Southern Maine surfer/lifeguard here. Respect for showcasing northeast surf. Definitely a large surf community up here. Barrier to entry is air/water temp and experience. Handful of popular spots get a bit overcrowded on hurricane swells, but there are more secret spots that you can have to yourself year round. People from other areas don’t understand the 30ft tide swings either. Spots fire accordingly. Dope vid.
I lived in Connecticut for a few years and used to drive up to Rhode Island to surf, and they had a really core surf scene too, and the waves 🌊 get pretty good too. I never managed to go check New Hampshire but I wanted to, might try to next time I’m up that way. Cheers 🍻 🤙🏼
I live in Los Angeles now, but I grew up surfing in New Hampshire and southern Maine. Often people try to tell me that New Hampshire does not have a seacoast. It blows my mind. I miss those crispy fall offshore days, but I don't miss suiting up in 30 degrees, getting skunked 80% of the time, and brutal seasonal depression.
What’s the name of that spot going north past the wall on the right as you go around the headland….it had a lobster trap buoy sitting right about where you took off?…I was in town years and years ago before new year’s and caught it big…big a-frame left in front of a a rockface….glassy barrels and would hook a roundhouse around the buoy!….I think the next spot around the headland was rye rocks…. I was only one out and I remember I had to paddle all the way into the cove to get out of the water and run back up the road to my car….freaking freezing like-20 windchill!

New Hampshire's coastline is about 18 miles long, making it the shortest coastline of any U.S. state that borders an ocean
