Ep. 80 - Rusty Anderson of Paul McCartney's Band on Tone-Talk!
My old guitar teacher from Red Duck music in La Habra. Still remember the KEZY “noontime” concert
with Eulogy at my high school. Great player….cool cat…Rusty was the perfect guy to play Beatles songs with Paul.
Red Duck Music? I am from La Habra. Where was that at? I knew Rusty taught at Whittier Music, I had lessons with another teacher there. Small world, La Habra, Ca. A great place to grow up.

Thank you so much 😀
Love those lamps in the Friedman background.
Super cool Marc! Fantastic artist...great episode!
Paul fell at the Tampa show. I had tickets for the Atlanta show (wonderful show, btw) and was freaking out and hoping he didn’t get seriously hurt and cancel the Atlanta show. Love Rusty!!!
Thanks again guys awesome!
This is my new favorite show ever
My God y’all just keep ‘em coming! Great show!
Thanks! Will do!
This interview was wicked! Thanks, guys!!!!! Cheers, Mike from BC, CAN
Glad you enjoyed it!
@@tone-talk Yeah! I saw the 'Wings over America' tour, back in '77? @ T.O. , CAN A good time was had by all! Great, insightful perspective! Another 'killer' interview from Tone-Talk! You guys are spoiling us! Thanks, again... ;)
Driving Rain and New are awesome records!
The drug scene....drugs were ubiquitous. It was a crazy time in the late 70s. Marc: “that’s awesome”. LOL
D C hahaha! If I was playing in bands at that time, I probably wouldn’t be alive today lol
A little Freudian slip! :-P
OMG, that Dylan quote on the music scene was INSANE.
I was at a show in 1977 but I remember that Eulogy headlined over Van Halen at the Golden West Ballroom in Norwalk, Ca.
love how around 16:58 Dave tells it like it is. haha for all the musicians who got to play in that before era who complain. try starting out now, without the legacy/notoriety of a resume blessed with a strong past.
The hole incident happened at the Tampa show. I think Fine Line was the song. I was there and yes it made an impression.
Dave you don't mention Aspen Pittmans The tube Amp book?? OUCH man...that was like the bible of guitar Tube books...RIP Aspen Pittman and such a cool guy
Does Rusty get mistaken for Mark Cuban a lot? .......Brian Ray makes the rounds but not so much Rusty. Good job guys. Great interview.
Mark Cuban?! 😂😂😂
Dave looks like a Beatles album cover.
Thought he was about to talk about the pedals in his rack and then nothing🙈
