Bump steer is actually really bad for rock crawling. As the axle articulates, it'll push the axle over past the steering range to the point where you lose the ability to turn as far. I've experienced it first hand. Tire is up on a rock and you need to turn more right, but all you have is left and straight.
Would have preferred to weld that bung in instead. I've seen the clamp on ones work fine too on road cars but the water mud and junk with the heat might make the gasket on it leak.
Suggestion: rear steering. And while I understand about sponsored shows, if that buggy stalls going across an incline, well, it ain't gonna be pretty because of that full hydraulic steering. That'll put those new doors to the test. Yeee hah!
The fuel module from them is a joke. You can't have 5 psi going in and expect 60 psi continuously coming out. I used that set up on a customers car (customer supplied parts) and it ran out of fuel every time you went past 1/4 throttle. It was a terrible design and having a half gallon fuel tank under the hood is an even worse idea. Not to mention their customer support was atrocious to say the least. There is a reason fitech is the cheapest. You get what you pay for
@@WhiteG60 I learned first hand it didn't work. Did an fitech kit on a 71 mach one mustang and everything about it sucked ass. Worst customer service ever, product didn't work even close to advertised. It almost burned up a $10k engine because it leaned it out to the point the headers started to glow. Found out it needed an update which I wasn't told till 3 months after screwing with the damn thing. It was a pain. I highly recommend against their products. My buddy used an fitech intake manifold on his ls swap and couldn't get it to run right only to find out it had a vacuum leak were they missed a weld. Poor quality control and parts 👎
Oh man, scratched, who put that tree there? Weld a o2 bung and extend the exhaust further to the rear, Its just dumped straight down under the cab, and without doors and slow crawling, gonna be breathing in exhaust fumes all day.
On the doors would have been much better to run tubing across top sides running into bottom side so their is no open ends Or open areas for arm or hands to hit. Bump steer is never ok
@@richfarfugnuven6308 Been there several times in my willys and samurai crawlers. It's cure you think your body parts can't get out the open windows just as easily. And we wear belts/harnesses, don't forget to buckle up!
@MrSnowlver yep, hardest thing to teach people is to grab their harness when it starts to roll. People want to stick their arms out. You're not going to stop a 2 1/2 ton Wrangler from rolling, but you will lose an arm...
@@richfarfugnuven6308 Yes, scary how many times I have seen people reach out, or worse people outside try to "catch" a rolling vehicle. It's reflex, but a very bad reflex to have.
Yeah, I too was a little surprised at the lack of profanities in a mechanic shop, but then I noticed this show was originally created for TV and then uploaded here, so I guess production told them to control their mouths, as there could be children watching the show on History Channel.
Dude, weld a bung into the exhaust.
Yup that’s awful, looks tacky
Lazy-ass move using hose clamps...
Purpose built but makes it look so easy. Even with "wet tires!" LOLOL!

Super fun. Enjoy all your videos. Thank you!
I know FiTech probably sponsored this but why would you not just swap out the fuel pump to a high pressure since you have a fuel cell?
Looks like it’s missing a u-joint cap on the left front axle shaft
Would like a better look at the new steering set up.. But, of what I did see, looked pretty damn cool!!

Run that jeep up to LBL turkey bay. Have fun climbing around up there for a day or 2.
great vid as always, what tube notcher is that ? cheers
Super Nice
Amanzing
How the hell you going to steer it when it breaks down and won't run? Bad idea.
Dude drive a forklift with no hydraulic steering, same thing as this setup. It's basically a forklift style hydraulic system
Looks like a cap is missing on the left knuckle u joint
Why did we never see the Mopar 410 on the dyno?
Wish you guys would have went more hog wild with this build. You are almost all the way to a Ultra 4 4500 car.
Doors would be cool with that old jeep script in them

Yeah a stimulus check I’m sure that would pay for it 😒.

👍
I am sure you two climbed Brokeback moutain in that Jeep
hokie oxygen sensor mount.
Doors? It's a jeep it doesn't need no stinking doors.
If you have put your crawler on it's side, the doors are good. Keeps your body parts inside...

These two just need to kiss and get it over with.
Right?! Nobody in a real shop talks like this.....

IDK the term " bump steer " , around here we call it the DEATH WOBBLE 😆
bump steer and death wobble are 2 totally different things
All them tools and the doors still look like they was built in high school shop class.
Its hurts my brain to see yall weld without the right insulator/heatshield on your rig lol if its a ck torch order a few 3ghs and youll be rocking
😁✌👌👍🖖😎
fell for it again no idea whats what bye bye
Put that stimulus check into cryptocurrency and build 10 Jeeps.
First!
Did they really just clamp the bung on? Well I guess it's nice powernation employees the special needs
