- How to replace the exhaust sensor and exhaust sensor pipe on Renault Kadjar for a common fault that can costs thousands at a dealership or garage.
The pipe itself is currently retailing for £130 and is 40cm long and requires an 11mm spanner to remove, most garages i spoke to said this was a really labour intensive job to remove the engine in order to replace the pipe but that is not the case and it can be removed with a set of spanners, i dont think the crows feet sockets where that helpfull to me in the end.
Big thanks to youtubers below who helped me get this far and created the video to feedback to others as I've benefited from learning on here!

Great job. Got the same problem. Found the part on ebay for 39.76 I will let you know how it's going next week. Thank you. Great video.
good luck
Thanks for the video, I'd tried the bike wire and thanks to you giving the length I know the wire went all the way through. Plus I've got pressure coming up the pipe. Specialist cars had my one a couple of years ago for 3 months under warranty to try and fix. Then it came back this year when it was out of warranty.
Glad it helped i did a lot of research and tried to fill the gaps from the videos i watched like length and nut size! :)
Great video for all your hard work. I dread the day when this fault occurs on my Kadjar 👍
Well done friend. Next video is going to be about my old boy X5
I had the same problem, I changed the sensor, and of course, the fault came back onto the dashboard. I've put the scanner on, and I've noticed that while driving the upstream turbo pressure was constant regardless of the revs, so I took the sensor out, and I've tried to unblock the pipe with a bicycle brake cable but couldn't manage to go through the corners. What I've done then? I sprayed some EGR valve cleaner into the pipe through the end where the sensor was, left it a few minutes to soak, and then sprayed again and again a few times. I left the sensor out of the pipe and drove a few miles on high revs. When I put it back in, it indicated the correct pressure values.
thanks for sharing
Hi I'm facing the same issue and this video was of huge help. Thank you 👍🏻
Great to hear!
Thanks for the video, ive got this issue on mine with faults - check stop and start/ check injector/check anti pollution 😢 ! Now i know this is probably the issue
good luck
@@Stoob0y cheers
@@AaronDeano this worked for your faults?
@@sasamitic3753 will know tomorrow, as it came up with a "engine failure hazard" fault so had to put in the garage, spoke with mechanic and they cleaned the pipe and also changed the sensor 🤞🤞 will let you tomorrow, hopefully get car back!
@@AaronDeano ty for quick answer, i hope this fix your problem, then it will fix mine 😁
Going to do this tomorrow hopefully
Never heard somebody say don’t subscribe in a youtube video!
As last resort for more space I've supported the engine and removed an engine mount bolt or two. Might buy you the inch or two you need ?
Years ago to clean clagged up two stroke exhausts we would soak with paraffin for a few hour then burn it out. It used to fall out when lightly tapped !
If £130 is out of the question, find the mid point of the blockage and cut the pipe. Might make cleaning possible ? Rejoin pipe with suitable hose and clips from a hydraulic specialist like Pirtek or ebay.
Diesels are love hate relationship.....
Hi , this will solve the “injection check” error appearing on my Kadjar ?
I poked withe the bicicle cable hours an hours. Did n't worked out. With a thinner cable (bicicle gear shift cable) it was done in 5 minutes. It was the thickness of the cable dat cousts me a few hours.putted also brakecleaner in the pipe.😅
Hello! Had these errors just come up but we are on our Euro trip and its 800 miles return journey. Is it OK to drive back? No loss of power or anything just can't seem to use cruise control..
im no expert but id say it should be fine, assuming its the exact same error.
Can the pipe with all the bends be cut and replaced with flexible fuel line? as in re-use some of the pipe and insert flex fuel line in the middle. I think its just measureing air pressure on the dpf
was tried but didn't last see -> ruclips.net/video/tSQvHHZ3d5A/видео.html&ab_channel=FixYourRide13
This sensor is unplugged in the clio i just baught and i cant find the connector, do you know where it comes from ?
at about 2:13 in the video you can see the connector dangling, on mine the cable harness had it quite tighly tied nearby so it shouldnt drop down into the engine compartment.
Did you try using a fuel injector cleaner first becaue ive read a lot of people have fixed the issue with just a good fuel cleaner
i used redex and at the start of the problem it provided a temporary fix but not a long term one. i also tried putting it in the pipe directly along with carb cleaner.
My Kadjar 2017 1.2 petrol has stop/start not available & check injection light.
Taking in the Arnold Clarke under their 60 day warranty.
I'll be asking them to check this, what is it actually called?
I take it this is a common Kadjar issue?
Hello, this video is focused on Diesel engines, where it is a common problem, not sure if its the same for petrol. let us know the outcome for others benefit if you can
Thanks for the like! I've just checked and the code I have is P0096, what code did you have for this issue?
noticed you said DF651 to DTC 047195 is there a P version of these? Mine is a renault kadjar 2016
@@thelegand1 think it depends on the code reader, most the error codes are shown at 0:56 seconds in the video, a quick google says that P code is a high level code "P0096 is the OBD-II generic code ", which might mean your using a fairly basic code reader, the one i have from autel has software to break it down more granularly
@@Stoob0y it certainly is a basic reader! How much do you think a garage would charge for plugging in their diagnostic tool?
@@thelegand1 some small garages might read it for free but a lot will charge upwards of £50 just to read a code average is 50-80
@@Stoob0y Appreciate it mate! Thanks for your help and for posting the video! Really helpful
Spent over two hours trying to clear this manifold pressure pipe on my neighbours kadjar in place, no joy, maximum I could get wires in was about 15cm, tried diesel egr cleaner spray down it, brake cleaner, electrical cleaner, wd40 etc, with a drill, then tried both a mityvac vacuum pump to try and suck it out, then a car foot pump to try and force it with pressure, still no go, just totally blocked, so had to throw the towel in, for those that have had success with a bike cable and drill, all I can say is theirs couldn't have been as clogged as both of ours are.
yeah i tried most of the above also, i still have the pipe i was thinking i might cut it in half see how bad it is, also given renault wanted over £100 for the pipe wondered if Mercedes or Nissan would be cheaper, be interested to hear if you can find it cheaper.
@@Stoob0y do you know if the pipe is identical fitted to the quasqai as the kadjar? My neighbour has said since I have attempted to clear the pipe, the check injection is now on permanently, so may have another try to clear the pipe, some have said to try Mr muscle oven cleaner.
@@markslade9722 I cant tell you 100% for sure it is but its the same engine as in the quasqai and mecredess A1, the part comes in a sealed bag so as long as you dont open it you can return it, worth a punt if there is a substantial saving to be had. If im being honest the sensor may be a red herring after buggering about with it will go to check injection for a while and then escilate to anti pollution after a few (4 if memory serves) restarts so wouldn't get your hopes up. I ran mine with the sensor off to see if the engine pressure would clear it from behind.
@@Stoob0y yeah I tried both using a mityvac to try and suck the blockage up, and also a foot pump to try and force it down with pressure, but nothing.
It's due for m.o.t soon, so is going to fail with that message up, so will try again with oven cleaner, don't fancy the job of changing the pipe, not because of the expense of the pipe, but looks a bugger to get at and do, plus I have heard some people have hat the nut snap at the manifold trying and then ended up all day having to remove the turbo, manifold etc to get the snapped nut out.
@@markslade9722 if you want to buy time disconnect the sensor no error shows up! so will get through MOT. yeah i was worried about it snapping so i put WD40 on it and got the engine upto temp and it came off, but it is a faff.
Whats the part called
Less than £30 from Nissan for this pipe just done same job,
I did wonder afterwards if id went to nissan and got it, presume renault put a huge markup on it.
Do you know the part number for it?
