoy a movie called "The Cell". I haven't seen anyone react to this yet. It's an early 2000s psychological thriller with Jennifer Lopez, Vince Vaughn and Vincent D'Onofrio. It wasn't a succes in the box office, but it is definitely a cult classic and - in my opinion - severely underrated. Great costume design and art design. Ahead of it's time I would say.

Another under rated robin williams movie was Popeye ( 1980 ) He nailed Popeye . Shelly duvall nailed it as Olive Oyl . Mr Noodles even in it .

Also forgot to mention that what dreams may come fits well on this channel because dispite what the trailer shows the second half is fucking disturbing and horror flickish . I mean it's Richard Matheson who was a writer on the original twilight zone known for its twists .

Great reaction.The Final Cut is another really interesting Robin Williams movie. It's a science fiction psychological thriller which takes place in a setting where memory implants make it possible to record entire lives. Williams plays a professional who specializes in editing the memories of unsavory people into uncritical memorials that are played at funerals. As much as I love Robin Williams in a comedy, I think he really shines in a serious story. The Fisher King is another of his movies that's a must watch.

@therobw yeah true that is a good point.! I did not rven tbink of that.! I actually would be super curious to see someone do a social media version of this same film like how they could show that level of violation of personal space with seeing the images first when now it is all so instantaneous
You actually just made me realize how interesting it would be to try and make that same level of creepiness today with taking a photo. I seriously wonder how the film could portray this in such an instantaneous society of social media especially with stuff that used to be so personal like photos and videos that were not so immediately available to the photographer and film maker to view so quickly. Of course editing would take time but that immediate image is so quick now it loses that personal space that this film One Hour Photo portrays. Like how would they make the story when the images taken by Robin Williams character would be so quick to see and would just be quickly uploaded online or something

Me and my bf took a bunch of sex photos and when I went to pick them up there was a slip inside stating some of the photos could not be printed due to the “nature of the content”. I asked where the photos were and the dude said, we can’t give them out.
