- our first look into the difficulty that platformer mode offers, and it's absolutely insane. when I entered the level, I didn't exit until I was done. the rooms kept on coming but I kept on going, and oh my goodness all of it was SO hard. the video doesn't really do it justice, as the movements for mini gamemodes are super fast and somewhat hard to control. I would recommend trying this yourself to get a feel for it. All of that being said, I had a fun time with this, even though I got stuck a few times throughout my hour and thirteen minutes of total playtime. I know it's hard to compare something like this to existing extreme demons, but I'll try to do it anyway. I'd say this is easily medium tier on the not list worthy spreadsheet, an uncontested extreme demon in my opinion. wow what a crazy experience g
side note: yes I know this is unrated but it seems like it might not stay that way. also I got sick of hearing the song start over every 2 seconds in game so I edited out my game audio and replaced it with a silly little song

i agree with you but thats years down the line. As of current 2.2 where the free level Jet lag is a medium demon that took me 10 mins to beat, meanwhile my hardest demon is a easy hard demon and took me 17k attempts or 12 days to beat. Thats why I believe as of now this is an extreme demon.@@esteb7496

I have seen a pattern that people really like cube and robot when making platformer levels. I’m sure the other gamemodes are gonna be hellish for platformer. Imagine straightfly while worrying about horizontal movement.

lmao im 564 attempts in and still havent passed the first checkpoint 😭i think im just naturally awful at platformers. my friend is better than me at the level and his hardest is ispywithmylittleeye, mine being bloodbath. its a completely different gamemode so skill from GD barely transfers over onto platformer mode.

There probably will be a separate demonlist for platformers, but I wonder how checkpoints will play into this. Like, it is very weird that the traditional "beat the level without dying once to verify it" stipulation is seemingly thrown out the window for this case.

I never did either bro, but I still tried and I achieved it in 6 hours, something very complicated but very satisfying, at least now I can say that I passed the top 1 extreme plat at the beginning of 2.2 hahaha
Being good at platformer games help but gd plat physiques are weird so it's not that necesary, probably beat jet lag first and then just go for it

This is 10 times harder than medium tier. I can learn and beat a medium tier in 1 day, but this will take a whole month... my hardest is lucid chaos... I've spent 1 hour... and i haven't even reached the first checkpoint

i beat jet lag in 2 hours and 5 minutes and then guy completed a hard demon (now extreme demon) in just 1 hours and 10 minutes, its insane how there people are already so good

Because it is hard demon dificulty, if each section had just a single checkpoint at the beginning it could be worth extreme but just play 500 hours of platformer games and you’ll quickly realize that it’s way easier than an extreme with 500 hours in gd
We need our own trials of death. I bet Mario Maker will be overtaken in difficulty by GD with 2.2 being out.
Doubt it, trials of death is absolutely insane and its difficulty would only be matched in gd if a really good player spends many years on a single level

It seems for most of the hard platformers, they like to use mini robot and mini cube mainly.
i loved playing iwbtg fangames, so this was really fun to beat. although the last screen was BRUTAL, it took up half of my completion time 😭

With checkpoints, it’s comparable to getting multiple small runs on an extreme demon in one sitting.

I hate platformer mode as it takes away from the fact that this is a side scroller. It feels like a different game now and it’s going in a bad direction. Plus, platformer levels like this getting rated is ass. This is so lazy. It’s basically a layout with some effects on the blocks. It’s repetitive with awful gameplay. All of it is unlikable.

1 - you dont have to play platformer, normal levels still exist
2 - the rating standards are low right now because the update is new, the maximum amount of moons you can currently get is 179 as far as i know. they will definitely increase when more platformer levels are made, but right now we need a way to actually collect moons which means a lot of platformer levels

Platformer mode has been out for 3 days and we already have this behemoth of difficulty beaten. The skill ceiling for platformer levels is going to be insane in a month or two
I don't think it's an extreme demon. It looks like it would take forever, but the checkpoints are very close to eachother (relatively) maybe if you are used to beating extreme demons realatively quickly, but hard demons for me take like a week.
Just thinking that if platformer mode just came out and people can beat this "extreme" in first hour then it's not even close to extreme

Congrats on beating this! I just had a shot at it myself and it took nearly 3.5 hours. I would personally say that this is harder than Cataclysm / ICDX / Acu and that it may be around Bloodbath, but again, hard to compare.

just because it feels hard in a different way doesn't mean you can discount how little attempts and time it took
I think that if it is extreme, the level has been buffed and it really is a notable buff, this video is the unbuffed version

you can't really compare standards for platformer to standards for normal levels, right now this is the hardest platformer level, so it being rated an extreme is appropriate. The standards can obviously change when harder platformer levels are rated
